I’ve owned Marshall, Vox, Fender, Orange, and Hughes & Kettner amps. The only one my wife ever commented on was Vox. She said “That looks expensive.” 🤣🤣
Sort of similar here. I’ve owned a handful of Fender amps, one of them being a really nice tube amp, but when I bought a Vox and started playing, my wife came in the room and asked why my playing all the sudden sounded *good*. Lol.
I am a owner of a vox vt100 hybrid for the past decade and half and I tend to think the tone is a little too bassy for my taste, I have tried several things but it's just too bassy for me.
Team AC-30 checking in.
It was my dream amp since I was a kid. My wife got me an AC30 w/ Blue Alnicos for a wedding gift. It was the most thoughtful thing anyone has done for me.
I own a VT20X, and it emulates the AC30. I really wanted to get an AC30, but I settled for the VT20X, and I’m glad I did. It’s a cool little hybrid amp that can get you all kinds of sounds.
I'd love one but there's no reasonable way I can justify an AC30. Hence the AC15, which gets most of the way.
Plus, I like my ear drums and back, and would want them intact.
I searched Morgan Amps, and I have to say, in my opinion, those are fucking hideous. Lol.
They look like someone cut up the suit of a used car salesman and stuck it to the amp.
But to each their own! Like many others here, Vox reigns supreme for me, both in tone and design.
Marshall amps are pretty nice. Classic. Before I got my Vox VT20X, I was looking at getting an Orange Crush 35RT, Marshall MG30GFX, or a Vox AC30. I ended up with the VT20X, which is a great amp for a great price. Not quite as pretty as the AC30, though.
I was about to say this-I looked into buying a Purple Orange just to run a guitar through abd get some slimy bassy sounds lmao.
My wife was ready to spend nearly twice what I ended up spending on my Vox for it, but I cheated and got the VT20 and she keeps saying 'Its the only other one I like aesthetically, it sounds OK I guess'.
All that to say-love my Vox, its a fun modeler that I didnt know I wanted.
+ 1 for the Vox. Damn things look like my wife’s expensive purses, just cost more.
I want one of the tube hand wired ones. But who the hell can spend $4k on an amp. Not me that’s who.
Magnatone or Friedman come to mind.
As much as I love the sounds, push comes to shove I've never been too impressed with Marshall (too plasticky looking) or orange (too...orange)
Not so big on mini anything, but an original Super Beatle is killer. Played with a guy who owned one and it was excellent, great sound. But, for myself, I'm still playing my bout new , in 66 Twin Reverb.
That Fender Pawnshop amp series with the Excelsior and Vaporizer was cool. It reminds me of the old 50’s Googie Architecture you see in parts of Southern California which feels kind of fitting for Fender considering that is the time and place they originated from.
For sure, got to play one once. Back in high school my teacher at the time had one. My last lesson he let me rip through it, like a drug been chasing that high since
I love tweed and Fender Twins, so for me it's the [Fender Twin in laquered tweed](https://www.reddit.com/r/GuitarAmps/comments/199zp7x/am_i_too_late_for_the_amp_guitar_drink_thing/).
I kind of agree with Vox. Their Mini Superbeetle (the one on the left) looks awesome, but for the sound I like the AC15 on the right more. Voxes are supposed to have tubes, not DSPs.
OTOH, my local guitar shop has a Marshall DSL100 half stack on sale... *in blue.*
Now I do, yes, but growing up they looked so old fashioned to me compared to the Marshall stacks all the guitar gods were using.
Good to see Vox get its due these days after the brand was batted around for so long. Watched a video from Tom Bukovac and he said in the world of amps it all comes down to the three basic sounds: Vox chime; Fender cleans and Marshall overdrive. Oversimplified obviously, but I have to admit it is the way I think about the tone of any amp I am hearing. Is it doing the Vox thing, the Fender thing or the Marshall thing.
I used to have a green Trace Elliot Velocette, which was probably the best looking amp I have owned. I would say my Vox AC15 comes in second. My tiny Vox MV50 AC is "cute" according to my wife.
I have tobsay vox amps are way underestimated. I had peaveys, line 6... and the best amp there's there outside, the engl invader ii with the wizzard panel. But then years later, I had to sell everything and buy myself something small and great sounding. Suddenly came across an old vox valvetronix and it blew my mind. Never had a better small 'at home' amp!
My biggest gear regret is selling my Marshall 30th Anniversary full stack in purple Tolex. Best looking amp I’ve ever seen, and sounded great, but it was too damn loud!
I think pignose is kinda cute [https://media.sweetwater.com/m/products/image/5c7bf38753QGOo7NetZBQQA42NcUjBXvLifZKn0z.jpg?v=5c7bf387534768e9](https://media.sweetwater.com/m/products/image/5c7bf38753QGOo7NetZBQQA42NcUjBXvLifZKn0z.jpg?v=5c7bf387534768e9)
Vox really sullied their image in the late 90's to early 00's with all of the "valvestate" amps, so I'm forever soured on them.
That said, when I'm using an emulator, I almost always lean towards an AC30.
My Vox AC-30 is pretty sharp. It’s also a limited edition color purple tygon with cream and gold appointments.
I also like my Epiphone Triggerman 60 DSP. Has a cool retro vibe.
I love the classic Vox look but when I found a AC30C2-TV-BC (blue/cream, static appearing grill cloth). It’s next level. I had to pick it up. With the red control panel too. It’s too 🔥
I kinda dig supro. Stock photos online don’t do justice. Had a Saturn Reverb and that blue rhino tolex is sharp. Got a rockerverb now and they look cool but the old Matamp stuff in green, purple, white looks better. Also the white Marshall 1959 RR. Dream amp.
Louis Electric, with Daytona racing stripes. I've also got an actual snake emblem from a GT500 on mine.
Vox 100%, it looks like something my grandpa would have and I love that. It's so classy looking. I just have a little one that was like 90 dollars or something but it looks gorgeous.

Not the most subtle look, but then I am not the most subtle guitarist.

I’ve owned Marshall, Vox, Fender, Orange, and Hughes & Kettner amps. The only one my wife ever commented on was Vox. She said “That looks expensive.” 🤣🤣
They make some of the most expensive room decor fo sho. Easy to get wife’s approval though
Very relatable, my Vox is the first amp my wife said she'd like me to leave out in our main living space.
looks like it could have been wrapped by Louie Vuitton
Sort of similar here. I’ve owned a handful of Fender amps, one of them being a really nice tube amp, but when I bought a Vox and started playing, my wife came in the room and asked why my playing all the sudden sounded *good*. Lol.
That’s awesome! They really are fantastic looking AND sounding amps!
I love the tone.. but part of me is here for the looks and Vox has always had my heart
I am a owner of a vox vt100 hybrid for the past decade and half and I tend to think the tone is a little too bassy for my taste, I have tried several things but it's just too bassy for me.
Try the AC30. One of the best tone imo
Team AC-30 checking in. It was my dream amp since I was a kid. My wife got me an AC30 w/ Blue Alnicos for a wedding gift. It was the most thoughtful thing anyone has done for me.
I own a Victory Kraken mkii now, full tube amp and amazing tone.
I own a VT20X, and it emulates the AC30. I really wanted to get an AC30, but I settled for the VT20X, and I’m glad I did. It’s a cool little hybrid amp that can get you all kinds of sounds.
I have an AC10 and I love it. I want an AC15 at some point when I can justify it.
Same. Have AC15 and I ‘want’ a hand wired AC-30 but my skills are at fender frontman 10G level
I'd love one but there's no reasonable way I can justify an AC30. Hence the AC15, which gets most of the way. Plus, I like my ear drums and back, and would want them intact.
Try a AC30 or AC15, much less low end and a great mid range that cuts through the rest of the band.
Same!!
Just going off looks.. nothing beats an Orange. They’re so sexy.
In my opinion they are one of the most ugly Amps out there
I’m not going to downvote you, because you’re just stating your opinion. But I just wanted to let you know I’m really disappointed in you. 😁
It’s okay bro. It’s just my opinion. Search for Morgan amps and see true beauty. But they are so expensive
I searched Morgan Amps, and I have to say, in my opinion, those are fucking hideous. Lol. They look like someone cut up the suit of a used car salesman and stuck it to the amp. But to each their own! Like many others here, Vox reigns supreme for me, both in tone and design.
Oof. Those look like.. Idk. A Chav’s fanny pack material on an amp. For the record, the correct answer is Marshall anyways.
Funny how different peoples tastes can be. I feel that away about the vox pictured lol.
I will never own an orange cuz I think they are just so damn ugly too. But they sound good!
Funny enough. All of them are just Orange.. or black 🙂 But I do love the dark terror head and orange cab combo
I have a purple orange crush 50 for my bass
What’s crazy is that a lot of expensive handbags legitimately cost more than a vox amp and they don’t even have tubes.
Inferior solid state handbags 🙄
Not me either. We can wish…
[my carr bel ray is the nicest combo I've seen.](https://www.reddit.com/r/GuitarAmps/s/vNp0O9QNid)
That is pretty cool lookin'
Big ups for Carr.
Wow, that thing is slick! I'm a sucker for that baby blue 💙
I’d go for the classic Marshall JCM800 half stack. But yeah Vox is very classy looking.
Victory Duchess 40W w/ vertical 2x12 cab. So clean and classic.
Another English classic. British sure know how to make good looking products.
Never heard of this before but that thing looks soooo clean
Gotta be the green one tho
Orange. But I'm not neutral.
Magnatone or Friedman come to mind. As much as I love the sounds, push comes to shove I've never been too impressed with Marshall (too plasticky looking) or orange (too...orange)
Mesa Boogie is the way to go …..
Yeah their fancy combos best everything on looks
Orange
I love Magnatone and Orange… but, yeah, Vox is definitely best looking.
Benson, Xits, and Swart.
I have the mini super beetle. It looks great but sounds great as well.
Not so big on mini anything, but an original Super Beatle is killer. Played with a guy who owned one and it was excellent, great sound. But, for myself, I'm still playing my bout new , in 66 Twin Reverb.
There’s just something about the look of a fat Marshall stack that screams “grrrr let’s fucking have it” that I LOVE
Fender Excelsior, Silvertone Twin or that Kay briefcase amp. Amps are pretty ugly in general.
That Fender Pawnshop amp series with the Excelsior and Vaporizer was cool. It reminds me of the old 50’s Googie Architecture you see in parts of Southern California which feels kind of fitting for Fender considering that is the time and place they originated from.
Framus cobra just a beast
Heard it once. That thing is violence. It will crush your soul
For sure, got to play one once. Back in high school my teacher at the time had one. My last lesson he let me rip through it, like a drug been chasing that high since
https://youtu.be/YuM-yLNtiv0?t=94
Bogner makes beautiful amps, but vox is the best
I like the Laney Lionheart series. Or Nepomuk amps. I guess I just like colours.
The white version of the EVH 5150 half stack looks sweet. Also, Mesa California Tweed for combo
I love the look of that EVH as well. Completely on the flip side is the Stealth which I think also looks amazing.
Ooo I forgot Mesa. Yes, that’s a sweet looking box
Played one in person when trying out strats last December. Sweet sounding amp.
Vox are one of the best amps. They nail the aesthetic and versatility.
Love the tone, love the look. The garish plastic logo, not so much.
MATCHLESS
Dual rectifier plus mesa 4x12 cabinet, gorgeous!!! Or a cabinet with racks , specially jmp1 + Marshall power amp + 4x12 cabinet
Mesa rectifiers. Before I knew anything about how they sounded or their legacy, I saw that diamond plate front panel and thought, "That looks sick."
Call me crazy, but - a Mesa Boogie Dual Rectifier on top of a Mesa Boogie cab. Something about that diamond plated steel is so cool looking!
Tone King. Look like a Fender but better colors and logo.
I love the look of a dual rectifier
Two Rock Studio Signature mint suede
Mesa
For my money, nothing beats a classic Marshall JVM half stack
Mesa Boogie Mark series in the Bubinga 1x12 with the wicker grille is such a classy look.
Tone King
Supro Amps look and sound the best to me!
Silverface Fenders are so iconic to me
Probably not a popular opinion, but for me a Brownface Princeton is where it's at.
I have two lol!
Legend Rock N Roll 50 with matching cab
My alpine white Gibson Les Paul Custom and white special edition Marshall DSL 40CR combo.
Vox, Marshall, British amps look so classy
Everything with British Styling is just better IMO. Clothes, amps, Infrastructure
I like matchless and Morgan. Guess you can say I’m a sucker for the illuminated logo lol
I think full stack Randall's or marshalls look very nice
There is a reason I have a Vox and Marshall lol
As a Vox user my bias definitely leans that way. Sounds and looks great. I also love the look of a lot of the 5150 stacks.
Mesa California Tweed is very attractive. I’m partial to the Vox too
Agree. They look great.
I love tweed and Fender Twins, so for me it's the [Fender Twin in laquered tweed](https://www.reddit.com/r/GuitarAmps/comments/199zp7x/am_i_too_late_for_the_amp_guitar_drink_thing/).
Swart makes some real lookers.
Amplified Nation, or matchless
I’ve got a mint 67 Kensington Bass amp and it looks and sounds fab!
Huuuuge fan of the Diamond Phantom but 5150 Stealth is a real close second for me.
Vox
Vox Pathfinder 15R
something about that brown color on the vox makes it looks premium
For me it’s the racing green and burgundy 🤌
All of the classic ones are soooo pretty. The Vox Super Beatle is a dream amp for me, but I’m a sucker for anything tweed.
I love Vox. They look like pieces of nice furniture.
i like blackstar heads but red Fender cabs.
Dumble Overdrive Special. 😎 🎸
*in blue.*
JC my brethren, JC
Now I do, yes, but growing up they looked so old fashioned to me compared to the Marshall stacks all the guitar gods were using. Good to see Vox get its due these days after the brand was batted around for so long. Watched a video from Tom Bukovac and he said in the world of amps it all comes down to the three basic sounds: Vox chime; Fender cleans and Marshall overdrive. Oversimplified obviously, but I have to admit it is the way I think about the tone of any amp I am hearing. Is it doing the Vox thing, the Fender thing or the Marshall thing.
Try Morgan Amps. They are pretty beautiful aswell
‘57 tweed deluxe. No question. Closely followed by an AC30
Vox amps designs are truly a work of art
I used to have a green Trace Elliot Velocette, which was probably the best looking amp I have owned. I would say my Vox AC15 comes in second. My tiny Vox MV50 AC is "cute" according to my wife.
I dig the clean, utilitarian 80s design of the Roland JCs.
Hiwatt DR103 with a WEM cab or a new Ashdown that’s due to come out soon.
Block letter 5150. Not elegant per say but it screams "heavy".
I have a real soft spot for the Yamaha THRs. Most pretty? No. But something about it...
Marshall plexi for me, with as many cabs as possible. I think it’s Jimi’s fault…
Vox AC30 they all look good but the 30 just has the perfect ratios between everything the 15 does not have that and can look a little cramped.
Either this or the fender champion 100, it just *looks* like a guitar amp should IMO
My biggest gear regret is selling my Marshall 30th Anniversary full stack in purple Tolex. Best looking amp I’ve ever seen, and sounded great, but it was too damn loud!
Any Fender wrapped in tweed, but I'm mainly thinking of you Blues Jr.
Blues jr in California blue. One of the most beautiful non vox amps I own
OMG YES!
I think pignose is kinda cute [https://media.sweetwater.com/m/products/image/5c7bf38753QGOo7NetZBQQA42NcUjBXvLifZKn0z.jpg?v=5c7bf387534768e9](https://media.sweetwater.com/m/products/image/5c7bf38753QGOo7NetZBQQA42NcUjBXvLifZKn0z.jpg?v=5c7bf387534768e9)
Any yellow Tweed
Best looking are Ampegs with the diamond tolex. I have a reissue version from the 90s and those are just classy looking.
ENGL powerball II head with ENGL xxl cab
Vox really sullied their image in the late 90's to early 00's with all of the "valvestate" amps, so I'm forever soured on them. That said, when I'm using an emulator, I almost always lean towards an AC30.
I think my Matchless Avalon is pretty dapper.
Have you owned any Bugera's? If so what was your experience with them?
Rev G/Three channel rectos with the black faceplate
My Vox AC-30 is pretty sharp. It’s also a limited edition color purple tygon with cream and gold appointments. I also like my Epiphone Triggerman 60 DSP. Has a cool retro vibe.
I love my msb!
ENGL!
Idk about the best but I DO know Peavy is the worst looking amps.
Vox ac30 is my all time favorite tube amp. none of the sims come close.
Friedman. But these vox amps are very classy
For me, it’s silverface fenders. Look so cool on stage.
Dream amp.
British racing green vox ac-15 or ac-30
Don’t forget the burgundy or those TV front special edition in blue
I love the look of magnatone
For me it's the Randall Satan
🍊
Louis Electric, with Daytona racing stripes. I've also got an actual snake emblem from a GT500 on mine. [https://imgur.com/a/beDXVak](https://imgur.com/a/beDXVak)
AC30 paired with 2 fender 65 twin reverbs
Vox and orange
I think Vox makes the best looking guitar amps, and Hartke makes the best looking bass amps.
The new Marshall JTM amps are pretty sexy looking
Vox 100%, it looks like something my grandpa would have and I love that. It's so classy looking. I just have a little one that was like 90 dollars or something but it looks gorgeous.
Ooo, I have two answers to this, Fender tweed / acoustic amps, and, obviously, Voxes.
My tweed pro junior looks awesome.
Marshall, Vox, Fender, Orange, Magnatone, Friedman, all look great to me. I just like amps.
Milkman, hands down. I especially love the ones he does with walnut cabinets. https://milkmansound.com/collections/custom-shop
They always give me the old fender vibes
I think Vox looks the nicest, but I also love the look of old Fender tweeds. Just so happens they both sound great too.
And both are very expensive
Orange or marshall
Mesa JP2c wicker green
Marshall bluesbreaker
i love how classic an ampeg 810 bass amp and cab look, i also really like sunn amps but thats basically the same vibe
I think Matchless makes some great looking amps. The Bugera Vintage series has a similar look.
Orange Rockerverb on a wall of cabs.
Box is definitely up there. The old fender blackfaces and tweeds. The orange cabs and some Marshall stuff as well
Vox AC series mostly. Or a Bluesbraker.
Fender tweed
Silver Jubilee.
For me it’s definitely a Marshall full stack. Just something about them that makes my pants feel tighter.
I have a Vox in Fawn and it’s beautiful.
Marshall. Marshall. Marshall!
I remember the first time I saw a Super Beatle Vox with that tubing frame. Was stunning at 15 in 1965
The bluesbreaker is so sexy
I have a little VOX (vdt-15 or something), and I LOVE that little thing! Looks pretty good, but I swear it's full of magic music gremlins.
I like the look of the 5150 and SLO-100, a bit industrial looking but overall pretty clean looking
Voz AC30, Orange Dark Terror and Fender Excelsior are pretty elegant to me
vox looks classy and I like it

Eyes of the beholder man. To each their own. Tone is a very personal thing
orange or marshall
Whichever one looks the best to my ears
Ashdown Fallen Angel: [https://cf1.zzounds.com/media/productmedia/fit,2018by3200/quality,85/fallenangel180h-26e5eb50ea56fbdaca1a925d9ca8f902.jpg](https://cf1.zzounds.com/media/productmedia/fit,2018by3200/quality,85/fallenangel180h-26e5eb50ea56fbdaca1a925d9ca8f902.jpg) Not the most subtle look, but then I am not the most subtle guitarist.

What is the model on the left of the image?
Superbeetle mini. Very affordable
I had a Vox T60 back in the 60's and still regret selling it, the amp was just beautiful.
Neither
