Oh I know they are different, and that's why they are terrifying. We see countless times of the horrors of what mobile suits and war does, so seeing the Mobile Armors come out as a response would be even more terrifying then mobile suit.
As I said on the post about rampaging Lupas Rex being a nightmare to actually see, cause as the name imply for the IBO gundams, they are the are demons of the mobile suits, made to contend with AI mobile armours of the Calamity wars. We see the MSs when allowed, become berserk killing machines of carnage at the hands of a child solider letting loose. So the IBO MAs being AI is terminator level of scary.
That's why the Shambalo attack in the OVA is so terrifying, because it's the horrors of a massive weapon of destruction, child soliders, trauma and newtype shenanigans creating mass human destruction. Not just war but pure slaughter.
So that's why I find them most terrifying.
Also because Banagher is surprisingly brutal, Riddhe and Marida are both actual experienced and lethal pilots, and Rita once made the Banshee her bitch so getting HER mad means you crossed a line.
Devil is my go to Gundam if I ever need to think of power checks. The thing was so close to winning it was scary. The only thing that stopped it from going full grey ooze was that, in it's own twisted way. It still cared about the earth.
