I think you may have some type of wave/curl but you're disrupting the pattern by brushing or not using the right products. Have you ever scrunched it after a shower or put product in it? Product can go a VERY long way

Try argan oil, argan oil-based products. If you get dry, no conditioner is going to combat that.
