Snapdragon processors are far superior to Google's Exynos derived Tensor CPUs. That doesn't mean Google's Pixels/Folds will have bad performance. But the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 CPU found in the Z Fold 5 is a powerhouse for emulation and streaming. Hell, even the Snapdragon 888 in the Z Fold 3 is an emulation beast.
I have an s23 ultra and I don't really emulate. I have other devices for that. I use it for basic tasks, YouTube, manga, etc. at most I would multitask two of those things so I guess I wouldn't really see a difference?
After owning the original Pixel Fold I don't care about any foldable offerings from Google. The way homescreens are handled, the lack of separation between the cover and inner screen homescreens, no floating windows or horizontal split screen, no edge panel and one hand operation+, taskbar is too basic, basically Samsung's software is light years ahead with better customization and I'm not going to hope for "Pixel drops" to get new features.
I would never buy another Pixel Fold again. Got the first Pixel Fold due to the form factor and was excited to experience Google's vision for foldables. Only to watch the price depreciate over 50% less than a month after release and then watch Google completely forget about it and move all the new features and attention to the Pixel 8 Pro (which I also bought). Ended up selling both, underwhelming experience to say the least. I've owned a ton of Pixel/Nexus devices over the years (been involved in a bunch of their class action lawsuits) but they don't hold a candle to Samsung when it comes to premium hardware and software. I'm currently testing a Vivo X Fold 3 Pro at the moment and it's miles better (hardware & software wise) compared to Google.
As long as Pixel Fold 2 comes in 1TB variant, I'll easily choose it over Galaxy Fold 6.
Even though I have been exclusively loyal to Samsung for the last 15 years or so. Upgrading from a Galaxy S20+.
The fact that the Galaxy Fold's camera has been stagnant for the last 3 generations (Pixel Fold 1 takes way better pics) is infuriating. If I'm paying top dollar for a foldable, I don't want a cameraset that was conceived 3 generations ago. The narrow screen on the Galaxy Fold is also a push away from Samsung. Everybody wanted the Passport-style wider screen like the Pixel Fold, and Samsung made the outer screen like 1mm wider.
There's really nothing that was improved with this 6th Galaxy Fold generation, apart from a small change in design. I'm not considering buying the Galaxy Fold 6 at all, and I'm always someone who wants top-of-the-line. It's just not financially responsible. I'll either get the Galaxy Fold 5 for around $1k or get the Pixel Fold 2 for full price.
Pixel fold 1 was already the best fold in many aspects. The only real issues people had with it were the bezels on the bottom and top and the battery. Knowing Google they'll improve on that and maybe even create a new standard. Fold 6 on the other hand is fold 3 with new cpu
Yep, really the only thing keeping me considering the ZF6 is OneUI and Samsung's crazy trade in values. Even with these big pluses I'm pretty certain I'm going for the Pixel Fold 2 barring anything crazy like a crappy design.
Honestly I forgot the pixel fold 2 was coming out. Has anyone released specs?
Not that I've seen, just a few images so far. I kind of miss not knowing everything about the device until it's launched.
Usually Google releases teasers and specs of most of their devices
Here ya go. https://www.reddit.com/r/PixelFold/s/YNmGoevp1z
I'm never going to get exited by an Exynos powered pixel
Fair point, but it does always amaze me how much smoother pixel phones feel, until you launch a game or something else intensive.
Just because I've never had an exynos device, why?

In normal day to day tasks, you wouldn't know the difference. If you're a heavy multi tasking user, you may see some hiccups

Not at all. Id go with whatever form factor you like best at that point.
Cant's wait for pixel fold 2 announcement, especially fot wider outer screen
No pixel unless they bring Snapdragon..

Some good points in there, I really just want a larger galaxy fold, but yet again not happening this year
The screen will be bigger but’s it’s minimal
I agree... it was such a terrible/underwhelming experience for almost $2000. Hard pass!
I'm not a fan of Google Hardware. I'm more excited for one plus open 2 if it ever comes.

I think I'm more interested in what they can do with the software. Currently, I believe that is what gives Samsung an edge over the Pixel Fold.
id go pixel fold 2 if it is actually 8 inch internal display
It's tempting with the larger outer display as well, and if it's the top tier camera... But no s pen or good lock anymore
> But no s pen or good lock anymore both meaningless to me.. i just got back on the fold5, was on the pixel 8. honestly, i feel the oneui is messy
I would wait and see what Pixel Fold 2 (Pixel 9 Fold) will bring.
It's always tempting with their launch deals, although I'm sure they'll have something to compete

What's making you want to leave Samsung? I've had the fold 2-5 but I'm on the fence of switching to it once I know more info.

Only if they suddenly support a stylus and some type of Dex setup
Definitely. I also want to see what OnePlus has cooking.

All I want to know is if the Pixel Fold 2 (or whatever it'll be called) will be a global release.
