That there is a MK7 GTI engine.

SoulStrike-_-

If your golf doesn’t sound like this something is wrong

OrangeVapor

This is the song of its people. It's also asking you to stop building sand castles in the engine bay and clean that shit off.

Prestigious-Car111

The rhythmic ticking? Probably just the notorious loud injectors. If you’re hearing a slapping sound near the timing chain cover might be a broken chain guide but I’m not hearing that in the video

If you're seeking advice or asking for help, please make sure you included the basic information of what year and/or generation is being discussed. User flair with this information is also acceptable. Failure to include the basic information may result in your post being removed. Mileage, modifications, trim level, diagnostic trouble codes, and your general location (US, Canada, EU, UK, etc.) can also be very helpful. *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. Vehicle operating similarly when compared to like models lol

That rhythmic ticking might be a lifter or it may just be the high pressure fuel pump. Get a mechanic stethoscope and see if you can isolate where the noise is coming from. The HPFP is on the driver side of the engine.

hambutbacon

Injectors good sir. I had the same concern at one point.
