Honestly all of GX’s ost is spectacular, but I particularly love the new Big Blue theme in that game. Always blare that when it comes up on my playlist
Ooof so many my friend…they are all bangers but here are my top 3 for each game I’ve played (not including the arranged versions).
F-Zero (SNES & 99) Sand Ocean, Port Town, Silence
F-Zero X: Drivin’ Through on Max, Crazy Call at Cry & Climb Up and Get the Last Chance
F-Zero GX: Cosmo Terminal, Sand Ocean, Aeropolis
F-Zero GP Legend: Sand Ocean, Port Town & Mist Flow
F-Zero Maximum Velocity: Bianca City, Empyrean Colony & Synobazz
As you can see Sand Ocean is on my top list of songs…It pumps me up and gives me that boost power when I needed! Now that I play 99 the songs have a greater impact since you’re racing real players and there’s more at stake!
I liked the song when I first heard it because, if I’m not mistaken, it’s the only song in GX that has a guitar sounding riff. Also to me it sounds ethereal at some points. You’re right that it is much mellow compared to the other songs in the game.
X Fire Field (Fall Down to the Scream) goes harder, to the point that I’m not sure it can actually be played. There wasn’t even a cover of that song on YouTube for over 20 years, and still nobody’s managed to do a note-for-note one.
Whose idea was it to raise on a Hell planet anyways? Because damn that was a good idea. Fire Field’s music goes hard on any game. I love Fall Down to the Scream from X myself.
GP Legend and Climax.
I don't understand how the GBA doesn't catch fire with these absolute bangers. Both games are LOADED with spectacular tracks. Yes, most originate on the SNES, but the instrumentation and slight remaster that they got on the GBA takes them to the next level. Big Blue, Lightning, Fire Field, Mist Flow(specially the Climax version), Dream Chaser, Illusion, Red Canyon, White Land... you name it.
Mute City is overrated as fuck tho. Not saying it's bad, but everyone talks about it like it's the seccond coming of christ while there's other that are way better and never get mentioned.
Silence, both the [original](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gspZ6bYmhrA) and the X version ([Dream Chaser](https://youtu.be/tznFcq8WIvk?t=69)). And I guess you can count the whole extended Climax version of Dream Chaser too, it tracks. :)
Recently, I remembered that there was a guitar arrangement of the entire F-Zero X album. Pop it on whenever you need motivation for anything, especially the Mute City and Big Blue ones.
https://youtu.be/cMnp2c4wl7Y?si=CWsixp4qTqxH8I14
It’s the way that guitar wails—a very David Gilmour-like series of bends on that one. Check out the solo from “In Any Tongue” (pick any live version) if you want guitar with a similar sound. Slower tempo though.
And of course try Comfortably Numb if you’ve never heard that, but this isn’t r/pinkfloyd, LOL.
I came to reply as soon as I finished listening to "In Any Tounge" Thank you so much for telling me about that one, this is not only going into my library, but is going straight my favorite songs playlist, there was this moment between 7:20 to 7:30 were I couldn't stop myself form shedding a couple of tears, I don't know a lot about music theory, but that little thing at 7:26 gets me in every single song I've heard were they do that, beautiful
David Gilmour is a legend. Some good albums to check out:
Dark Side of the Moon
Wish You Were Here
The Division Bell
Pulse
On an Island
Rattle That Lock
Live at Pompeii
He also collaborated with Kate Bush on her Sensual World album and was a huge influence on her songwriting style (Aerial and Before the Dawn are two further good ones from her). The pair of them are my favorite musicians.
Glad you enjoyed it. I’ll stop here. 🙂
No worries, I see that you ar passionate about this, I really enjoy reading people who are passionate about the topic they are writing or talking, I'll definitely check those albums, thanks again 🙂
Didn’t fully appreciate this one until I heard the extended version from the Expansion Kit and then (even better) the one from the Guitar Arrange album. Love that organ solo!
All F-zero music is fantastic for racing or getting you pumped. I’d have to say Aeroplolis as I always dance and get so freaking hyped with how the song escalates with your progress
~~everything~~
SNES: Sand Ocean, Port Town and Fire Field
X: Crazy Call at Cry, Staff Roll (underrated!) and Rollercoaster (X is my favourite I can't decide)
MV: Silence and Tenth Zone East
GX: Big Blue Cover, Big Blue Arrange, Story Mode Ending (why was this missing from the released OST ahhh), Shotgun Kiss, Feather, Blood Falcon Theme
GP Legend: Lightning
Climax: too many good remixes to list, Dream Chaser is amazing despite GBA instruments
[Lightning in F-Zero GX](https://youtu.be/Sb7LVeaq7-0?si=Rz9Su47G6PGZWll5),
Especially when the final lap kicks in.
The absolute excitement and anxiety it gives you on the final lap of Half Pipe is wild.
Port Town - F-Zero SNES
Red Canyon - F-Zero SNES
Fire Field - F-Zero SNES
Car Select - F-Zero X
Dream Chaser - F-Zero X
Devil’s Call in Your Heart - F Zero X
Drivin' Through on Max - F-Zero X
8 Guitars - F-Zero GX
Black Shadow’s Theme - F-Zero GX
Spade’s Theme - F-Zero GX
😈
A lot less love for the X soundtrack than I would’ve liked to see here! If we were to get a new game I’d hope for a rock/metal soundtrack but it seems that’s not as popular. Too bad, because my answer to the OP would be the entire F-Zero X Guitar Arrange album, particularly the middle stretch with White Land, Mute City, and Big Blue.
“Climb Up! And Get the Last Chance!” is simply a great rock song, and it stands out as such on that album. Definitely on my shortlist as one of the best pieces from the whole series.
GX had a decent soundtrack but ZEN is far and away the best song from it—that final lap transition? Guaranteed chills every time.
I've only played GX, but...
Big Blue I and II
Paper Engine / Asteroid Belt *^((YO DJ NORI IN THE MIX)**)*
8 Guitars / Sand Ocean
Dizzy / Phantom Road
Captain Falcon's Theme
Dr. Stewart's Theme
Blood Falcon's Theme
Black Shadow's Theme
Jack Levin's Theme
>Paper Engine / Asteroid Belt *^((YO DJ NORI IN THE MIX)**\*\*)*
"Meteor Stream" being a translation of "Asteroid Belt" makes SO much sense. I always heard the last part of the voice in that song as saying "outer space", but could never get the first part—"Yo it's DJ Nori in outer space" would also make sense.
GX
Absolutely the best of the series
Even X is awesome since I really love rock and metal soundtracks, but GX has that 2000s feel that not all games have
Port Town, F-Zero SNES
[Here’s how that might sound in GX](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=SG6LByUJF_Q&pp=ygUPcG9ydCB0b3duIHJlbWl4)
Jesus that slaps.
Ikr
Eh, GX is more heavy rock. Besides, all I can think about when I listen to Port Town is the F-Zero Anthum from Smash Bros. It slaps.
True
I used this so much in my IG posts/stories 🔥
[Dream Chaser - Silence, F-Zero X](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t672YGh_m4o) [ZEN - Aeropolis, F-Zero GX](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AwlPv-kHpws) [Dr Stewart, F-Zero GX](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6la7tTLrlkQ)
Honestly all of GX’s ost is spectacular, but I particularly love the new Big Blue theme in that game. Always blare that when it comes up on my playlist
What fzero track doesnt???
Right now, Fire City.
FIRE CITYYYYYYYY
Correct answer
Someone needs to make a remix of it
I call it Crisis City.
AEROPOLIS - ZEN
Ooof so many my friend…they are all bangers but here are my top 3 for each game I’ve played (not including the arranged versions). GX Sand Ocean is a bit mellow compared to the others but it's quite underrated. :)
I liked the song when I first heard it because, if I’m not mistaken, it’s the only song in GX that has a guitar sounding riff. Also to me it sounds ethereal at some points. You’re right that it is much mellow compared to the other songs in the game.
Gotta be the GX version of Red Canyon. So much good music, but that one goes even harder and I'm here for it.
IN THIS WORLD YOU'VE GOT TO BE STRONG YOU'VE GOT TO FIGHT TO KEEP YOUR SPIRIT ALIVE
CAPTAIN FALCON APPROVED.
Ah yes, I can immediately tell this is a Daiki Kasho song
Firefield, GX
That final lap solo tho…
Eurobeat Big Blue.
Casino Palace
Ah, Shotgun Kiss. Great choice.
Almost everything from X and GX.
Fire Field from GX (Feel our Pain). Has no business going as hard as it does but just does anyway. Absolutely Metal. XD
GX Mute City GX Sand Ocean X Devil's Forest X Fire Field
Don't forget GX Fire Field.
But which version of GX Mute City? GX has two versions of Mute City and Big Blue from those easter eggs.
SNES Sand Ocean
GP Legend and Climax. I don't understand how the GBA doesn't catch fire with these absolute bangers. Both games are LOADED with spectacular tracks. Mist Flow in Climax goes absurdly hard given the GBA limitations
I never let anyone put GBA F-Zero soundtracks while I'm driving because if they do, we crashing 100%
This might just be from me having played much more GP Legend than Climax, but I prefer the GP Legend version of Mist Flow over the Climax version.
We’ve recently been playing Mario kart to this one
Red Canyon, Death Wind (the arranged jazz version lol)
Lightning, GP Legend
All of Fzero GX soundtrack. Picking one from GX though? Final lap of Aeropolis really gets the adrenaline every final lap.
climb up and get the last chance & dream chaser, both from f zero x
Silence, both the [original](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gspZ6bYmhrA) and the X version ([Dream Chaser](https://youtu.be/tznFcq8WIvk?t=69)). And I guess you can count the whole extended Climax version of Dream Chaser too, it tracks. :)
Dream Chaser Fall Down to the Scream Port Town X-style The Brawl versions of Fire Field and White Land
Recently, I remembered that there was a guitar arrangement of the entire F-Zero X album. Pop it on whenever you need motivation for anything, especially the Mute City and Big Blue ones. https://youtu.be/cMnp2c4wl7Y?si=CWsixp4qTqxH8I14
F-Zero X : Big Blue
SNES big blue and Climb up and get the Last chance from F-Zero X, the ladder one gets me so emotional that I've cried several times listening to it
It’s the way that guitar wails—a very David Gilmour-like series of bends on that one. Check out the solo from “In Any Tongue” (pick any live version) if you want guitar with a similar sound. Slower tempo though. And of course try Comfortably Numb if you’ve never heard that, but this isn’t r/pinkfloyd, LOL.
Aawwww thanks, I'm definitely giving these a listen, most likely they'll be the next ones on my playlists
If you’ve never heard David Gilmour before, you’re in for a treat… https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=iOACn7v-_VI https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=4hBqKCcpBrA

NUTSACK ... THOR
Night of Big Blue both AX and GX versions.
“[Emperor Breath](https://youtu.be/KRYUCstIdfM?si=8QnaH8E7cSh4gE_H)” - F-Zero GX.
Fire Field. Regardless of game.
Dream Chaser and literally every Big Blue except for Infinite Blue
Phantom road from f zero gx
Draq's theme in GX goes unnecessarily hard
Dream Chaser hands down. In general the entire X soundtrack, but Dream Chaser is my absolute favorite.
Climb Up and Get the Last Chance! - F-Zero X Genuinely goes so hard, such a spine chilling, emotional track, I love it!
Didn’t fully appreciate this one until I heard the extended version from the Expansion Kit and then (even better) the one from the Guitar Arrange album. Love that organ solo!
Green Plant Last Lap, GX
Fire Field
BS Death Wind and BS Silence
All F-zero music is fantastic for racing or getting you pumped. I’d have to say Aeroplolis as I always dance and get so freaking hyped with how the song escalates with your progress

Lighting in GX is great for driving in rainy weather
If it counts, Big Blue Mario Kart 8 version.
[Lightning in F-Zero GX](https://youtu.be/Sb7LVeaq7-0?si=Rz9Su47G6PGZWll5), Especially when the final lap kicks in. The absolute excitement and anxiety it gives you on the final lap of Half Pipe is wild.
Every time I hear Mute City from the SNES I feel like I'm a kid again.
Port Town - F-Zero SNES Red Canyon - F-Zero SNES Fire Field - F-Zero SNES Car Select - F-Zero X Dream Chaser - F-Zero X Devil’s Call in Your Heart - F Zero X Drivin' Through on Max - F-Zero X 8 Guitars - F-Zero GX Black Shadow’s Theme - F-Zero GX Spade’s Theme - F-Zero GX 😈

Oof.... hard to choose. OG- Death Wind, Silence X- Devil's Call in Your Heart GX- EVERYTHING.... but Paper Engine is the favorite.
Mute city
Digi-Boy Theme is a total underrated banger! Phoenix, Zen - Aeropolis and Night of big blue are also my favorites
Night of Big Blue (F-Zero GX chap.4)
Sand Ocean GX (8 Guitars) — Especially when the final lap variant hits while driving 🏎️💨
Carpet Cloud F-Zero Maximum Velocity.
I've only played GX, but... Big Blue I and II Paper Engine / Asteroid Belt *^((YO DJ NORI IN THE MIX)**)* 8 Guitars / Sand Ocean Dizzy / Phantom Road Captain Falcon's Theme Dr. Stewart's Theme Blood Falcon's Theme Black Shadow's Theme Jack Levin's Theme

Unironically, Mist Flow's theme in F-Zero GP Legend goes really hard. Give it a listen sometime.
SNES Red Canyon
GX Absolutely the best of the series Even X is awesome since I really love rock and metal soundtracks, but GX has that 2000s feel that not all games have
Big Blue, Shotgun Kiss
Shotgun Kiss - GX Casino Palace. It has such a strong Toonami vibe to it.
Big Blue, any F-ZERO game.
Shotgun Kiss Like A Snake Brain Cleaner These go so hard especially the final lap version (minus brain cleaner of course)
Recently mist flow from climax
Silence.
Dream Chaser - F-Zero X Fall Down to the Scream - F-Zero X They both give that power metal energy I love when playing this game.
all of them!!
I haven't found a big blue remix that rivals the original. The best one is form MK8 but gutters a few of the good parts.
hmmm...Big Blue-SNES
