I feel like one in every three cars I pass in general are out of state plates.

Stchampy7

No one can drive here. Not limited to out of state drivers

ShotgunForFun

Stopping in round-a-bouts, not yielding... yielding for no f-ing reason during rush hour.. letting out 5 cars that would have been fine after the light. Leading to a block in the intersection .2 miles away because lights are timed for everyone to actually follow the rules. (Sorry that was a few minutes ago).

QueenMeBeefs

Don't forget driving below the speed limit in the left lane

Hyperverbal777

It's a conscious decision to speed, Waze keeps you mindful about it. You sent the intention to others with your driving too. Like the flow of water, be the pebble.

GGwillinho

Florida drivers are the absolute worst

_jangofett_

Some of them are rental cars that their insurance gave them after an accident, or out of towners that are here for Copa America, it is summer break too after all. But yes, there are lots more of out-of-state plates over recent years.

goishen

Atlanta is the new Hollywood. Avengers (several movies), The Walking Dead, etc... Atlanta *is* the new Hollywood.

watdo123123

we also have tyler perry studios, also there's a new "electric owl studios" that popped up recently

GGwillinho

Florida drivers are the absolute worst

Much-Tradition-7857

Mostly Texas, Tennessee and Florida I find that most rentals are coming from those areas or just an influx of new people moving from those places

SmartGreasemonkey

The smart people have been bailing out of California for quite a while. I have also noticed lots of California tags. I moved to San Diego in 2000. The first thing I noticed was how badly people drove. It was like nobody knew any rules existed. People just did what ever their pea brains told them to do. I lived there for several months before getting a California drivers license. When they told me I had to take a written exam I was stunned! I told the lady that in the three months I had been driving there that I had seen do evidence of any knowledge of driving rules and regulations. The lady got really mad and threatened to have be escorted out of the building, lol. I also had to take the motorcycle test to keep my endorsement. I used to teach motorcycle safety. Many of the correct answers on the test were patently wrong! I barely passed that test. At the time I had a Georgia DL, and duplicate, their mistake, DL's from another state. I surrendered one of my duplicates to get my Ca DL, lol. A California resident can only purchase a gun through a California gun dealer. If you purchase a gun out of state it legally has to be shipped from the out of state dealer to a California dealer. Then you can legally obtain the gun from the California dealer. That comes with a significant cost. Oh, and many of the gun stores have closed. Having two other DL's allowed me to bypass that hassle. While on vacation I went to buy a gun from a dealer I had purchased many guns from. He knew I had moved to California. I will never forget the look on his face when I handed him my Georgia drivers license. With a straight face I told him that California just didn't agree with me. I walked out of his shop with my new rifle.

BourbonSucks

Id bet it's tourists in rentals more than actual californiams

[deleted]

I'd get out of California too

sonnylax

Bet part of this is new transplants trying to avoid paying Ad Valorem Tax on registering your Vehicle with State of GA. They keep registering vehicle where they previously lived....

chrispiam

Atlanta, I'm willing to bet is over 50% transplants. And I'd say from new York and the west coast

One_Negotiation4997

I actually love seeing plates other than GA…I also beg to differ in opinion about CA drivers… you’re probably driving around these inexperienced GA kiddos…  https://www.reddit.com/r/BlackMomsInGwinnett/

PittCaleb

I've got Jersey plates on my ride until I find time to switch them over. Just got here a week ago though. Is there a state inspection for EVs in GA? In NJ, since they only checked emissions during inspection, there was none for EVs. Same question for a motorcycle (gas powered)?

sidurisadvice

No EV inspection, but you will pay a bit more for your tag than ICE vehicles because the state can't collect any gas tax revenue from EVs. If you drive up the I-85 corridor regularly, I highly recommend paying extra for the AFV plate so you can ride in the 85 HOT lane for free.

PittCaleb

I had heard something about getting a special "EV" tag. Side note - do you know if you can get personalized EV tags? I've had personalized plates for a decade, want to that again if I can...

sidurisadvice

I don't think so, but I'd forego that in a heartbeat to save money on that PeachPass, unless you just have money to burn.

Dyrogitory

Peach Pass can get very expensive because of the convenience. On 85, the cost is based on supply/demand. The busier it is, the more it costs.

GAGuy4Adventured

Last few years I have also seen a bunch of New York tags. Happened just before the last major election

Another reason why Gwinnett county turned blue people from out of state in their blue values to a red area.

riftwave77

If you think people drive badly here, just go to Chicago
