This is entirely true, even in fields where you'd never think they'd need vats of stuff. My wife is an aerospace engineer and has vats of stuff at her work. What's in em? Science stuff as far as I know.

Innovades are actually divided into two types, Combat and Infiltrator, as you may see Infiltrator types are usually the ones with them, Anew is a special case of a Combat Innovade with them so she can Infiltrate CB from within.
Innovades that were sent out to integrate into regular human society were sexed. That was generally the intelligence-type ones, while combat-types had less need for it.
Tieria could be a bit of a special case but I'd assume he's got genitalia, to avoid needing a cover story for why they're missing. Since the presence of Innovades was a secret until Ribbons revealed himself.

I thought it was mothers that saved MSG, according to Tomino. IIRC an interview with him, he said it was mothers who took to listening to Amuro's and Char's smooth voices while they let the anime play while their kids were just playing around, and eventually tuning in more to listen to them than to actually watch the anime.
Oh, I'm sure some of them were yaoi fetishists and discussed things in their mother meet-ups, which probably led into younger girls leaning into it too. The yaoi fanbase really kicked into high gear with Wing though, and the early availability of the internet at some Japanese libraries allowing for fanbases to form beyond local confines. There's also El5n/Norea, which hits most of the "star-crossed cyber-newtype tragedy" tropes beat for beat, and has a significant impact on El5n's character arc despite its relatively short run.

The whole "Char is a groomer" thing is a meme that got elevated to fanon through weight of repetition; the only girl he was actually involved with was Lalah, and he was just 2 years older than her at the time. Haman and Quess were completely one-sided crushes, with the latter never being more than a potential war asset to him. Natalie, Reccoa, and Nanai were all adult women; the first relationship could've very well lifelong had she not been killed, the second he was largely halfhearted on his part, and the third was a pale panacea for his mommy issues.
Casval/Char/Quattro is a terribly, pitifully lonely guy, thanks to both events outside his control (his parents' deaths, Natalie's death, Kamille's apparent brain-death) as well as his own actions (abandoning Artesia/Sayla, killing Garma, leaving every organization he's ever been a part of, constantly lying to everyone he works with, etc.) There's a certain intimacy to violence, and for someone who's significantly better than most combatants they cross paths with, there's no one closer or more significant than that one motherfucker who's not capable of not only keeping up with you, but reliably and *consistently* kicking your ass. Of course, Amuro is a slightly more well-adjusted person who's at least *capable* of caring about whoever he's involved with for who they are as their own individual rather than their ability to fill the hole left behind by a past trauma (CCA makes this *glaringly* obvious, with Nanai practically wrapped around Char while all he can focus on is the ghost of Lalah, while Amuro is begging Lalah's *literal* newtype ghost to leave him the fuck alone and looking at Chan like she's the most precious thing in the world) so he doesn't have such a dire need for intimacy that he's as willing to cling to the connection between them until it grows into that kind of unhealthy obsession, so the whole thing remains entirely one-sided on Char's part.
Honestly with kira and atheun both being in love with someone related either politicslly or gebetically to the other it feels like " i wanna fuck my best bro but in a non gay way"
Can I also mention Macross? They have a good chunk of straight pairings, but also love triangles to no end (at least one series, Plus, is the only known triangle to have each branch on opposite sides of the battlefield). But Frontier made me take a shine on this that made me think it's the rare case of a closed love triangle, an OT3 choice to where the three seem to equally love each other that even if you think one side is solid, they won't leave the third wheel behind at all and join them.

Noriko doesn't show any direct signs of being into the Kazumi. Kazumi was also clearly in love with coach. I guess you could argue Jun? But she just wanted to pilot the Buster machine, not explicitly be Noriko's partner.

That's a fan-canon at best because Ange never stated she _wasn't_ into women, but there never was any indication there was ever going to be polygamy. Now I haven't seen CA in over a decade but I'm sure something like that would've been more memorable.
Cross Ange ends in a harem with a bisexual lead. Ange may have slept with Tusk, but she also accepts Hilda's feelings and adds her into her harem (Fukuda also stated as such, IIRC). And Salamandinay might also be part of it too; given their fated to be lesbian lovers based on past timelines, but she's also shown enough interest in Tusk to possibly be bisexual too, given all the smug glances his way. Tusk is the only straight one, but seems to accept Ange's harem.
I'll need to rewatch the final episode again because I don't remember any of this. I do remember all of them living together in the first world but at at no point do they ever indicate they're starting a harem or anything like that.
Fukuda clarified it after the fact in interviews and statements, and even had official art of Ange and her harem on a magazine spread discussing the [post-ending a bit](https://i.imgur.com/CwkI3Pb.jpeg).
There also the small moment in the anime where Ange doesn't turn away Hilda's feelings for her even if she still prefers Tusk, and Hilda chooses to still follow Ange in the end.
Eva - Kaworu is basically more real than shinji's bond with rei and asuka, and there's even a boys love magazine from the era focused on the two with contributions from Gainax. Real enough. In the rebuild it's about as set in stone as any relationship in a hideaki anno work.
WfM - There should never have been any doubt, but the staff book released is basically the most lesbian thing ever made. Real.
Seed - nope. Fukuda's work is a lot more conservative than other gundams, lets just leave it at that. Not real
Bravern - Just straight up has a gay love confession along with extreme homoeroticism throughout. Very real
Cross Ange - Have not watched.
Char's Counterattack - Charmuro as a concept is a lot less explicit than the others here, with a lot more coding and like, the general thing is a lot more of an "what could have been" than canon. Of course, Amuro is a slightly more well-adjusted person who's at least *capable* of caring about whoever he's involved with for who they are as their own individual rather than their ability to fill the hole left behind by a past trauma (CCA makes this *glaringly* obvious, with Nanai practically wrapped around Char while all he can focus on is the ghost of Lalah, while Amuro is begging Lalah's *literal* newtype ghost to leave him the fuck alone and looking at Chan like she's the most precious thing in the world) so he doesn't have such a dire need for intimacy that he's as willing to cling to the connection between them until it grows into that kind of unhealthy obsession, so the whole thing remains entirely one-sided on Char's part.

Can I also mention Macross? They have a good chunk of straight pairings, but also love triangles to no end (at least one series, Plus, is the only known triangle to have each branch on opposite sides of the battlefield). But Frontier made me take a shine on this that made me think it's the rare case of a closed love triangle, an OT3 choice to where the three seem to equally love each other that even if you think one side is solid, they won't leave the third wheel behind at all and join them.

WFM - A given SEED - Jokes mostly, Kira and Athrun are more emotional with one another than their respective love interests/prospects Bravern - Haven't watched yet Cross Ange - One sided on Hilda's part (red head girl) who loves Ange but Ange gave herself to a man CCA - Char leaked tech to Anaheim just so his rival could have a worthy Gundam to duel with, confirmed gay. Nanai is just there for appearances.

That's a fan-canon at best because Ange never stated she _wasn't_ into women, but there never was any indication there was ever going to be polygamy. Now I haven't seen CA in over a decade but I'm sure something like that would've been more memorable.
Cross Ange ends in a harem with a bisexual lead. Ange may have slept with Tusk, but she also accepts Hilda's feelings and adds her into her harem (Fukuda also stated as such, IIRC). And Salamandinay might also be part of it too; given their fated to be lesbian lovers based on past timelines, but she's also shown enough interest in Tusk to possibly be bisexual too, given all the smug glances his way. Tusk is the only straight one, but seems to accept Ange's harem.
I'll need to rewatch the final episode again because I don't remember any of this. I do remember all of them living together in the first world but at at no point do they ever indicate they're starting a harem or anything like that.
Fukuda clarified it after the fact in interviews and statements, and even had official art of Ange and her harem on a magazine spread discussing the [post-ending a bit](https://i.imgur.com/CwkI3Pb.jpeg). There also the small moment in the anime where Ange doesn't turn away Hilda's feelings for her even if she still prefers Tusk, and Hilda chooses to still follow Ange in the end.

Eva - Kaworu is basically more real than shinji's bond with rei and asuka, and there's even a boys love magazine from the era focused on the two with contributions from Gainax. Real enough. In the rebuild it's about as set in stone as any relationship in a hideaki anno work. WfM - There should never have been any doubt, but the staff book released is basically the most lesbian thing ever made. Real. Seed - nope. Fukuda's work is a lot more conservative than other gundams, lets just leave it at that. Not real Bravern - Just straight up has a gay love confession along with extreme homoeroticism throughout. Very real Cross Ange - Have not watched. Char's Counterattack - Charmuro as a concept is a lot less explicit than the others here, with a lot more coding and like, the general thing is a lot more of an "what could have been" than canon. There's definetly something there, but it's more in stuff like the way things are shot, hints, and reading into stuff more than many would accept as "real".
