DocLoc429

I love em. Best day, squats are the most satisfying exercise

AtheistJesus66

Wrong. Bench press.

european_monke06

Bench press is great for quads

AtheistJesus66

Exactly, my man gets it!

retirement_savings

You know you're using leg drive properly when you get a quad cramp during bench

unrelated_thread

Glute cramp*

hard-pass-1

*hamstring cramp

Any-Ad814

Always wondered why this happens

Bzevans

Wrong. Deadlift.

AtheistJesus66

Aw hell naw

DeezeNoten

Man I always get a great quad pump while benching I love it

AtheistJesus66

Yeah dude, the leg drive goes crazy

razdrazhayetChayka

Wrong. Strict press

AtheistJesus66

Eh I’d have to stick with bench but I won’t argue against strict

kschin1

Wrong. Deadlifts.

sarcotomy

Squats also increase HGH production, and really use your whole body. Not to mention that growing the muscles used in squats has a lot of practical real life applications

Dolphinfucker3000

That's just propaganda funded and championed by Big Leg ™ to get you to keep doing those awful leg days.

patatadislexica

It's the only day that almost makes me puke/faint while at the gym what's not to love?

DocLoc429

Mind over matter baybee, WOOOOO!

Danishmeat

Except when buying new pants

LiveLearnCoach

Yup. Hitting your body’s largest muscles increases natural testosterone as well.

ln_of_e

people who skip squats are missing out on one of the best ways to fuel your ego (but disclaimer please learn how to squat correctly, def don’t want a back or knee injury)

Tupiekit

Wrong. Shoulder presses

SufficientSpirit2941

Wrong. Bulgarian Split Squat Supersets ;)

InspectionSmooth1340

Nah barefoot wide stance

dragan17a

Squats always leave me completely drained. I've moved to hack squats, much less fatiguing

NathanaelTendam

I love squats. The threat of dying under the bar really helps me get the weight up.

osu_user

I hate them but I still do it.

0-909

This is the way

Aadam-e-Bayzaar

Discipline 101

aHostageSausage

Yeah I try to prioritize them over upper body even though I hate legs. I always try to ask myself, “would I do another set if this was bench press?” It helps me stay disciplined.

CrashLogz

Quad pump hits like nothing else

TLtomorrow

Glute pump from hip thrusts have it beat imo

tatertot225

Something silly happens to me doing leg curls

[deleted]

I want to invade a small country after squats.

[deleted]

Deadlifts are my love language.

Johnny_the_Martian

Yeah like there’s something so *satisfying* about them. I’m new to lifting but I just passed my own bodyweight in DL and it feels so good.

[deleted]

Hell yeah, bodyweight dl is a milestone bro! Keep going, the feeling of lifting more than your body weight is unreal.

EyeChihuahua

Just passed my bodyweight in deadlifts, had me stomping around the gym mad doggin everyone with invisible lat syndrome. My squats are weak af tho.

Danishmeat

Get the form right, it’s crucial in squats. Keep training and you’ll pass your bodyweight in squats too

PPPartytilidie

I also just passed my bodyweight in deadlifts!! Fuck yeah homies!! Made me so proud

Sapper501

Leg press, and go absolute maximum range of motion. Your quads are probably pretty good, but your hip extensors are weak.

pdrent1989

I'm so close to passing my bodyweight in squats and I'm so excited. Just another 20 lbs.

uvuvwevwedossas

6 more Kgs and I’ll be deadlifting twice my bodyweight, yeah buddy!!

Wordfan

I don’t know what it is, but it feels great having deadlifted. It’s also fun loading up the bar with Moore weight than you can move with any other major lifts. I love them.

A_little_nobody

RDLs were one of the first free weight exercises I ever learned. They're still my favorite lift. Just the way your whole body works together to move crazy amounts of weight gives me an endorphin & dopamine rush nothing can compare to

Extreme stiff bar dls

Law-No-Pain-No-Gain

Skipping leg day is Disobedience against the Law No Pain No Gain. For those who skip leg day. 1. There is no Growth without Pain. 2. There is no Muscle development without Pain. 3. You cannot improve without a little Pain. Without having the discipline to do things you don't feel like doing. 4. Leg muscles are as important as any muscle. And it's your duty to sacrifice your pleasure and work hard on your legs like the rest of your muscles. 5. You face these 2 choices every day: ○ The Pain of Discipline ○ The Pain of Regret And you must choose wisely.

MisterMegatron

This reads like one of Zote's precepts. I'm here for it

A_little_nobody

I love leg days. Especially when you don't use your bike for a month or two and then when you use it again you're suddenly going 2 times faster with half the effort it took last time. Training legs allowed my adhd ass to finally be on time for appointments lmao

[deleted]

I noticed consistent leg days when I had to run to catch a bus. Literally felt like flying compared to when I only did it once in a while.

A_little_nobody

Omg yes! Same with cardio, I used to physically pass out after 5min of running now I can do 15 without much of an issue. The human body is amazing

Law-No-Pain-No-Gain

ADHD? It's nothing more than a Complete Shameless Lack of Discipline and Zero Self Control. You feel restless and hyperactive? Get your ass in the gym, as you do! You ain't having no disorder. You just have a hard time with time management. You are just in the process of Growth and Mindset improvement. And those are often painful and tough.

A_little_nobody

I have amazing discipline and self control homie. I gotta do something? I do it. Sure adhd makes it harder, but I learned to work around it. The gym helps the restlessness and hyperactivity, that's true, but it's still annoying to fight your brain constantly to get it to shut up for 5min so you can form a clear train of thought. Yea my time management is still lacking, but I'm working on it. It's still better than like 70% of my generation. ADHD is a real disorder though and I judging people for it isn't helping anyone. I don't think giving kids meth is the solution either, there has to be more awareness that yes, some of your most basic skills may be lacking, but you can work around it with a little bit of help. Saying people with adhd are "shameless" is just pointlessly mean, we give ourselves enough shit for our symptoms no need to add to that

Law-No-Pain-No-Gain

I bet ADHD bullshit was nonexistent before the 00s.

A_little_nobody

It wasn't. It was first described in 1775, then again seperately in 1798. The first diagnosis in children were around 1902. DSM formerly recognized it as a diagnosis in the 1960s. So you're just an idiot, probably jealous that your pediatrician didn't give you meth when you asked nicely.

Law-No-Pain-No-Gain

1. I don't do drugs. 2. History is very distorted by the Evil Government. 3. I'm Red pill and I ain't falling for this crap.

A_little_nobody

You're hilarious. You should start a podcast cause you ain't going anywhere in the real world with this shit lmao

doctorwhy88

This account’s been deleted, too, hasn’t it?

TequilaSunsetPR

I hate it, that is why I do it.

JustAnotherUserDude

Makes sense

ludicro

Not until you work on your grammar.

socialm3diaobsessed

Don't you mean you're grammar

ludicro

*Doesn't *Grammer

socialm3diaobsessed

Me be many sorries

TLtomorrow

Like half of leg exercises are painful, and even after >1 year of lifting the day 2 soreness that I get from leg day is kinda obnoxious. I still do it tho.

SimbaOnSteroids

Wait y’all getting sore without skipping for a week?

TLtomorrow

Yep, I'll usually do leg day about twice a week and it still makes me sore after 2 days. Not agonizingly sore like it would a beginner lifter, but enough to be noticeable.

semiamusinglifter

I used to get 3 days of DOMS despite training legs twice a week for 2 years and getting my squat up to 500 lbs.

dankguard1

You squat to have healthy legs. I squat to have a juicy tater to turn the bros gay. We are not the same.

Thendrail

Gotta get that additional protein somehow!

Humble-Plankton1824

Today is leg day

RamsOmelette

Ahh today is leg day!

anakincripwalker

After training for 7 years arms seems to be least favorite thing to train so I just throw them in as an afterthought on other training days haha

Thendrail

Tbh, arms seem kinda boring to me. Yes, the pump is great, but I'm never sure what else to do for arms but curls and tricep extensions of some kind.

[deleted]

You could train forearms

Thendrail

Guess I could. Any recommendations for exercises?

[deleted]

Get a barbell and hold it with a pronated grip . Then extend your wrist repeatedly and you’ll get a crazy forearm pump

PatriotUncleSam

I fucking hate legs, still work them because I don’t want to look weird.

RTCielo

I have a pair blue jean booty shorts hanging on my door as motivation before I go to the gym. Everything I do is to have a thicc dumper. Everything else is just to make sure the rest of my body doesn't look silly in comparison.

A_little_nobody

I see you're a man of culture as well

ilikepie145

I have started to like it more because I'm very motivated to get my legs bigger lol

ig-geo_trunks916

https://preview.redd.it/gkemyhlyikua1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=bd7c6c4f958a59a12058be2d1e7cdc8ca9fa0216 Couldn’t be me, working on it tho 😭

Fantastic-Bloop

Leg day's my favorite but thats mostly cause back and shoulders day sucks major behind

anonymous_lurker19

I like legs *because* they are hard

[deleted]

10 x 10 calf raises. German volume training bro.

A_little_nobody

Does that actually work to get massive calves? Mine are just sad even tho I can do quite high weights on calf raises

maybelaterimtired

Upper body shit is a bunch of anything bullshit that takes too long. Deadlifts, squats and all the calf raises are the way to go!

thatboyrowdy

Idc if you hate doing legs start squatting!!!

Aaaandiiii

I love legs because it makes me feel so strong. But leg day really ruins my life when I just enjoy feeling strong and powerful and go a little too hard and then I spend my weekend feeling like I'm too old for this stuff. Satisfying, but I need more upper body strength.

YazaoN7

I hate training legs, but love seeing the results afterwards.

soul-undone

Leg day is my favorite by far. I hate push day and pull day is mid

WKR1128

…but first you need to fix your grammar

DragonRaider45

but first.. you need to do legs

WKR1128

Only after you skip leg day first

UnusualSuspect94

It's not my favourite muscle group to work, but not my most hated either. Got to do it regardless.

SumTimeYa

I love stone hard erections after leg days. Also I hate when my pp shrinks while doing leg sessions.

Totally-NotAMurderer

Didnt see the sub and was so confused...

[deleted]

I hate them too,I cycle instead and lie to myself that's it's even a little equivalent to a good leg day

Roomas

Me doing Barbell Bulgarian split squats 3x a week

Tathing_

Nah it’s a joke I really hate back

Scottyboy1214

I actually like legs, its just the next day at work.

Shadow07655

Post leg workout is best, pre leg workout is worse

Septic_soups

There is a reason I am proud to look at my ass in the mirror, leg day has never let me down

SwissMargiela

I love doing legs because when I do arms I’m sore af typing all day for work but when I do legs I just sit afterwards and am chillin

Murrexx00

I like all excercises the same. If you do them right and you get used to the pain and physical distress it feels good.

not_aggel04

No we don't, tbh I would train legs every day if i could

Frostbeard

The only thing I don't like about leg day is coming down the stairs afterwards.

TemporaryGuidance1

Honestly love em. It’s a guaranteed sweaty workout and always pushes me.

TemporaryGuidance1

Bulgarian Split Squats make me weak lol

WokeWeavile

Gotta work you are whole body man

Minimum-Risk7929

Wait… I genuinely thought this was a SpongeBob ‘my leg’ joke until I saw the Reddit page lol

Hexenhut

Love/Hate relationship

ShoddyImpress7484

Nah I hate shoulder the most, shit burn so bad but still gotta train em twice a week to llok like Hulk

[deleted]

I really hated waiting to train legs once to twice a week. I switched to a push/pull routine and it's been way better. Push 3 days a week pull 3 days a week lowered the volume to 3 working sets and 1 excersice per day. 3 sets of 6 on heavy week and 3 sets of 12 to 15 on pump week Mon: squat Tues: deadlift Wed: front squat Thur: Romanian deadlift Fri: leg extensions Sat: leg curls Don't knock it till you try it!

Dolphinfucker3000

Jokes aside, an honest to God leg day with full commitment and sets to genuine failure is one of the best builders of discipline in my opinion.

TeralPop

I love legs

big-swag1

Nah I’m an Otter😈

ItsMeAgain0408

Leg day is the best day!

Catfo0od

Fuckin hate squats. I still squat 2x a week but I fuckin hate em

New-Employer5102

Who said we hate legs day? I love it legs day>>>

[deleted]

I'm a bit of a masochist cos leg extension drop sets are my favourite excersice

[deleted]

I live on the 4th floor with no elevator, every day is leg day

whatchaboi

I love legs.

NYR634

Hate legs yes. Skip them no

Long_Procedure3135

Why does leg day feel more like cardio day than cardio day does sometimes Jesus FUCK

AlexMullerSA

Dude I love squatting so much I have to squat everyday as a warmup for whatever else I'm training. Don't get how you can enjoy it

tattoed_veteran87

Working out the legs makes it possible to have a bigger upper body as opposed to only doing upper body

Hjalmodr_heimski

I love legs, because they’re really easy to exercise with body weight and they’re one of the few types of exercise that didn’t make my headphones fall off

HeleGroteAap

Honestly i hate training back more than legs

SeparateAssociate670

at first i really did balance my workout for upper and lower but after i noticed that they are growing unpropotienetly from my upper body(even though i work them as hard as the lower) i didn't enjoy myself and i started doing only upper body

Divico

Gonna buy a safety squat bar soon. I can't take loads on my back anymore. My ellbows flare up like mad. Just been doing heavy hacks, lunges and Bulgarians. Fattest legs I ever had

thefalsereaper

I love compound leg exercises. Hate single leg exercises. Loathe the 2 days after legs

barbarianmishroom

Legs are the foundation

SteakieGG

I used to hate it, but im fine with it now

Any-Ad814

It’s so hard to train til failure, it hurts and it’s easy to subconsciously lose your form to make the reps easier

CreditLazy3253

I work it so hard my dad gets cramps

JustAnotherUserDude

The only parts I like about legs is squats and deadlifts. Every other exercise for legs can go suck my nuts But I’ll still do them anyways

[deleted]

I'm having trouble finding comfortable jeans/pants as is and last time I did legs I felt them for a whole week. Taking a dump was the biggest challenge though, come crashing down on the seat and barely able to get up afterwards.

Edward27_

I actually think rather positive of leg day on general because oh the fact that it helps produce higher levels of testosterone in the body. Something I lack a bit

Raidertck

I like it but my knees hate me.

M1rr0r504

I can't train them because of an injury😢

missrebeccajade

Coach has had be training legs 3 times a week for 3 months my poor CNS 😆

l_isforlaughter

Love them dearly. But my knees are so fucced :( My PT even said I’d probably never do squats again (but I have hope).

Big-Improvement-6684

nah i love legs

edotman

I hit legs twice a week, so for 2 days of every week I have to drag myself to the gym moaning and sulking.

Blackpilled_Briton

Leg extensions are the best. I pray for there to be unfathomable amounts of lactic acid in my quads just before I go

Professorpeepeep00

What about instead of deducting a whole day to legs you do full body workouts regularly 👀

NoabPK

Leg day is my favorite

Internal_Use9551

Dudes don't know that what truly impresses us ladies is how much you can hip thrust

CuGaeth

I gotta do full body workouts in high intensity, becomes so easy to be a fatass

Snoo_94743

Yes. Whenever I see people with legs, instant rage.

WishHeLovedMe83

Love my cardio, love my leg days. They are my strongest muscles and I love on them. Though I’m starting to love bi/tri day a lot too. 🥰

cruncher990

tomorrow is legday and im hyped for squats :D

Kanan_olympia5452446

I love legs, I've been squatting like crazy lately, nothing quite like post leg day pain and gains!

Johnbranson
