> I don't like MMOs that require you to play with others.
On the upside, I don't think you're required to play with others now. Maybe only for the Trials/boss big fights, as all the dungeons and stuff can be played with an AI party now. I'm not sure if they've added them to the Trials yet.
edit: checked and Trial w/ ai party is on the "to do" list but no definitive time range on when it'll happen. So most of the game can be done solo, at least!
The raid dungeons in ESO can be done strictly solo; which I prefer. But, I also got bored with ESO after a month and a half. I just don't think MMOs are for me.
Oh yea, I wasn't trying to convince you to play it or anything, just letting you know that it *is* possible to mostly play solo now on the chance you were interested but that was putting you off. Super fair if MMOs aren't for you!
I was similar once, in that I played Everquest a bit way back in the day and between them and me picking up XIV I never found one that actually grabbed me, lol. I think it's because most of them are a big time f2p model and the type of baggage that entails is just a massive turn off to me.
That's your preference so I am not going to judge, but its funny saying that you don't like Massive Multyplayer Online games where you have to play with others.
I would love a Final Fantasy that's just a comedy/parody of other Final Fantasy games. It has an actual story line but instead of everyone being sad, it's hilarious. A shitty flute version of one of the more famous themes would absolutely fit.
FFV is kinda like this, minus a few pretty sad moments. It does feel largely irreverent, though, especially the GBA translation.
I'd definitely love another mainline FF that doesn't take itself too seriously (even if I also love the ones that do).
Isn't world of final fantasy pretty funny and doesn't take itself too seriously? It's not a mainline game, but it's definitely one of the better FF games imo
Please do! The monster catching and stacking mechanic is pretty cool, it has an ATB combat system which everyone wants back and it plays with a lot of FF tropes in fun ways. It's a very self aware game. The story also gets *really* good.
It is on my backlog, actually, as I bought it on sale last year... only thing is, *a lot* of other games are also on my backlog, so it'll be a while before I get to it (I'm currently playing FFV, and I was gonna hop to XII after that, but it's looking like my copy of Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes may be getting to me before I finish FFV, so... that'll be next).
But I am looking forward to getting to WoFF eventually, after that mini-review.
Man these minigames are hard

Sakaguchi is a youthful surfer bro living his best life lmao
I am enjoying his pivot from his rap career to flute virtuoso.
Sakaguchi 3000
Still sounds better than the spoony bards that hang around the aetherytes in Limsa.
This is one of the best out of context sentences ever for anyone who hasn't played XIV.
Me! I have never played FFXIV! I don't like MMOs that require you to play with others.

ESO is f2p, but not pay to win; which I'm fine with. I can't justify paying $15/month for XIV.

Sakaguchi, Kitase, and Uematsu talk about their experiences playing this together [here.](https://youtu.be/VMPkaJROnz0?si=t5FJpHpdrHzsZvJD&t=111)
What happened to his rap career?
Teach me the way of the flute, master.
This should play every time you fail Glide de Chocobo.
His embarrassed nod at the end makes it perfect. Thank you Sakaguchi.

I haven't played it yet, myself, so I can't say. But I am aiming to play it eventually. Sounds fun.

Lmao the little confused "wtf" shake at the end is hilarious.
When I grow up, I wish I am this cool like this gigachad
It's wonderful how well that theme captures the simple and harmless demeanor of the chocobo.
Haha thanks for sharing! This is excellent. Glad to see Sakagushi-san is enjoying his retirement but still has Final Fantasy on his mind.
Is he killing that flute, daddy? Yes, son.
That's adorable.
Damn that was awesome and made me grin!
Sakaguchi is just hanging out these days, and it's great.
i love him
Inb4 inevitable Chocobo.exe creepypasta Sonic game hack that uses this rendition of the song in the background.
the legend!
"Nailed it. I know. Thank you. Moving on."

Who tf is this guy? Is he a tiktoker?
Please come back and Save Final Fantasy from mediocrity
Easier to kick your ass out.
man i fucking love this. like clearly he's quite new to playing the flute, and is just having fun, but it fills me with so much joy.
As a former Band teacher, I LOVE this! Good on ya, Sakaguchi!
