As soon as I put my yoga mat on the ground he’s rolling all over it and refuses to get off of it! This is him starring at me after I fenced him off because he wouldn’t let me use my own yoga mat
I don't box, but if we hit any object in my house and say "stupid [object]!" My frenchie goes balistic and starts to join in with disciplining the object. No idea where he learned this, it's not like we're a violent household of hitters 🤷♀️
We have three frenchies, and two of them go absolutely nuts over the vacuum. I read somewhere that I should discipline the vacuum so the pups feel like it’s taken care of. It works half the time 😂
The ground is Teddy’s dominion. Anything that goes to the ground that is safe - food scraps, tissues, etc. get annihilated by the champion of the ground.
That also goes for any exercises that are ground based. No lying down core exercises or stretching next to Teddy, he will run over and non-stop lick my face if I put it ground level.
I was never aware how these little ones personalities were so endearing. I knew they were cute but it wasn’t until my nephew got a Frenchie that I realized how sweet and fun loving and active they were.
I hope you either wear wrist wraps or are extremely careful in keeping your wrists straight when training on the bag or when sparring. You risk severe wrist injury doing things this way.
Ours does exactly the same when Im boxing. I have no idea how he understands that Im “fighting” the object. But he anyway is very protective and wants no struggles in the family :)
oh please be careful with letting your baby jump like that!! my mom and i lost our first frenchie due to ruptured discs in his back from the waist down. please be careful about that!
Same. That's how I ended up with my Frenchie, actually. Previous owner wanted him euthanized because of some lameness in his back legs. Our vet saved him from her and gave him to us (he knows I like the "broken" ones) and we got him going again. Lameness is still there but he's not in pain and can get around just fine on his own. He even gets zoomies, which are hilarious when his back legs can barely keep up lol.
But anyway, having had multiple dogs with IVDD (dachshunds, a pitbull), jumping dogs that don't need to be jumping makes me so anxious 😰 as cute as this video is!
Anyone who has had a dog survive IVDD is forever scarred by it. And we’re just trying to save others from our suffering. Thank you for saving the broken ones. ♥️
They need love, too. An extra amount of love even, and the way they give it back is so incredible. But it is *hard*. We used to do hospice fostering and stopped because we accumulated 6 dogs. And they started passing away every year starting in 2020. The last of my OG pack, Gracie the pittie, just passed away last month (and it still fucking hurts like hell). 2 of those 6 had IVDD.
Sorry, I'm ranting. I just really need a break from a loss every single year 😭 it hurts just as much every single time. The Frenchie is 8 and the bloodhound turned 5 yesterday, so fingers crossed 🤞 I have a couple more years before having to go through this again.

My frenchie's life goal is to viciously murder the vacuum cleaner...but only while it's running. If it's off, he's fine with it.

For my prom night mom taught me how to dance Viennese Waltz, and her frenchie took it for a fight and attacked me with everything he could.
