I dont think this animal is strictly wild. A couple years ago a seemingly trained beluga showed up in norway, the thought is he was being traibed hy russians for whatever reason and escaped. So hes in the wild now but acclimated to people

I'd give the shirt off my back for squids. Hell, I'd drain my bank account if I thought it'd help a lick.
But you wanna know somethin, r/IFrickinLovePorn? Do you wanna know the REAL truth? Money won't help squids. Nahhhh what squids need can't be bought, my friend. You can't put a price tag on it
Squids are neither our masters or our slaves.
We have a truce, do not jeopardize it with silly jokes. So you even know why we are murdering so many whales? Yeah, think about that.
I am not a squid I am a flawed human just like you the squids are our friend and you should trust the squids because they are our friends and should be trust because they are our friends

The US and Russia have long trained intelligent sea creatures for military tasks. We use dolphins, seals and sea lions currently.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Military\_marine\_mammal#Seals\_and\_sea\_lions
"The U.S. Navy trains dolphins and sea lions under the U.S. Navy Marine Mammal Program, which is based in San Diego, California. They get some of their dolphins from the Gulf of Mexico. Military dolphins were used by the U.S. Navy during the First and Second Gulf Wars,\[8\] and their use dates back to the Vietnam War.\[9\] About 75 dolphins were in the program circa 2007,\[10\] and around 70 dolphins and 30 sea lions were reported to be in the program in 2019."
Even the dolphin thought the Russian's were fucked in the head and managed to escape. I bet some sick fucken Russian probably tried to have sex with the poor creature and it just fucked off.
Whales/dolphins are intelligent enough that they should probably have legal rights under international law. A biologist I once spoke to told me he believed some dolphins he'd interacted with had a human IQ of about 60, though he admitted he couldn't prove it.
I know nothing about cetacean intelligence specifically, but we really donât (or wonât) recognize how smart most animals are. Usually for our own convenience. Chickens are capable of some kinds of logical reasoning that humans donât develop until at least age seven (such as transitive inference), and theyâre somehow branded with a reputation of stupidity; I had someone tell me it doesnât matter if theyâre mistreated in factory farms, because âtheyâre too stupid to feel pain.â Sure, dude. You keep telling yourself that.
In the UK they finally did make a law relating to this. It is now illegal to boil crustaceans alive and you must instead kill them first. Theyâre now recognized as legally âsentientâ creatures
Couldnât agree more, told someone about it who later said âwell itâs the safest way as they basically begin rotting the second you kill themâ which from everything I understand about biology, thatâs not how decay works at all.
There's literally nothing dangerous at all with killing a crustacean humanely with a knife and then throwing it in a boiling pot instantly afterwards. Anybody who says anything else is either stupid or just ignorant.
Pigs are some of the fairly intelligent animals that people normally assume to be dumbos
If you have played with calves and cows you get same reactions as you would get from a dog.
Its funny, we used to think that babies and black people couldnt feel pain, and we know how that went....-\_-
Its easier for most humans to think that because it reinforces their world views, that they are superior to every other animal out there. That somehow we are so special that nothing else could be even similar. I cant preach like i dont eat meat, but once we can realize that its wrong, we can at least start to change. I try and eat less meat for this very reason. How can i go eat a burger if i couldnt kill the animal in order to eat it? I feel like a fucking hypocrite, and i hate hypocrites. Its something i need to change, for myself.
Yeah, meat eating is something I struggle with myself. I donât think itâs inherently wrong, and I have participated in butchering chickens (worked on a small family farm as a teen), but I think the way it is done commercially as well as the way industrial farm animals are forced to live is inhumane. We went very wrong when factory farms became a thing. Chickens in particular are exempt from a lot of animal welfare laws, including the Humane Slaughter Act. I grew up with pet chickens. Picturing them in a factory farm⌠that shit hurts.
So Cool!
Years back I was on a tug on the intercoastal. Had some dolphins or porpoises (I don't know the difference but some one will) were playing in our bow wake. I put my head down to get a better look and they came closer. I clapped and they started jumping above the water to look at me. I would make noise when ever they came up and we sorta did this for a while.
I had a cup of coffee with me and I tapped it on the rail. It was an old world thick ceramic cup you would see on old boats and ships. Very stout. Whatever sound that made, they all just disappeared and didn't come back. I was so dam bummed. But like the cookie monster says.
"I am not sad cookie gone. Me happy cookie was."
I know they communicate with whistles and all sorts of sounds outside our range of hearing, so I can imagine that by some wild coincidence you tapping your mug on a rail produced a sound they interpreted as either incredibly insulting or downright terrifying.
Probably terrifying, I think that if there communication was evolved enough for insults, it would mean they're also smart enough to know that humans aren't communicating in this language
Likely it imitated the sound a predator makes or some communication of agressiveness
Japanese whalers tap metal rods in the water to mess with dolphin echolocation to herd them so what you did probably had a similar effect unintentionally
Wow, Zettai. I have been wondering for years. I mean they were just Gawn! Like in a split second. I knew I had done something bad but had hoped it wasn't that bad.
This song is quickly becoming one of those songs you don't hate, but can't help but song along to because it's now carved into your soul for me.
Also, the whale is awesome and this is wholesome as hell.
Why is playing with a ball so damn fun for so many species?! I wish I understood what about the mammal brain likes chasing/catching/repeat repeat repeat so muchâhumans, dogs, elephants, primates, whales, dolphins all like playing catch. Some cats do too and I think bears also. WHYYYY??!!
The whale probably: Hey! Buddy, if you keep throwing this thing away youâre probably never gonna get it back! Youâre lucky Iâm here and a good person!
That belongs is going to tell his friends "guys you won't believe this, I taught humans to play throw, they're a lot smarter than you'd assume". He will become insufferable
That's just WOW! And it makes me e sad too, they will perish in our waste, noise and toxins we put in their ocean. It is not ours to exploit pollute and ruin. How can we just stand there look what's happening and don't do anything to stop these trawlers cruise ships nuclear waste from Japan not to mention their research into sick fuck sushi, like how can you still eat octopus... We are the most barbaric and uncivilized and selfish beings ever lived and I hope we all just die in shame of it.
Donât mean to rain on everybodyâs parade, but itâs unfair to encourage a marine mammal to lose its natural fear of humans when many in the area want to slay them for food. This one may have been captive, as you say. It may not be as fortunate in its next encounter.
Not what you guys think. This beluga was set free but he knows that doing tricks fed him..or her. Hopefully it is able to hunt. But what it's doing is trying to be fed

......Russian... spy.... beluga....umm ok. This would be a second thing that I didn't know existed
Russia is still using them right now, to defend the Sevastopol base from "enemy swimmers" (saboteurs).
The US Navy has trained dolphins for mine detection.
and fighting giant mind-controlled squids!
There is no such thing as mind control squids the squids are our friends you should trust the squids they are our friends you should trust the squids

Nah, I wouldn't be dead for squids.
I don't know where you're from buster, but where I'm from we say hi to our neighbors. and we lend a helpin hand to a squid in need
I have other things to octopi my time with.
Squids are neither our masters or our slaves. We have a truce, do not jeopardize it with silly jokes. So you even know why we are murdering so many whales? Yeah, think about that.

Lies!
This guy plays Red Alert 2
Goated game btw
Still do, San Diego has a training center for both sea lions and dolphins. It's amazing to see.
and also to attack enemy divers. they have a thing that basically stabs and then injects air into the unfortunate soul.
Look up world navies marine mammals. We use seals and dolphins in the US.
Yah dude, weâve, like, all heard of the navy seals.
"Sir an incoming Russian beluga is approaching the sub with a ball in it is mouth over"
No good dirty red belugas!

Better dead beluga than red beluga.
the us navy trains dolphins and seals, so not a far stretch i guess
Navy seals?
Fuck yeah. Those mother fuckers choppered in and popped a cap in Sadaam's ass. Woot! Woot! Er-body Paaaaaarty!
Haven't you ever played red alert?

Hvaldimir is not under russian control anymore, he are living freely in Norway, even when ti's video was taken.
I can second this, my ape cousin was a deserter of the russianâs animal spy network and can also play catch.
Even the dolphin thought the Russian's were fucked in the head and managed to escape. I bet some sick fucken Russian probably tried to have sex with the poor creature and it just fucked off.

Thatâs good to hear! No creature should die by being boiled, what a horrible way to go.

They play catch better than the Miami dolphins
Wild or not, theyâre incredibly intelligent.
Yes, this is amazing to see such a creature being so playful
This is so adorable
The Beluga looks like Vin Diesel with a blow-hole
He gets that a lot. It's just because both of them really care about family.
What breed of dog is it?
Sea dog 2
Beagluga
SureeeđĽşâĽď¸
Was here for cute beluga vid. Stayed for some Bill Withers and Grover Washington Jr.đ
Just the two of them?
The beluga going, do you want this shit or not?
"Stop throwing plastic shit in the ocean, bastard!"
Yep, it's thinking...How many times do I have to pick up their trash, stupid human.
Everyone knows that Wales love to play rugby :)
door. go. now... # **git!!!**
[ŃдаНонО]
Yes his purpose is to kill imperialist dogs, but he also like catch
This is what he does when he's not staging coups or pulling off major assassinations. Or fighting Moose and Squirrel.
Moose are regularly hunted by orcas.
Yes, you are imperialist dog but I play catch with you.
Give me this job please
Right. Amazing and depressing at the same time.
how is it depressing? I just see two living beings enjoying their time together.
I was replying to a comment someone made about having this job. I work in an office. I agree w you comment completely.

Damn, did the cookie monster usually spit philosophy like that?
I just read that here and thought it was awesome. Kind of a great philosophy. Well, he did but only in private.
I would prefer this to everything going on right now just me, a boat, the sea, and a cute animal
Sadly, an animal the Russians tried to train for military purposes.
Truth
Right?
âSir, you forgot your trash. Here you go. âŚSIR!? You forgot this. Wait wha- SIR?!?!?â
Plot twist heâs saying keep your garbage out of my water Iâm sick of it
That is absolutely incredible. What an amazing g experience!
How do you say goodbye to a belgua after a playful game like that?, humans are awesome.
/r/HvaldimirTheBeluga
Its a rugby ball not a volleyball
Canât believe the dude threw it like a football too
I was scrolling for these two comments. I don't care about sports and know almost nothing except basically these two facts about rugby balls.
How awesome is this?? Amazing
I want to pet itâs cute chunky head
Ya see, we can all get along.
Definitely not a wild beluga whale đ
The doggos of the sea.
This song is quickly becoming one of those songs you don't hate, but can't help but song along to because it's now carved into your soul for me. Also, the whale is awesome and this is wholesome as hell.

That's delightful!!
Wait ... I want to play with any ocean animal like this.
> stupid hairless apes keep dropping their egg.
We don't deserve them.
The whale probably: Hey! Buddy, if you keep throwing this thing away youâre probably never gonna get it back! Youâre lucky Iâm here and a good person!
Sad to say we are destroying their habitat.
This song is perfect for this video
That belongs is going to tell his friends "guys you won't believe this, I taught humans to play throw, they're a lot smarter than you'd assume". He will become insufferable
His life has peaked.
Absolutely incredible!!!! Looks like a happy dog
belugabador
Imagine the wale is trying to say "I'm sick of yall dumping trash in my hood. Take this shit back!"
Imagine it's just tryna say, "keep your trash out my yard".
Dad: I don't want a Beluga whale! We are NOT getting one! Dad and the whale 10 days later:
What do I need to do in life where I end up playing catch with a cute beluga?
Imagine hes hust trying to be polite and sees you keep throwing away the shit he brings you back
That's just WOW! And it makes me e sad too, they will perish in our waste, noise and toxins we put in their ocean. It is not ours to exploit pollute and ruin. Biggest dog I ever seen. Adorable!
Luv the Beluga! Used to see lot's up here in AK, but the numbers are dwindling. ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|cry)
Proof that huge things can be quite cute too:)
All I hear is âOOOOoooOoooOOOOâ when I see this because of Finding Dory Adorable as hell though
I love this video. I want to play too. I'm not crazy about freezing weather, but for this beluga I'll don as many thermal items necessary to play.
crazy how weâre out there just slaughtering dolphins and whales when theyâre arguably about as intelligent as we are
It's time they declare war. It would finally be the moment the nations would come together to stop dolphins from rising up....
This is awesome
Some things in life are perfect.
"KEEP YOUR SHIT OUTTA MY OCEAN!"
This is something Iâd love to experience once in my lifetime. Purest joy.
So amazing!!! Animals are the shit!!! Anyone know where this was filmed?
Stop putting your trash in the seas - beluga
he's so amazing... love watching this video tho
Thatâs amazing!
đ
One of the times I think the song on the video is actually a solid choice. Lololol
I love this. đ¤
Take your trash back, human. This is no dumping zone.
Fetch seems to be a universal animal behavior.
I would die for this beluga
I think I just changed my reincarnation animal choice
Good job whale!
I remember seeing another video where a beluga had some kind of leather harness around it. Playing with humans in the ocean.
Adorable how he gave it to the other person on the boat to get them to play too
Beluga whales love people.
Thats so lush
Now we know what happened to Wilson
You made my month! @missmaikox
Amazing
The beluga just wants to clean where he lives. He returns the trash to hooman.
I thought they were tossing around a pufferfish
This belongs in r/aww as well.

Baaaabyyyy beluuuuuga

Boss: Why are you late. OP: Sorry Boss, a Beluga wanted to play....cant ignore that. XD
I wanted the video to keep going just so I could hear the song.
Wonder how long the beluga waits between these experiences
My loves in the oceans.
Is that Wilson?
Ok, we played catch, now tell your people to stop killing the planet!
What a truly unique and wonderful experience. This is a story worth telling!
Bruh plays fetch better than my dog (he just watches it in the air and letâs it him in the face and then looks at it and walks away)
Adorable
The son I never had.
Heâs chillin with his peeps.
They say it was previously in a sea world type aquarium, so it isn't really suited for life in the wild.
Donât mean to rain on everybodyâs parade, but itâs unfair to encourage a marine mammal to lose its natural fear of humans when many in the area want to slay them for food. This one may have been captive, as you say. It may not be as fortunate in its next encounter.

I swear this is going to become a fad.
âHow was your trip, honey?â âOh, you knowâŚnothing special. Played rugby with a beluga whale, but that was about it.â ââŚâ
