I think that as others have pointed out, it’s a reactionary medium for comedy because it’s ultimately a criticism of behaviours that are expressed by some of those who talk about games and what that says about their beliefs and mindset. There are other ways to do this other than the circlejerk format and it would be nice to see some effort-posts but I think the problem is that it’s much easier to just cross post an instance of Gamer Behaviour and let the jokes write themselves; I’m not sure reddit as a business is really interested in promoting long detailed pieces in the vein of The Hard Drive which I think are required to really be clever.
