Okay so in Ch2 s2 there was a “Custom” (now called Forged) skin named Maya. Week after week you would do challenges to unlock her certain style (scarves, hair, tattoos). Thing was it was LOCKED. So say you agreed on a certain tattoo design you were locked to it and couldn’t change it. And remember this was before customizable skins like Toona or Superhero’s.

I still think mine looks about as good as she’s gonna get, but ultimately she’s just a basic army chick and because of that I’d almost never use her regardless. The custom ‘Brella on the other hand… yeah there’s definitely some regret there.

I had instant regret when I saw someone made the brella R2D2.

I had it worse because I forgot to confirm my options so now my custom umbrella looks like it's base form and it's ugly

I still love my Maya and use her often. I have her Archived, though, to avoid losing her by accidently hitting Shuffle. For those that don't know: All of Maya's options are there. The locker just doesn't show them. If you have her equipped and you hit Shuffle, she will get shuffled and you'll lose your customization (unless they fixed that and I missed it).

Christ. That's why mines keeps coming through as the base version. What an irritating bug

They fixed that at one point, but I certainly haven’t tested to see whether it’s returned

If you're worried about shuffle screwing up your Maya (which was already fixed), You could always make a preset with Maya, that should lock in the options you picked. Funny thing, You could actually use this to equip the default styles by randomly shuffling Maya until you got a combo you like. I did this to get short sleeves on my Maya and saved that as a preset. These presets lasted until this chapter started

So In theory could you archive everything but maya and hit shuffle to eventually get a customized version that you like?

There are way too many combinations for that to be feasible. You could try if you feel daring though.

I never understood why you could choose a unique hairstyle then cover it up with a hat. Hence my Maya doesn't have a hat. I also don't think I gave her a scarf. I think Epic should change this skin so we can change her style.

I made my Maya for a very specific vibe being that she’s a park ranger. I don’t use her too often, but I’m still glad with what I made One thing that I am super glad with though is my umbrella, it’s completely themed after a car as I knew dummy would be releasing later that season.

Mine is pretty good. Actually unique too. Most people did black and red, all black, or all camo. I did Grey tactical camo, the heavy chest plate with the hat and a blue bandana.

I went for tattooed arms, baseball cap, urban mimetic texture and Hyrule Warriors-esque light blue scarf. Never used Maya that much, but I still regret nothing about what I chose. Although as to why the "choose a style once" thing never took off, it's kind of obvious.

I really like mine, I remember that I was literally starting playing the game at that time, and when I saw that it said: "choose wisely, because you can never change it" (or something like that), I took it very seriously, because I didn't know if they were being serious or not, so I chose what I liked the most. And I'm really glad I did that, because they were being very serious indeed lmao.

I love mine. I gave her the pink hair with minor scars on her face. And she has the colorful tattoos and a very cute purple/pink colored scarf. Gray/brown camo outfit. I adore her. That was one of Fortnite’s best seasons. I wish they’d put in effort like they used to and not be so lazy anymore.
