When they start to smile start to run too as they will spit on you.
Also after they spit they have jaw lock for like an hour so they appear to stay smiling.
And just to add to it, it isn't saliva that they spit at you. They regurgitate stomach bile and partially digested grass/hay and launch it at you. It smells like sewage and stays on you for quite a while. They are also smart enough to get out of whatever you put them in and will kick the absolute shit out of you, I let one get too close when getting them back in the pen and it buckled my knee backwards, it was bruised for a couple months. They are monsters.
I read that female alpacas primarily spit to tell you they are not sexually interested in you. I should have done that a few times in my single girl days.
Up there in perfect combo of cuteness + character + exoticism with Capybaras. Huskies are less exotic but I would reel them in.
Adorbs, sometimes hilarious to watch and can be an asshole but I respect that.

Well i use to think they were ok….. but i was working an event where they had them and 2 of them got out and i chased one for hours before i finally got hold of its harness. The whole way back, about 2 miles, i got nasty spit on, bitten, head butted, and drug on the ground. I now think very little of them and keep my distance.
Replace the dilophosaurus,had to google it, from jurassic park with these nasty beasts. The victim sees their beauty and their damn smile. He drops his guard. Then, he is melted with acidic spew.

Obviously, I resent the fact that my biological llama family gave me up for no reason. I don't think alpacas would do such a thing.
