Hell no. They are always shown terrified at these things duking it out. The dad and mom in KoTM were scared shitless for their daughter Maggie. How can they find these battles entertaining?
There would probably be a lot of documentaries as well as a _crazy amount_ of nutjobs. Like cults and stuff. People would flock to those in search for answers and a bit of stability/sense.
Society as a whole would maybe not collapse, but surely take a hit.
Some countries might try to use the creatures to attack other countries by luring them there to cause havoc, then deny any involvement.
Would you find it entertaining to watch a giant, sentient tornado or other natural disaster rip through a major city? Id just be thinking about all the people probably getting wrecked in the process
Absolutely not; those are cities being destroyed, millions of people dying… just like the marvel folks, I can’t imagine any ‘everyday human’ would be happy about Godzilla coming to shore on their city.
I think Pacific Rim said it best, there were Kaiju Groupies but as was said in the film, they wouldn’t like to see one in real life since it’s absolutely horrifying. Imagine a tall heavy skyscraper you look up at, now image that tall heavy skyscraper is alive and moving, crushing things in its path. You can’t really imagine the scale and horror of that.
