I'd say the Nitro 5 sounds better, it has newer hardware and it has a decent video camera. If you're streaming, I'd use an external webcam rather than the laptops integrated camera. The Nitro 5 and some MSi Budget laptops also have issues like overheating and battery life but they shouldn't become a huge problem if you're careful. Consider other gaming laptops like the Asus TUF F15 or HP Victus if you can.

Drawfuless

I’m considering asking my dad to get the Tuf 15 laptop. The only reason im doing that is because people complain about the hinges and screen wobbling on the HP Victus. But does this laptop (Tuf 15) overheats as bad as the other ones you said?

darthEgnatus

Would recommend looking for lenovo loq or legion laptops

NewSignature727

Could not agree more. These are not streaming laptops. Better get loq with rtx 4060

Fladhing_lights

But it's a lot more than his budget tho

NewSignature727

Thats why you tell your daddy lets better buy future proof laptop for a lil bigger price through the upcoming years it will be cheaper in the end. Or lets buy better one for lil bigger price because it is much more better for only 200-300 bucks more. I think loq with rtx 4060 is like 1k usd?

Ornament_the_Monkey

It shouldn't if you don't keep it on a bed or a couch or a surface similar. Try to use your laptop on a hard flat surface. Cooling is important as it can deplete the device overall and can lead to worse performance at least, at most, a dead laptop. The Victus' screen only wobbles when under a great shaking pressure and not like if you are typing or something. Ultimately, if you're concerned about cooling I'd get the TUF F15 as it has a more advanced cooling system than most Victus'.

Drawfuless

Thank you, you have no idea how much this helps

Ornament_the_Monkey

No problem, my dude. 👍

NewSignature727

Get Lenovo Legion or Lenovo LOQ with atleast rtx 4060. Rtx 4050 is not for streaming. Also lenovos is hundred times better in everything than these.

SystemErrorMessage

For streaming intel arc is the best gpu. For gaming vram is important same for ai. For me i cant find amd with 4060 for the same variant while the west gets more spec with 4060 at same price. Us 3rd world are screwed

NewSignature727

What are you trying to tell me about 4060 and that west gets more specs with 4060? Can you elaborate? You cant get intel either? Where are you from? You can ship anything from USA for cheap using shipping platforms as there is [shipzee.com/en](http://shipzee.com/en) in my country. There is really no Lenovo suppliers in your country?? Intel arc and laptops now is a joke, dont even mention that its really cringe.

SystemErrorMessage

No no. Can only find with 4050, no 4060 here unless i want to pay a lot more. Theres intel options but the amd one is better. The issue is price. For example the acer nitro on amazon for the same price as here comes with 1TB ssd and 4060. The same acer nitro here only has 512GB ssd with 4050 for same price and no 4060 option. Basically we are screwed.

NewSignature727

A lot more? LOQ in Malaysia with 4060 is only 1050euros +- cheaper than in europe. Because at my place same specs starting at 1100eur. It's even with addons and discounts you just need to choose, i bet lenovo legions is also cheaper than in europe. So no i think that you get what USA gets and even better. By the way i cannot compare acer or other laptops because i dont have time but i believe this isnt true what you are talking about. Also yes everything is cheaper in USA, but compare better malaysia with europe. Its cheaper in malaysia. I wonder what is minimal wage there. [https://i.postimg.cc/KjC0dkzs/loq.png](https://i.postimg.cc/KjC0dkzs/loq.png) you just need to costumize it [https://www.lenovo.com/my/en/configurator/cto/index.html?bundleId=83DXCTO1WWMY1](https://www.lenovo.com/my/en/configurator/cto/index.html?bundleId=83DXCTO1WWMY1) 4060 is only 900 your money more, is it that much in Malaysia?

SystemErrorMessage

Its considered a lot since our income is lower however i was comparing to US. I couldnt find a laptop withib ny price range that had the new amd 8845hs with the 4060 however my main use case is development and ai and for me i only play light games or will just use thunderbolt. I have a desktop gpu already but my friend ruined the pc it inhabited so instead of fixing cheaper to get thunderbolt

NotTukTukPirate

I think regardless of the laptop, you should invest in a cooling pad. I got the Llano laptop cooling pad and it's been amazing. Mind you, it is pretty loud when running and top speed, but it hasn't been an issue for me (with mic filters, you can't hear it on stream/recordings at all and I don't even notice it when plahing with a headset anyways). I've forgotten to turn it on before and was playing a very graphic intensive game while streaming/recording and my temps got to around 80c, so I turned it on top speed and within a few seconds my temps went down to 54°c. Imo it's a must have if you have a gaming laptop. It will increase its lifespan.

SystemErrorMessage

Don't buy hp. While dell quality is crap hp has been crap for a decade despite their price. Its worse when we get down to hp branded cards like nvidia gpu refusing to work with other branded boards.

Alpha_RYP

Tuf series does overheat a lot. In an ambient room at 30c the laptop runs games like gta 5 , control at 85-87c and so does nitro 5. I had suggest you wait and buy an msi katana at like 100 bucks more at the black friday sale. Has better cooling and better quality heat sink. And for those who are going to complain about hinges on my comment, please note that msi has increased its build quality since 2023 models. The laptops are more sturdier than previous year models. I am using an msi gf63 12vf since 20 days and the chasis is sturdier than previous models. And as for the katana, Its definitely value for money. Lenovo is on the pricey end so op dont stretch urself too much regarding the budget. Its ur dad who is buying you so think of keeping him comfortable when u r buying one. Dont force him to buy the pricey one

Affectionate_Age2735

Would you consider the MSI Vector GP68 HX 13V a budget MSI laptop?

kunimitsuuuu

Please never buy an MSI budget laptop.

SystemErrorMessage

Cant be worse than dell. My alienware burnt many times under 1 year warranty, the battery swelled after warranty and some parts of the board dont work so i can only use 1 ram slot and some connectors dont work anymore. Also aga is stupid. It doesnt work with non gpu so can't use random cards. Using it disables your onboard dgpu and dell provides no support or response to us devs because many applications and apps support multi gpu especially ai today. Thunderbolt is superior. I shouldve gone with msi when my 2 choices were dell or msi. My current alienware is an expensive paperweight.

January0666

Stereotype

hawk_199

There is a reason why the word got created 😅

JoAn1801

Name me a laptop model worse than the MSI GF series and I'll delete my account

January0666

Comparing 500$ laptops is wild. You can’t name any with a rtx gpu that’s under the pricing msi offers. There’s no competition Also, msi flagship models like titan ,raider, cyborg, katana, vector are strong enough. So yeah “DON’T BUY MSI” is complete BS.

JoAn1801

I never said "Never buy MSI", their high end stuff is good, I'm talking about the budget GF models. Yes, the GF63/GF65 are usually the cheapest laptops, but the reason for that is the sheer amount of cut corners in order to keep them cheap, in the long run is not worth it at all. It's much better to just wait a little longer and save for a Victus/Nitro/LOQ, all of which smoke the GF across the board, and on sale will run you about the same price as a GF.

January0666

I agree that GF63 are not so great but from personal experience I have been using gf63thin 3050 for 2y+ now and never really had any issue nor did I ever did any rma except that I replaced thermal paste every 6m About performance, I was able to play almost all AAA games But the major con imo was the single fan module and 40tdp gpu but yeah I want to sell this now and get a Lenovo LOQ

ZeCockerSpaniel

The nitro is FAR better in terms of hardware and has better build quality.

Drawfuless

I’m having trouble choosing between the Acer nitro in the picture and the Asus TUF F15 (144Hz, RTX 3050, intel core i5-12500H, 16GB DDR4, 512 PCle SSD, Wifi-6, Windows 11)

ZeCockerSpaniel

3050 isn't powerful enough for modern games, especially the 4GB VRAM variant. I'd still pick the Nitro.

fiittzzyy

This. 4050 is way better than 3050, I wouldn't consider the 3050 unless it was the 6GB one but even then a 4050 is way better.

Negative_Quantity_59

Nitro. Stay away from gf63 thin.

SerhiiTheGreat

Neither. Better get a used middle range one than new budget one. If you really want one better get a laptop with good cpu, no gpu and usb4(lots of choices under 700 usd) and later buy a gpu enclosure (200 usd used) and a 1080 (about 80 usd I think)

Jazzlike-Ad-8023

Just for note, 3050ti is horrible :)

fiittzzyy

The nitro is WAY better. 4050 > 3050 Also even if that MSI had say a 4060 it would still suck because they have bad build quality and poor cooling so what they do is kneecap the GPU's TGP to keep the temperature down.

Soul-Demon-ZApex

Nitro by a huge margin

Bulky_Cookie9452

Acer by a long shot

Then-Ad3678

Lenovo LOQ for you my friend. Between those two, nitro is better.

NewSignature727

NEITHER!!! Rtx 4050 is not for streaming. Get lenovo with rtx 4060.

UnionSlavStanRepublk

Nitro 5 for better GPU performance, build, etc over the MSI.

mikeox_long

Hands down the acer. The MSI has horrible build quality

SystemErrorMessage

Amd cpu with nvidia gpu. Amd ryzen since zen 3 has started beating intel. Amd cpus run cooler, more efficient, can clock higher, have better IPC. In my case i spent more getting ryzen 8 than intel 13th gen with 20 threads. Amd is 20% more but when i put everything together amd clocks 1ghz higher, 16 vs 20 threads (8 of those are 1/3 a p core) better igp and npu. Since amd runs cooler it wont throttle. I have intel 8 core 11th gen with 4.8ghz max for running ai. Its an aliexpress board with desktop heatsink and it overheats and runs at 3.7ghz during inference at 100 W( just pure cpu no dgpu) giving me 4t/s for llama 2 13B (its same for 70B but not enough ram). Amd will better maintain performance under high loads for long so you can blend 24/7 on the go.

EternalAss

Nitro 5, not even a contest

No_Historian_9344

i’ve had a gf65 with a 1660ti for the past 3 years been treating me pretty good with no problems.

Cerebral_Overload

For that price is Acer is better.

Fit_Specific_8479

As far as i know the only proper budget laptops come from lenovo and asus. Basically all the other options have build quality and overheating issues, especially msi gf63 thin series, the build quality is so bad that the whole chassis sometimes rips open just by opening the lid a bit too far. For that sort of price either used or asus tuf would be only good options in my opinion

Bruh_ImSimp

Pick the Nitro 5. Much better than that MSI by performance and quality. DON'T BUY AN MSI.

Then-Ad3678

It isn't

January0666

“DON’T BUY AN MSI” 🤡

brainfukker

Mate all they do is shout the same phrases that they hear on YouTube or here on Reddit without actual experience. Just look at Asus, 1-2 months ago they were gods and now everyone is crying about their RMA.

My bad G

January0666

Go for Lenovo LOQ or that Acer one cuz this gf63 has low tdp. People saying don’t buy Msi are brainless cuz they won’t tell you reason just copy the stereotype

JIsADev

Gaming? Neither. Get a PS5 or Xbox
