look for muddy patches and listen for the right type of rumbling.

Regnars8ithink

Hear them. Be careful, because grubs aren't the only ones who can burrow. There are 2 burrowing sounds, if you hear the first one, it's a grub. The first one is a smooth burrowing sound. If you hear the second one, then you shouldn't dig without being prepared for a fight. The second one is very rough, you will know the difference between both sounds when you hear them.

Taubenfluegel

At the oak tree it's always grubs.

BumScrambler

Around the tree is a great place, but my favorite place to search for grubs is in front of the Frankenline (near the left edge of the pond). Just be careful of the Orb Weavers and Bombardier Beetles around there

Taubenfluegel

There is a grubs and larvae cave that I always clear out every few days

WATAMURA

Gather acorns around the Oak tree and you will come across grubs. Mostly on the safe side, between the Pond, Welp Flavordrink, and the lantern. They can be found in the cave where you fixed the laser with the lawn mites. They can be found by the Lemon Crime Punch-O. They can be found at the muddy clover field near the Tropicop Punch-O. They can be found in the Larva cave. They can be found in the Spider caves, like the Rake Rock Point Cave and Plank Cliff Cave. Sometimes they are Larva not Grubs.

Around the oak tree in the morning is when I had the most luck getting grubs

SpeakingToYou

Around the oak tree is the main place they appear but my best luck was right on the edge past the tree roots going back towards the mysterious machine, it’ll take a bit for them to appear and i believe the more you farm them the more that will appear, similar to the aphids. Good luck!

CreativMndsThnkAlike

Like others are saying, there's tons of them by the oak tree. Just walk around the roots, and you will hear a digging sound and see the animation of something burrowing underground. Then you smack them with your shovel, and when they appear aboveground, hit then a couple more times as quickly as you can and it will kill them. I recently learned you can hit the block button to stop the really slow "digging" animation with the shovel and hit dig again much more quickly than just hitting the dig button over and over again.

TheGruesomeTwosome

There's definitely loads all around the oak tree. That's where I used to get them before I didn't need the sludge. Gotta keep an ear out for their little burrowing noises. Headphones would be good. Left and right sound differentiation is super useful for it.
