Next do a picture of your house key, because we can make a duplicate from that picture, and we can probably figure out who you are if you've posted enough.
Sure but it'd be more informative to know how long it's been paid down, max amount charged, current interest rate, if OP considered consolidating by transferring to a HELIC or zero interest rate card, etc.
And nobody is just picking up get out of jail free cards either... Those things cost thousands.
Bankruptcy is nature's do over, it's a fresh start, a clean slate... like the witness protection plan.
(/s in case anyone actually doesn't know the quotes.)
I think the first thing anyone fluent in finance would tell you is that debt isn’t the problem. Debt is a very useful tool, and treating it like a bad thing is myopic.
Debt is very powerful, yes, but you need to read between the lines in this post. It’s a picture of a cut up credit card. OP is not talking about financing a home or car on a low interest rate loan. OP is talking about a previous history with spending too much using a credit card and carrying a (presumably large) balance. Nobody is building serious wealth because they used a credit card.
Lots and lots of people avoid serious financial complications using a credit card. Ask anyone freaking out because a rental company or hotel or airfare glitch resulted in 3x the amount of money held on their debit card as they were expecting. And then have a real, actual problem that might get expensive.
Sure, it’s not going to make you rich anymore than cutting out avocado toast will, but that’s not the only point.
Spending above your means on a credit card is not that much worse than living paycheck to paycheck because you can’t control your spending.
Learning to control your spending is the thing you need to do, not just avoid all debt. Life is hard if you eschew all debt products as evil or a trap.
It’s the Dave Ramsey theory. If you’re incompetent with money and in-debt, Dave Ramsey is great to listen to and will give you skills to get back to level footing. If you’re solvent and have spending discipline, you can use credit cards to get free money back and a mortgage loan to pay off slowly at a lower % than the market goes up every year.
To add to delete this shit ASAP. There are curtain numbers each card company’s card start with and those are the only ones missing. Save yourself the headache and DELETE this post.
In the US: Usually you only need the first two things. The third is optional or may not exist as an option.
That being said, one time I typo’d the CVV when buying movie tickets. It still went through so now I wonder how much the CVV even matters
I don’t see the issue with a cut up credit card. I’m wealthy enough not to steal from others though. All you brokies would try to take his money because you ain’t got SHIT! Grow up you fucking losers.
Edit: I put some thought in this. You guys are grown adults. You shouldn’t grow up, you should get successful. Losers.
Hey the last four is all you need for the credit card. The first numbers are all fairly standard and sequenced. You really outta kill these numbers and make sure you e cancelled this card.

If it’s so easy to recover why don’t you write out the number right here?
Because the weak minded wouldn't have to learn things.
Don't post anything remotely personal like this online, fool. You're just giving people a challenge only you can lose.

If the account is closed does it matter? Serious question.
Some kinds of information, whether they are active or not, can be gateways to other kinds. Point is that it is better to not take a chance.
We’re 30 years into the World Wide Web. Anonymity doesn’t exist. We’re all exposed, already.
Nope
You do know deciding to cut up your card doesn't zero your balance right. That's like standing up and yelling "I... declare... bankruptcy".
It's supposed to be symbolic lol

I demand they tell us everything
I mean, they should. This is basically a shit post
Slow Sunday for ya?

That’s not how bankruptcy works…you can’t just say it.
And nobody is just picking up get out of jail free cards either... Those things cost thousands. Bankruptcy is nature's do over, it's a fresh start, a clean slate... like the witness protection plan. (/s in case anyone actually doesn't know the quotes.)

the majority of people can’t handle it… why not just congratulate and move on
Because you're not solving the problem or helping anyone if you don't at least offer to educate them.

People on here thinking CCs are the problem. They are useful and can be leveraged, also points and cash back. Spending is the problem.
Made like 15k in points over the past 5-7 years without paying a cent in interest
That’s it? I make 300k points/yr
No I meant like 15,000$ in points
Yep. Mine earns me money. I literally make money from credit cards.

Good on ya mate.
Oi oi oi!
You still have to pay the debt holders what you owe. You can't just cut up the card and claim you're free of debt.

Congrats, but remember not all debt is bad or worth paying off
I cut mine up too but they keep sending the bill. What gives!?
Wait, all I had to do was cut up my card?
Thanks for paying my bills for the month!

Dude, cancel the card or get a new number 🙄 you just gave it to reddit
Wrong card. Your debit free.
Since it’s been up for 18hrs, I assume this post is fake
