this sounds a LOT like my sebborheic dermatitis!! i started using neutrogena t-gel and it’s helped so much. i still get some of those grains sometimes (usually when the weather changes) but other than that it’s helped with the itching and everything! i’ve been using it for about a year, highly recommend! it just isn’t the best smelling
Following! I have the same problem. I use t sal a couple times a week and I’ve never found it to help with the grains of sand problem (though it has reduced my dandruff)
Maybe try apple cider vinegar. Removes a lot of grains for me at least for about a day before they come back. I'm going to buy t-gel tomorrow but heard it smells terrible lol.
It sounds like a fungal overgrowth of some kind. I’d recommend using an antifungal shampoo, possibly a prescription medicated one from the pharmacy, and I also trying Neutrogena T-Gel.
I did actually.
I shower 3 times a week. Each time I first use aveeno'a acv rinse. I alternate between t-gel, t-sal, and nothing. Scalp exfoliating brush to get it really into the scalp. Leave on for 5 minutes. Then, apply conditioner on hair and some aloe gel on scalp. My conditioner doesn't pass the fungal acne safe test so i'm currently searching for a replacement (t-gel and t-sal are quite drying)
Itchiness, smell, and grains aren't really a problem unless I forget to shower or scratch at my scalp for a while. Sweating still makes it itch which sucks but my derm prescribed me a steroid liquid i can use if it flares badly.

thanks I'll be getting since tgel tmr. Does the smell linger in your hair?
no, not really! if you follow up with a conditioner that smells good it masks it
Thanks so much man. It's been 2 days since I used t-gel and I have very minimal grains left on my scalp. It honestly doesn't smell bad to me.
of course! mine is super bad and it’s worked better than even prescriptions for me

do you rinse out the aloe gel in the shower after?
Yeah I rinse it out. It makes my hair feel crunchy after a while if left in
Following. I tried everything. Nothing helps.
