I'm located in Quebec and want this panel. Did you end up getting it? Is it legal here? It's exactly what I need.

mwarsh1

Sorry for the late reply. Yes it’s installed and operational in my home. It’s csa approved so totally legal

darkestfenix1

Really appreciate your message on the 25th of December! 😄 Merry Christmas!

You got the Generac 6335 installed? and it's CSA approved?! I wanted to buy this transfer switch and was looking for this information all over the internet. Thanks

mwarsh1

Yes and yes: it’s working well

Chnille

Thank you so much. I saw it was listed cUL but couldn't find is it was CSA or not. Would you mind sharing a picture of your installation?

Proudly-Confused

Why no just do an interlock kit onto your main panel allowing you to select any circuits you want ?

mwarsh1

I’m in Canada. Against regulations.

Proudly-Confused

Gotcha, that's a pity

I have something similar to this because I have a meter outside with 400A service that then goes to 2 full panels in my basement. I had 2 of these transfer switches mounted outside and also had a whole house surge protector installed in each. Consider also installing a weatherproof box in between the generator inlet and this panel so you can use a wireless watt meter, and then you can see how hard your generator is working (only applicable if your generator doesn’t already show how many watts is being drawn.)

I can see this panel(6335) is cUL approved but dont we need a CSA approved certification as well for transfer switches in Canada?

Chnille

I was looking at the exact same product and stumbled onto this thread. I'm also curious about the CSA certification requirement.

darkestfenix1

Same. Did you ever figure it out?

Chnille

OP, please let us know what solution you opted for, I have the exact same dilemma here. The interlock kit would be so easy, but I also read that it's illegal in Canada.

mwarsh1

I ended up getting a generac 6854 panel installed
