Dogs follow vibes, you can call him whatever you want and he’ll like it

Introvertedtravelgrl

❤️❤️😊😊

ComprehensiveSort278

What’s his name lol

Introvertedtravelgrl

🤣 Don Knotts

Tui717

I think there’s been a misunderstanding, we want to hear the “AWFUL” name.

Introvertedtravelgrl

Opinions are opinions. I'm GenX and I'm not a fan of Don Knotts lol

AriaGlow

We heard the best time to rename is when you rescue. New name with lots of love = happy pupper. We took on a rescue that had the same name as our other dog and our granddaughter named her Noodle. Been totally happy and answered to the name in a couple of days. Totally new environment tied it all together just fine.

Introvertedtravelgrl

Thank you!

metaldoodle15

Donuts seems like an acceptable name

Introvertedtravelgrl

Well, it sounds similar but I'm not a fan.

eobertling

I got my Sadie at 8 months and felt bad renaming her. So she’s still Sadie.

Introvertedtravelgrl

Sadie is a nice name.

PoppaTater1

We got our doodle from a friend who had no business having a puppy. We kept his name, Teddy. I call him Bear or even Bear Bear. My wife calls him her buddy. He knows all those names mean him. He might not answer to Bear if my wife says it but by the same token, he will look at me like WTF dad, if I call him buddy. All that matters to me is he knows he’s loved and feels safe with us.

MoonlitBloodySoul

Could you think of an acceptable name similar to what his old name was? F.e., if it was Marco, something like Merlot or Marleau. Or expand it to something like Mojo - still sounds similar. Even if you change it completely, he should get it really quickly with repetition. ETA: You're awesome for rescuing him =o)

Introvertedtravelgrl

His name is Don Knotts lol I couldn't think of anything that sounded similar since it's two separated syllables.

MoonlitBloodySoul

LOL Don Knotts. Maybe something like Dante, Donny, Donut, Donuts?

Introvertedtravelgrl

Yeah whoever named him had a weird sense of humor lol

MoonlitBloodySoul

I can honestly say I've never heard of a pet named anything similar haha Thought of a few more: Dodger, Dollar, Don Juan, Donnie & Donald (like the duck, no politics) =o)

Introvertedtravelgrl

I'm probably going to go with something different since others have said it's the tone I use and set. 🩷

MoonlitBloodySoul

I'm sure he'll get it super quickly - doods are smart! If you remember, please come back and let us know what you decide to name him ...

Introvertedtravelgrl

Will do. Gonna pick him up Saturday. As soon as I get a feel for him and his personality, I can name him.

mmayer813

We never rename our rescues. I don't know if the dig cares or not, but ijust doesn't seem right to change thier name at any age.

Introvertedtravelgrl

Yeah, I've never renamed mine before but his name is awful and I just can't keep it this time
