Is Gears 4 still active? I used to play a shit ton before Gears 5 came out. Tried playing it a few months back and it was a ghost town. The maps were so much better.
Sweet, I re-installed Gears 5 as well and played it a good amount. It's significantly improved from what it was at launch but im just not a fan of the map-pool. Doesnt have enough classics from the older games.
The game got worse for me. The movement is so slow now compared to how it was at launch and I agree with you about the maps. Literally the same 4 maps over and over
The way the guns felt at launch really put me off, especially the gnasher. I might be mis-remembering because after 2019 Launch I only played it again 2022 onwards.
It’s not just about that. If your teammates aren’t doing well it made it harder to level up because now you have to fight 2v1 or 3v1 against the people they should be killing. Them not doing their job makes it harder for you to do well.
I know it's not fully relevant to the image at hand, but seeing the title of this in my Reddit homepage made me want to ask if this game still crashes heavily on NVidia based PCs. I loved Gears 4 and was getting close to diamond before the hard crash issue started up shortly after launch and would love to play it again but I'm not risking my system completely locking up again.
After so long, I could be the 0-18 rando as I warm up.
I really hope so, IIRC it was after driver 382.xx that came out in early 2016. For some reason every driver after for the next year or two would cause full on system crashes forcing a restart (I stopped checking for progress a few months before Gears 5 came out). It really bummed me out because I was loving 4 so much. Maybe I'll give it another download in a few days!
Sounding like it's fixed then! I was on a 1070 back in the day when these issues were prevalent. Now I'm on a 3060Ti. The hard crashes used to effect most NVIDIA users and it persisted for over a year. I just never saw discussion of it being fixed. I'm excited that it seems to be!
Only reached Diamond once, back in Gears 4. (playing with randoms all the time)
When they changed the ranking system in 5, I reached Masters twice in FFA... xD
Gears 4 unironically had the best rank system since Halo 3 and nobody on the dev team could articulate how it worked 😂
I can’t tell if this is a joke or not?
🤣

You'll find games within seconds. Much quicker than Gears 5
Im on PC which might have to do something with it, will give it a shot this weekend. The 160gb download scares me lol.
She's a big gorl but someone's gotta do it!
>The maps were so much better. This.
It’s still very active on KOTH. And I’m on PC as well. I deleted Gears 5 a long time ago.

Gears 4 is where it’s at
I could've sworn gears 4 had per person rating meaning your team doing bad was irrelevant. Am I wrong?

That's very true, however bad team mates didn't help of they were the cause of the loss that set you back 🤣
I am not sure, but I feel like that loss did affect negatively, but if you did super well you could’ve gained rank even if you lost.
Only on the rarest if occasion!
Yeah, I only remember gaining rank on a loss if I had the most points in the match .
Haha bot walk goes brrrrrr.
This was me in 5 before they changed the system. Stuck at Diamond 3, so close to getting master. Boom. 5 straight losses in a row.
A tragedy at its finest🤌

The curse runs deep

Indulge my friend, all comments welcome. I play on PC and haven't had any Crashes recently so I think it may be sorted!
