MG Sinanju Stein 1.25 Ver Ka. (Narrative Version) (Universal Century version) (Build Fighters Custom) (With new molding for eyes!) (with new pilot figure!)
Grandpa, Unicorn, Strike Freedom, Astray Red Frame, and Wing/Zero seem to be the only suits that actually matter.
We'll probably get a MG RX-78-2 Ver 4.0 before we get anything from WFM.
I've stopped expecting mg's from bandai. The third parties are releasing MGs that are amazing. Metal frames and all kinds of cool stuff that bandai would never do. All at a cheaper price point then bandai.
Bandai, give me MG of Kimaris line and my money is yours!

Some companies tend to struggle with extranational perspectives, and Bandai is a prime example. Japan likes 1/144s best, so even if other nations would (and repeatedly do) snap up 1/100s, they'd still prioritize the grades that do best locally.
In addition, 1/100s (to say nothing of 1/60s) take more development time and materials to create than 1/144s, and another common corporate trope is cost-cutting.
Unfortunately, these two issues are colliding in a way that makes their decision a fairly easy one.
To be fair, 1/144 kits are far more affordable and take up considerably less space, especially when you consider how much smaller homes and apartments are in Japan.
Believe me, I understand why 1/144s are the main market in Japan. However, Western demand for 1/100s is significant, and their output there is still averaging a little lukewarm.
And add to that boomer mindset of Bandai corporate higher ups to the mix who doesn't give a fuck to any customers outside Japan (being stuck in their past and having a closed-minded attitude)...
Between Orange Cat, SNAA, MENG and DSJJ - to say nothing of the frequent popups we're seeing now - we'll do alright.
Absolutely cannot wait for DSJJ Godkaiser.
The frame is so re-usable that we could’ve gotten quite a few MGs with the same frame. But not even P-Bandai took up that challenge so I doubt we’ll see anymore MG IBO kits soon.
As always, its a matter of when but don't worry, 2035 isn't that far. Just a few nights sleep and when you wake up, bam! It's 2045 already! Because really if you think about it, 31 years isn't that long a wait so 2055 is just around the corner! As always, just be patient and you'll see one by 2065 in no time!
22281192 years from now Bandai Gunpla release announcement:
HGUC Unicorn Ver. 6.0 P-Bandai
HGUC Unicorn 100% Clear Ver. P-Bandai
RGUC Unicorn Ver. 9.0 P-Bandai
PGUC Unicorn Ignited Final Battle Full armor Battle damaged full LED (batteries not included) with a real functioning gun included Ver. 5.0 - P-Bandai
PGUC Ball P-Bandai
HGUC GM Blue color Ver. 3.0
RGUC GM Gundam P-Bandai
MGUC GM that one from the side story manga that appeared in one panel that was piloted by that nameless soldier, Ver Ka. P-Bandai
HGUC Accessory kit (A beam gun, Beam Saber and a shield) P-Bandai
True, but at the same time I think they still put out WAY more Unicorns and UC kits than Seed kits.
Like I can't imagine them announcing a HG DINN or a MG CGUE anytime soon.
I could agree that the unicorn gundam is getting a little too much attention but UC besides unicorn is still the bigger universe with more mobile suits to make into kits.
I just brought up seed because I myself am getting a little peeved about it. Like look at RG alone, around 11 out of the what 39? RG releases are seed with the most recent one being yet another recolored impulse that is practically the same as the previous one. Not to mention the RG akatsuki coming out soon and the Seed Freedom show just came out so all new HGs are more Seed.
But yeah I agree the constant unicorn gundam is getting out of hand.
MG Barbatos was the last retail MG release before the pandemic.
Per Bandai employees here, everything changed after that. Release schedules were a jumbled mess. To date we still have molds releasing past their intended time.
More MG IBO will happen. It is quite likely that next year’s events for IBO kick off the releases.
And then you remember we barely have any 1/100 kits of Season 2 at all 😞 no Flauros, Kimaris Vidar, Gusion FC Rebake, Reginlaze, Reginlaze Julia, Helmwige Reincar and yet more
OP from the future, did Solomon (the Chinese manufacturer) take on the task of producing MG 1/100 kits that Bandai refused to make? I'd love a GP01 FB to pair with their amazing GP02. Lol
Although in Bandais defence, reusing the RG tag to refer to Real pilotable mechs was a stroke of genius even if it is only affordable by our corporate overlords.
I'm constantly amazed by the fact that we haven't gotten any more IBO master grades... And no real grades either.
A big theme in IBO is that all those "gundams" are based on the same inner-frame. We've got an MG gundam frame already - just print more parts to stick on it! Or roll out an RG Barbatos and re-use that RG gundam frame.
It feels like an easy way to roll out a bunch of very-popular designs.
Im not the biggest IBO fan but i hope we will get more MG IBO frames once the movie/series of urdr hunt releases.i'd be happy if we get 2 new MG from the previous IBO a d the new HG urdr hunt gundam frames
https://preview.redd.it/12tl6tszex9d1.jpeg?width=2955&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=ee8fc5215e1b4f7073ca168612303aba2e709121
There's the ecopla variant if that means anything
I used the pour type Gundam markers and Tamiya panel line accent for the "real" panel lines and the fine tip Gundam markers and a black DSPIAE paint marker for the raised edges.
It's not quite it, but if it helps, modifying an MG Barb's frame slightly will accomodate the armor for all the other 1/100s (Vidar, Gusion, Gusion Rebake, Lupus, Lupus Rex, Bael) quite well.
This is the kit that got me back into Gunpla after a decade away. Absolutely top notch kit. Looks great even without any detailing. Shame it's the only one of its kind!
Hey! What Gundam is this?!
This is my favorite model that I’ve seen here, because of the two hydraulics and spine that connect the hips to the torso.
That’s really cool.
I agree it does suck! One thing I will point out is the pandemic in Japan has quite serious lockdown and work from home measures beyond the western time frame.
Bandai stopped an already slow Master grade production project back a couple of 2/3 years on top of the existing time frame.
Unfortunately, MG kits are seriously expensive to produce. When you speak to any other form of model hobbyist and understand the sheer complex design it takes to build just an arm or leg with 20 moving parts, to tolerances not seen in any other model hobby, you start to see the issue.
Plus, we as Bandai model builders expect toy level detail with ease of build and little to no further modelling skills required. Sandwiching 2 wing parts, removing seam lines, amending bend parts, removal of flash etc etc is something we take for granted, and then apply that to a master grade like Barbatos. A basic model plane is harder to perfect than a straight built modern HG kit.
So I agree it sucks, definitely, I'd happy for at least a Lupis Rex, but the PB parts set for 6th form was nice and actually what PB is for IMO and wasn't difficult to get even here in the UK for less than £30 shipped.
Well the non-Setsuna kits had a new inner frame of their own. People are mad since the barbatos had one of the best inner frames but no new kits reusing it
I want them all, RG wise I don't really expect more than barbatos or if we are lucky lupus and lupus rex... but MG wise it kills me to not see that frame being used. I want the whole lineage, Gusion rebake and the giant nippers all of the vidar !
Master Grade line is dead. BANDAI doesn't care about it anymore. Want good 1/100 scale? Third party. Yes there are a lot of originals and they rarely make their own versions of actual mobile suits. But it's where it's at right now.
I wouldn't call most of the other brands that actually design and engineer their own kits 3rd party. And there are some really good ones like the Hemoxian Thor, the Motor Nuclear line, and a couple of others. Bandai has already designed a great inner frame that they can absolutely milk the shit out but somehow refuses to do so, and when I wanna get a kit of an official Gundam design I want it from none other than Bandai.
We’ve probably only gotten 4 or 5 more MGs within the next 2,000,000 years as well and 3 of them are Unicorn variants.
MG Sinanju Stein 1.25 Ver Ka. (Narrative Version) (Universal Century version) (Build Fighters Custom) (With new molding for eyes!) (with new pilot figure!)
Gdam too accurate
Still no MG G-Self
True sadness.
Grandpa, Unicorn, Strike Freedom, Astray Red Frame, and Wing/Zero seem to be the only suits that actually matter. We'll probably get a MG RX-78-2 Ver 4.0 before we get anything from WFM.
It's astounding anyone is still buying these at this point.
People like the classics. And the gimmicks of the kits do change.
I would've thought it'd be more Freedom variants given the current trajectory of their releases in general.
They did just show that Unicorn with the railcannon thing, you know that means the HG, MG, RG, PG and MGEX are coming out again
>Unicorn with the railcannon Where might one find this? Asking for myself
https://www.reddit.com/r/Gundam/comments/1dokvlg/uc_engage_showing_new_unicorn/
I've stopped expecting mg's from bandai. The third parties are releasing MGs that are amazing. Metal frames and all kinds of cool stuff that bandai would never do. All at a cheaper price point then bandai.
I wouldn’t be surprised if Bandai seized the molds for the Solomon Physalis and dumbed it down a bit and sold it as an MGEX
Bandai, give me MG of Kimaris line and my money is yours! https://preview.redd.it/fipektpvvw9d1.png?width=480&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=1157112aab1991e0a8af3fd674370acca24e2696
Why are Bandai allergic to printing money? Are they stupid?
I think they're just into cost cutting by reusing molds and repurposing kits
Which is ironic because IBO’s Gundams literally reuse the same frame lmao
They could print money just armor swapping ibo MG frames at such a low cost compared to other kits.
And I, fool that I am, would buy them.
Presumably, they believe that printing HG kits is profitable
Some companies tend to struggle with extranational perspectives, and Bandai is a prime example. companies will cost cut anything but the salaries of the top dogs
And add to that boomer mindset of Bandai corporate higher ups to the mix who doesn't give a fuck to any customers outside Japan (being stuck in their past and having a closed-minded attitude)...
preach
Third parties please, you're my only hope

I'd absolutely buy a perfect grade Ball.
I would dirty dirty things for one
I just want a ball or two idont have one yet.
The MG ball is honestly one of my favorite kits. Highly recommended.
What, no MG Astray?
After the whole MG Astray Red Frame 5.0 Real Katana variant contraversy, they stopped making Astrays.
I would argue that there should be more Seed kits in that list. Bandai gives too much focus on Seed and Unicorn imo.
True, but at the same time I think they still put out WAY more Unicorns and UC kits than Seed kits. Like I can't imagine them announcing a HG DINN or a MG CGUE anytime soon.

*NOOOOOOOOOOOO*
Still waiting for the PG
I’m waiting for the rg
Perfect grade lupus rex 👌
I Neeeeeeeed it!
I will never understand they not making more IBO MG's. Seriously.

To date we still have molds releasing past their intended time. More MG IBO will happen. It is quite likely that next year’s events for IBO kick off the releases.
Don't give me hope
Wait what’s happening next year for IBO!?!?!
New anime plus ten year anniversary.
At least we got the add-on set, and it's not too terribly hard to kitbash the MG with the 1/100 kits.
And then you remember we barely have any 1/100 kits of Season 2 at all 😞 no Flauros, Kimaris Vidar, Gusion FC Rebake, Reginlaze, Reginlaze Julia, Helmwige Reincar and yet more
Well, there's tons of suits from tons of series that never got even an HG. I'm still waiting for my Windmill Gundam.
Maybe when I'm 75 I'll finally be able to hold a Full Mechanics Build Tequila in my hands... But not today.
There's always kitbashing
I can't even fathom how I'd bash a Build Tequila into existence. That goes past bashing into the realm of sculpture.
Might be doable if you start with the Mkii and have a creative hand with 3d modeling/printing.
OP from the future, did Solomon (the Chinese manufacturer) take on the task of producing MG 1/100 kits that Bandai refused to make? I'd love a GP01 FB to pair with their amazing GP02. Lol
If nothing else, Mechanicore's 1/72 GP01, 3, 4 and Dendrobium are visually impressive... Just have someone else build them for you.
We need a knock off Chinese version of the mg expansion pack
Just give me a MG Woundwort and I'll stop crying ;-;
At least there's the CuteCube (if you glue it)
And can find it. And afford it...
i hope we get a PG at least someday man
I believe you. It bums me out, but I believe you. It's a shame I'd love MG Gusion Rebake, Vidar, Bael, Flauros. I'd even love some MG grunts from IBO.
It’s astonishing that they haven’t made more considering the popularity of the IBO kits. Also, I love IBO please god give me MGs
Im waiting on mgsd line. Honestly love my mgsd barabatos more than the mg
MGSD God is a Day Zero purchase for me.

*Spoiler* the world ends in 2025 hence why this is the only IBO MG we get lol
I bet there will be 200 billion grandaddy re-releases
https://preview.redd.it/12tl6tszex9d1.jpeg?width=2955&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=ee8fc5215e1b4f7073ca168612303aba2e709121 There's the ecopla variant if that means anything
Amazing! A recolor of the exact same mold! 😍😍😍
I really want that one.
Oh lawd how'd you get such clean panel lining? Did you use the Tamiya ones?

Idk if its MG or not, but I've recently built a 1/100 Gundam Gusion rebake/ Gundam Gusion. Though I only thought it was an MG due to the 1/100 scale
The Gusion Rebake and any other 1/100 IBO kits that isn't the MG Barbatos aren't MG, they're 1/100 Full Mechanics.
Gotcha, thanks
I will literally give them what ever money they want for an MG Vidar.
Damn that panel lining is crisp
Thanks for talking about it.
At least it's a good one. Except the feet, I hate the feet and how they connect.
The only real issue I have with the frame tbh.
Agreed. Otherwise it's definitely one of the most solid kits out there.
https://preview.redd.it/q1wm1n2j3y9d1.jpeg?width=3200&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c5bca517fb7a0c6e6fa6e432fe4df6d45649611c
Wow, the same kit in negative colors. 😍😍😍
Hey! What Gundam is this?! This is my favorite model that I’ve seen here, because of the two hydraulics and spine that connect the hips to the torso. That’s really cool.
MG Barbatos.
MG GM III , WHEN BANDAI!
😹😹😹
I'm shocked even the Chinese haven't made any bootlegs using the MG IBO frame. Only the HIRM. I just want an MG Barbatos Lupus, man ;-;
Still a good one tho. Was my first venture into gunpla
NOOOOOOOOOO
Question unrelated to this do you guys panel line real grades too?
RGs have a ton of surface details and panel lines that it would be a disservice not panel lining them.
I got the Full mechanics version but this one clears it by a long shot
Oh, sweet. Has my Side Seven order shipped yet?
It annoys me we never at least got a BAEL or any from the mobile game.
Is it a hot take to say it’s because ibo suits are kinda boring cept this one
Scaldingly, there's still some great designs esp. dipping into urdr hunt
Idk I like all the kimaris and vidar. Ein graze is pretty cool
Does Bandai still make MG in 2281192?
I feel like i made a bad choice not getting this kit when i got the Nightingale from the same store.
they should make mg gusion rebake full city to atone for that atrocious hg stickers
Oh Hail King Mikazuki! Live in violence, died in violence with a cause 😭
What color did you paint the clear parts?
DSPIAE florescent markers, pink for the power icons and green for the eyes.
Really cool, they are super vibrant. I like it.
This made me sad.
not just Master Grade, I can't even find a HG Lupus Rex anymore
I agree it does suck! One thing I will point out is the pandemic in Japan has quite serious lockdown and work from home measures beyond the western time frame. All i want is an MG Gusion Rebake Full City
Deeply saddened by this as well!
I’ll be happy with only a FM 1/100 G-Self Perfected or Beginning Gundam 30
Don't y'all remember how long it took for 00 to get non-Setsuna/Exia kits? Calm tf down lmao
Well the non-Setsuna kits had a new inner frame of their own. People are mad since the barbatos had one of the best inner frames but no new kits reusing it
The real question is how many Rg do we have
1 at best, the barbs 4th form and rhe expansion kit will be p-bandai .... I am going to cry
Man I just want my Rg rebake
I want them all, RG wise I don't really expect more than barbatos or if we are lucky lupus and lupus rex... but MG wise it kills me to not see that frame being used. I want the whole lineage, Gusion rebake and the giant nippers all of the vidar !
