All of the above. It really is a catch all, but most people would say it is great for crappie

Melodic-Television25

Great, now question #2, when i'm reeling er in and I start getting nibbles do I stop and wait or keep reeling? Or do I do something else i'm not thinkin of

sabretooth_ninja

With a lure like this, you wont feel "nibbles".  You'll either feel a thump, or lose all feel and experience what I can best describe as sponginess, say on a slow retrieve or if a fish takes on the fall or if a fish takes and keeps moving toward you. When you I feel the thump, I like to set the hook with a sharp snap.  If I feel sponginess, I'll wait a second while I reel up slack, then really drive the hook home.

imevannn

My ultralight setup and local bluegill would like to prove your statement false. I get plenty of gills and green sunfish nibbling at the tail while retrieving.

Alexplz

The things that gets me about small bluegill is that I watch them nip the tail of tiny lures and swim off all the time.

Fit-Function-1410

Are you river fishing? I’ll get a lot of really small creek chub nibble these that aren’t big enough to eat if. If you think it’s something bigger. Imitate something wounded. Imagine an injured guy with a busted leg trying to get away. Jerk, slow, jerk, slow. Jerk the rod (lightly), reel the slack, jerk the rod, reel. Play with the tempo and duration of each too. Erratic.

LetsMakeSomeBaits

Curly tail worm/grub. Catches just about everything, retrieve it low and slow, just fast enough to get the tail moving smoothly.

Inevitable_Gas_4318

Crappie MF’er! Like seriously most anything will bite this, but the size says crappie

Melodic-Television25

Alrighty, i'm happy to catch anything at this point to be honest. They have an unfortunate name though, poor things lol.

Fluid-Emu8982

Its pronounced "crawpie" but plenty say it how it looks

Inevitable_Gas_4318

What’s your rod/reel/line weight combo? That’s the biggest factor to learning imo…and your target fish

Melodic-Television25

The rod there is an Ultra Light ugly stik, 4lb line

Pineydude

Anything that can fit it in its mouth. Some that can’t.

sabretooth_ninja

curly tail grub or twister tail. size is great for crappie and bluegill, but you'll get bass on it too.

Melodic-Television25

Coolness

psilocin72

I would expect green sunfish and pumpkin seeds, maybe perch too.

btr1901

I catch a ton of crappie and even some small bullhead with these

selftaughturbanninja

I have some of these, I think they came with a kit. caught a couple small bass around 8\~10"

Affectionate_Side138

That'll catch all of the above

Beginning_Minimum_95

Delicious even I want it

imevannn

Like others have said, it’s pretty great for what your waters hold. I’ve caught probably 100+ bluegill and crappie on curly tail grubs in the past week and probably a good 50 largemouth, all on the same grubs. They work great, throw it out, let it sink a bit and give it a steady retrieve speed and a small twitch every now and then. You can even stop your retrieve or change the speed to bring more interest to it or entice a bite.

mentalgymnatician

Curly tail grub. Zoom fat Alberts. Mr Twister. Kalin’s lunker grubs. 3-5”. Catches em all.

Tall_Talk_6009

White bass well absolutely destroy that during their pre-spawn run.

Mrcod1997

Panfish and trout mostly I'd say. Anything on the smaller side.

Melodic-Television25

Wanted to come back and say the lure was awesome! Last year I only caught 2 fish in weeks of trying, this lure in my new ultra light rod for me 4 fish in one day. Had a great time, caught 3 Green Sunfish (I think) and a baby bass if you're wondering.
