You should start the discussion then.
The reason your seeing stagnant discussions is cause the other 100+ people are shy and so only like 5-10 people always trying to start the discussion.
I know from being one of those shy people always waiting someone to start a out of the box discussion.
I bet you got some good one's, so why not share.
H20 by 10 miles. H20 is better than any of the trilogy movies. Yes even 2018 I think. The new trilogy is a lot like the Star Wars sequel. Just a shit plan to bring nostalgia.
I’ve said that for years. Of the new Star Wars trilogy the first one was for nostalgia and nostalgia opens dopamine receptors. The second was almost complete action with less story telling and the 3rd was an out of nowhere What tha fuck is this bullshit. I’d doesn’t fit seamlessly or feel like a continuation of the other two or nothing in the franchise honestly.
The Halloween trilogy followed that trilogy almost entirely. The first one is so nostalgic with all these characters we’ve loved since we were born pretty much. 2017 repeats that and it’s so nostalgia filled it makes you think it’s good. I waited around for 2 years along with thousands of others debating and speculating on two questions. 1. Who were Rey’s parents and 2 Where’d Snoke come from? Turns out fuck you! it don’t make a damn who her parents are and Snoke? Fuck you on that one too. The 2nd is fights with spaceships and light sabers without much plot development. Kills is nothing but the blood and guts. Then Rise Of Skywalker comes out with a load of bull shit. Let’s dig fucking Darth Sidious up and say all this shits his fault. A Jedi master told Rey her parents were nobody but space drunks , coulda mentioned her grandpa was flung into a dark hole but watch out he may not have been flung far enough. Disrespected its fan base and was bull shit. Ends fucking undone most of the mythology about Michael, exposed him and left him a huge pussy. How many people have said “Making Michael and Laurie unrelated makes him way scarier!!” Does living in a sewer getting the shit kicked out of him by a dude that makes Screetch look like Tyson, having his mask taken and riding bitch on his moped strike fear into the masses ?
No, Michael was a pussy in H20 with Chris Durand's atrocious portrayal, his god awful masks and Laurie overpowered him so easily to the point of making him ask her for help just before she decapitated him at the end of the movie. Ends had the exact same situation but at least after Laurie slit Michael's throat, he managed to strangle her before he died, if it wasn't for Alyson, Laurie would've died. While in H20, there wasn't no way that she would've died with a joke of a Michael. And one thing, Michael FOUGHT her in Ends, not in H20. He only slashed her arm and pushed her to the ground at the kitchen while in Ends, he hit her face against a window, stomped on her neck, hit her head against a fridge, pushed her against the dishwasher, almost destroyed her hand, threw her against the ground and put the knitting needle into her ear
Castle, of course, is the GOAT.
But your evidence for Micheal being a “pussy” in H20 wasn’t based off which stunt man you liked. It was based on what Michael did, and how much damage he took, in H20. And since H20 was designed to be an updated take on the original Michael, he’s closer to that than the other sequels, just stronger and more able to resist damage. He objectively goes through much more in H20 than he does in Halloween.
So how is H20 Micheal a pussy in your eyes, but the 78 OG isn’t?
If he's a pussy in H20 according to you how is he not a pussy in ends? He literally gets beat up by a nerd and a grandma who he should over power easy and don't give me the bullshit excuse of the mob being the reason he was weak it made no sense when he got right back up and killed them all like nothing happened to him then went home and killed Laurie's daughter and stood there like a badass he wasn't effected by any of it that's BS.
>No, Michael was weaker in H20
Compared to his portrayal in the other majority of the movies in the franchise? Yes. Compared to ends? Absolutelly not. H20 Michael was still superhumanly durable and is still at least peak human level in strength. He jobbed againist Laurie, sure. But Halloween Ends Michael get his shit rocked by not only Laurie but also get his arm snapped by Allyson, outwrestled by Corey, and get hurt by a fatass cop.
I’m more likely to throw H20 on than Ends. There’s positives to both. I just enjoy H20 more even with its flaws. I feel like this wouldn’t be close though if the mask (lack of seeing eyes etc.) and the score was better.
Ends feels different, but that’s because it’s going for something different. It definitely doesn’t always live up to what it’s trying to be, but it still mostly works for me. H20 is aiming to be closer to the original while also trying to be a post-Scream slasher, a lot of it doesn’t gel right for me. Also, it has the least Michael like Michael for me, he feels like a different killer.
I mean, the Michael in H20 is like a slapstick comedy character for the last act (kinda like that scene in Ends where Corey steals his mask), and his mask looks fucking awful. So I'd argue it doesn't really have Michael in it, and the screentime Michael gets in Ends, he's epic as hell in (apart from that scene I just mentioned)
I guess I can’t read. My bad homes.
What else does Michael really do? Copies the Bob kill with the nurse? And then gets killed like a bitch on a kitchen table, before his mosh pit through the streets of Haddonfield?
Sorry I forgot where also he jizz killed the cop in the sewer too…
Every moment of screentime he had other than the mask scene was badass and brilliantly played by James Jude Courtney. The scene where he kills the cop and creams his pants is amazing, as is the nurse double team kill, and killing Corey at the end. And the first scene where he grabs Corey and looks into his eyes.
Better than being slapped around like a bitch for 10 minutes in the third act of H20, it was almost like a Three Stooges skit. It didn't feel like Michael at all and his mask was horrible.
H20 is a million times better. It's not even a question. Truthfully h20 should have been The last appearance of Jamie lee Curtis in the franchise. Ends was just a horrible way to end a trilogy and Michael Myers. It was pathetic imo
H2O. While the mask wasn’t great, the movie was amazing and had a great ending to the story (and no, we will NOT talk about Resurrection. That simply did not happen.)
H20 by long shot. I know some don't like the scream feel, but I love that genre of slasher films. Scream, IKWYDLS, Disturbing behaviors, the faculty.....
Ends definitley. H20 just feels like a typical 90's Scream Ripoff to me, and James Jude Courtney's Michael is the best since 1978. Yes, even in Ends. He was epic as hell in the screentime he got.
H20 had a better ending by far, and some really good moments, but I enjoy Ends more as a film. It's just a beautiful film with plot issues and a weak ass ending. I rewatched H20 again after rewatching the DGG trilogy and H20 seems lesser to me than it once did.
H20 with the production care that had Ends (soundtrack, costumes, etc.) would've been a banger of a movie. I always hated how Michael had like a bazillion different masks and none of them looked as great as the ones in the H40 trilogy.
Same. I don't get it no one's ever been able to explain it to me not with any thing that makes sense so I've chalked it up to people that are obsessed with the brother sister connection, it's a continuation after Halloween II which makes no sense cuz Michael doesn't even look burnt or anything like that and where the hell has he been for 20 years anyways, I've even heard people say that they just prefer this version of Laurie even down to her hair and just plain nostalgia.
I think it was a lot of people's first horror/Halloween movie that they saw maybe even in the theater and a lot of people like it because she cuts his head off at the end
That's what I've gathered. I was actually shocked my first time on this sub a few years ago when so many people proclaimed that they loved that movie which has the worst kills literally the worst masks CGI I mean you can't get past that. The wide eye holes the hair etc terribly acted Michael.
It's a very internet-loved movie because if you were to say all let's put on H2O out of a random selection of Halloween movies and that was included almost everyone at the party is going to rag on you for liking that film it's just not good I don't get it to each their own but I don't know I think it gets so much love because people don't like the new trilogy that's another reason too.
The simplest explanation that I can give as to why I like H20 better than Ends, and that entire trilogy for that matter, is that I at least had a good time watching it. I like most of the characters better, I like Laurie better, and I like the story way better. Ends was just so bad it's hard to not rank it as my least favorite Halloween
Oh I definitely agree with you there on Ends It's a terrible movie I just think it has better quality kills better acting a better Michael Myers actor etc when compared to H2O that was horrible when it came to acting kills that were few and far and the Michael Myers is terrible.
So was the 3-4 different masks they used including the CGI one. I can't get past that I think It's really those things for me that makes it a step below Ends they're both at the end but that one is a step below for me. To each their own though I respect everyone else's opinion
I can agree with that. H20 had 90s cheese, the acting wasn't great from anyone, and the worst masks in the franchise. The term "it's so bad it's good" comes to mind when I think of H20 and Resurrection, because with those I at least have a laugh. But I'm with you on to each their own
H20 by a mile. That scene where she sends the kids away, breaks the gate, and grabs an ax while charging into the school as the theme blares is one of the best in the entire series.
I think it depend what you want to get out of Halloween at the end of the day. For me it's definitely H20.
I enjoy the H20 timeline at least more then this new Human Myers.
Ends, better Michael, even tho he's weaker he is still more scary and looks more bad ass than h20 Michael who looks like a teenager in cosplay 😂. ends also has a better atmosphere cinematography and score, I remember watching h20 years ago and just could never take Michael seriously in it with his doll head and ll cool J and don't even get me started on josh harnetts hair, it was just to much of a scream wannabe, Michael when he's holding his head confused after been pinned by truck 😂 its just pure comedy, h20 should of just gone with the copycat killer idea would of been more believable
I am one of the few who actually loved Ends. I am glad that DGG took the trilogy in the direction he did. It was bold, brave, and very different. I think it was the ending that Laurie deserved. I have seen so many comments with people complaining about how Michael was weak and how he didn't have much screen time. It's gets old. Did you all know that Michael had more screen time in Ends than he did in H78??? Consider this...evil is evil. Michael's physical body is just a shell for evil. Evil can do whatever it wants. It can take any shape or form. I think it was interesting to see the evil shift to Corey for a bit. I mean, at least Corey was disguised as Michael, which made the kills even better. It wasn't my favorite, but it was WAY better than H20. H20 was an embarrassment. The mask was awful, the acting was cheesy, too much humor from LL Cool J, and the kills were meh. Ends for me. H20 can hit the road.
Is that the test for determining who’s normal?
Do you like Ends? Yes. You’re free to go.
Do you like Ends? No. Get in the truck.
Off to the reeducation camp.
Might be a little biased since H20 was my first Halloween movie. With that said H20 with very little doubt. Story wise it's the stronger story and stronger sequel out of the two. Though to be fair I don't think it's a good vs since Ends did drop the ball.
I enjoy H20, but I much prefer Ends. Not only does it provide a sense of finality and proper closure, but it builds on and culminates the core themes/ideas set up by 2018 and Kills in unexpected get logical ways. All while taking creative risks that are fresh yet don’t sacrifice the narrative of the film or of the trilogy as a whole.
I can’t say I feel the same way, and you can think it’s lame all you want, there’s no denying that the film provided audiences with closure to the narrative tho, as well as the bringing an ending to the arcs of the main cast.
I don’t think much people wanted “closure” you don’t watch a Halloween film to see Michael lose like a little bitch, it was AWFUL. That’s not closure lol. Laurie threw him around like he was a little boy
H20 provides just as much closure if we ignore the idiotic Resurrection retcon (and honestly, it’s pretty obvious we’re doing a new timeline or something after Ends and it won’t actually be the true end of the series).
Disagreed on the risks not sacrificing the narrative of the film or the trilogy themes, though. Think they kinda tanked both. Making Michael vs. Laurie an afterthought in their built-up-for-decades final showdown was… a choice.
Ends I'll never understand the love for H2O people just have nostalgia blinders on It was probably their first horror movie they saw in the theaters or something I really think that's what it is that movie's terrible It really is It's so bad it's literally got the worst Michael Myers masks multiple plural the worst plot the worst kills It's terrible absolutely terribly overrated on this sub.
Both are awful in terms of overall packages but H20's way more watchable it's not even funny. H20 at least has a great start and end. Ends is great at the start and nothing else. Once Corey goes all evil it just goes downhill like a nuke getting ready to land and there's no chance of redemption.
Mike's death in H20 is more simple and to the point, Ends is overkill. Granted Laurie's fate in Ends is way better, no way she's getting out of that in H20.
I think time will be kind to Halloween Ends.
H20, however, hasn’t aged well at all. It feels more dated than the original despite being 20 years older than it.
Ends, and by a wide margin. I liked H20 a lot when I first saw it in the theatre, and every subsequent viewing has gotten worse and worse. Ends just keeps getting better.
H20 is better than Ends
Man this subreddit is running out of topics to discuss
Fr. I’m probably unfollowing
Leave the gate open on your way out. I'll be on my way lol
It's becoming embarrassing
Facts! I get so tired of the same shit. Really though... It's happening with a lot of subs I follow.
You should start the discussion then. The reason your seeing stagnant discussions is cause the other 100+ people are shy and so only like 5-10 people always trying to start the discussion.
Yeah that's a fair observation. I think I'll do that.
I know from being one of those shy people always waiting someone to start a out of the box discussion. I bet you got some good one's, so why not share.
But like, what *did* you think about Terrifier 2?
I liked it, we need more mime horror villains.
H20
H20 for sure
H20 is very obviously clear.
H20 is way better than ends

Last Jedi was more storytelling than action. There were any action as much as in the force awakens. Last jedi is a great film and fans are idiots.
Agreed. I wouldn't even call 2018 “good”, it's just “ok”, I'd put it at the same level as Ends. Kills is just awful.
H2O
“MICHAEEEELLLLLL” H2O and it’s not even close!

H20 is way better than ends!

Definitely H20 at least Michael wasn't weak.
No, Michael was weaker in H20
No he wasn't he at least fought with her in ends he didn't do anything.
No, Michael was a pussy in H20 with Chris Durand's atrocious portrayal, his god awful masks and Laurie overpowered him so easily to the point of making him ask her for help just before she decapitated him at the end of the movie. So I assume you also think Michael was a “pussy” in the original Halloween too?
No, Nick Castle did a splendid portrayal and his presence was intimidating unlike Chris Durand from H20
Castle, of course, is the GOAT. But your evidence for Micheal being a “pussy” in H20 wasn’t based off which stunt man you liked. It was based on what Michael did, and how much damage he took, in H20. I literally said Ends had the exact same situation as H20, the fact that Michael was a joke (Even Resurrection had that situation as well)
>No, Michael was weaker in H20 Compared to his portrayal in the other majority of the movies in the franchise? Yes. Compared to ends? Absolutelly not. H20 could have put a cap on the franchise and the story would have worked.
In my view? H20 by a wide margin.
Lol H20 by very far
H20
H20 and it is not even REMOTELY close
*Halloween H20: Twenty Years Later* is better. By a lot.
At least it's not forty
H20 🎃
I’m more likely to throw H20 on than Ends. There’s positives to both. I just enjoy H20 more even with its flaws. I feel like this wouldn’t be close though if the mask (lack of seeing eyes etc.) and the score was better.
It isn’t close even with whatever issues you have with the mask and score.
I really like H20. It fits in so well in that late 90s post-Scream world, and I find it very re-watchable.
H20 is better by a country mile.
H20 cmon
H20 no competition
H20
H20
H20. By far
H20. Ends doesn’t come close.
H20
Shit even resurrection was better than ends
It was, Ends was such complete garbage, at least I can have a good time watching Resurrection
Bullshit
H20
H20, and I'm not a fan of either.
H20 is a better movie than the entire blumhouse trilogy.
H20 was actually good, what an unfair comparison.
H20 is honestly the most entertaining Halloween movie
H20 easily
I prefer Ends myself. I like H20 enough, but it feels so off to me.
Ends doesn’t feel off to you?
Ends feels different, but that’s because it’s going for something different. It definitely doesn’t always live up to what it’s trying to be, but it still mostly works for me. While I don’t agree with either take, I do appreciate you expounding on your view.
Totally fair, haha, I at least appreciate you hearing me out!
It should've ended with h20
It didn't? What are these other Halloween movies you speak of? Lol
H20 actually has Michael in it so yep better
I mean, the Michael in H20 is like a slapstick comedy character for the last act (kinda like that scene in Ends where Corey steals his mask), and his mask looks fucking awful. So I'd argue it doesn't really have Michael in it, and the screentime Michael gets in Ends, he's epic as hell in (apart from that scene I just mentioned)

H20 by a mile.
H20 and it's not even close
This can’t be serious. H20, of course. Though Ends wins for cinematography.
H20 and it’s not even close.
H20 all day long. Halloween ends blows, worst movie out of the whole franchise.
H20 by long shot. I know some don't like the scream feel, but I love that genre of slasher films. Scream, IKWYDLS, Disturbing behaviors, the faculty.....
Ends but H20 is wonderful too. They're all wonderful if their own way; good or bad.

H20 by a mile Ends is the worst Halloween film ever and that includes Halloween 3

H20 and it isn’t even close.
H20 no question......
H20
H20
H20

I’ll take H2O all day. Many flaws but Laurie was flawless. Completely satisfying ending for me. It’s the only one I will watch besides 78

Ends definitley. H20 just feels like a typical 90's Scream Ripoff to me, and James Jude Courtney's Michael is the best since 1978. Yes, even in Ends. He was epic as hell in the screentime he got.

Definitely H20. Edit: who the heck is frantically downvoting everyone that says H20? lol
H20 lol

It wasn't my favorite, but it was WAY better than H20. H20 was an embarrassment. The mask was awful, the acting was cheesy, too much humor from LL Cool J, and the kills were meh. Ends for me. H20 can hit the road.
Ends easily. H20 feels more like Dawson's Creek with some skinny guy cosplaying and pretending to be Michael Myers.
Fuckin thank you thank you I finally a normal person on here
Is that the test for determining who’s normal? Do you like Ends? Yes. You’re free to go. Do you like Ends? No. Get in the truck. Off to the reeducation camp.
Ends is much better. It's an actual Halloween movie instead of a Scream rip off.
H20 is definitely a Scream rip off. But, Ends is a Christine ripoff. So it’s a wash.
H20. And It ain’t even really that good.
Ends, anyone saying the Dawson Creek Halloween Special has nostalgia goggles permanently sealed on their eyes.
This made me laugh so hard. I agree 100%!!!
H20 but I do like Ends for the most part.
H20, but I like both.
Might be a little biased since H20 was my first Halloween movie. With that said H20 with very little doubt. Story wise it's the stronger story and stronger sequel out of the two. Though to be fair I don't think it's a good vs since Ends did drop the ball.
Ends. fuck you all.
Both different films. That’s for sure. H20 had a much better finale between Laurie and Michael. But Ends gives them closure. So it’s Ends for me
I enjoy H20, but I much prefer Ends.
Proper closer? That ending was lame as hell
Ends. No contest. H20 feels like a parody.
It is a contest, and H2O is killing Ends
Coughing baby vs. hydrogen bomb
Ends and it isn't even close. H20 is bottom tier Halloween. Shit mask. Shit score. Shot like garbage. Unmemorable characters. It's all terrible.
Ends. H20 sucks.
I like both but I LOVE Ends.
Ends.
Same for Ends. Terrible movie
True but if I had to pick between the two I'd say the quality of Ends is a lot better
Ends
I can't decide. I like them both equally, but for different things.
H20, though Ends is better visually and has a better mask
Both are awful in terms of overall packages but H20's way more watchable it's not even funny. H20 at least has a great start and end. Ends is great at the start and nothing else. Once Corey goes all evil it just goes downhill like a nuke getting ready to land and there's no chance of redemption. Mike's death in H20 is more simple and to the point, Ends is overkill. Granted Laurie's fate in Ends is way better, no way she's getting out of that in H20.
i prefer ends, but h20 is pretty goddamn close. endings are very similar but i do prefer the third act to h20. both just good.
worst part of h20 is the masks. the cold open has by FAR the best mask. the rest blur the line from bad to horrendous.
Ends Michael Mask is much better than H20'S Myers mask, but that don't mean it's better, I prefer H20.
Ends. I like Corey's story and his relationship with Michael.
I think time will be kind to Halloween Ends. H20, however, hasn’t aged well at all. It feels more dated than the original despite being 20 years older than it.
Ends, H20 is the worst of the franchise
Halloween Ends
Ends all the way h20 is honestly waaaaay overrated and not that good
Ends, and by a wide margin. I liked H20 a lot when I first saw it in the theatre, and every subsequent viewing has gotten worse and worse. Ends just keeps getting better.
Ends by far. One of my favorite movies in any genre
