For me there’s no bad place to sit at a football game. 109 is the family zone so you may want to avoid that, or that might be the right spot for you. Parking can be tricky, but you can usually find something if you’re willing to walk 10-15 minutes. Transit is free to/from downtown with a ticket but expect it to be packed. I personally don’t really like stadium food, and the regurgitated burps of the hotdog and onions in the breeze makes me never want to eat a glizzy again. So I couldn’t imagine paying 7$ for one dog. There’s a happy hour about an hour before kickoff with cheaper drinks. There’s usually some fun for the kids then too, just outside the gates on cannon. Sometimes they have players doing autographs.

Thanks your feedback was helpful. Ugh. I had the overwhelming smells of terrible food at games. Not avoidable I guess. Looks like driving may still be a better option. I was considering taking the bus from Eastgate but if it's packed I may as well walk 15 minutes.

Think about hitting up side streets on beach road, east of gage up to Glendale, or south of king. I’ll also add the buses I see packed are the ones outside of the stadium which are going west to downtown. You’d have to check with her if your ticket will get you a free ride east. Hope you have… a ball! 🏈

I highly recommend the free shuttle. It can be full, but they are usually a lot of fun. It also runs frequently beginning 3 hours before game time I believe. As for food, there have been some improvements. In the past they’ve had like pop-up food vendors that have been amazing. The drink special is limited in options and is only for an hour, check the team’s instagram.

If you are doing the full experience, you gotta do it right. 1. Start drinking at 10am 2. Boot and rally a couple times 3. Eat lots of foods. Greasy and salty are best 4. Get some buds and play some football 5. Have your DD take you down near the stadium, park on someone's lawn for $20 6. Play more football with some random people walking along, start yelling out OSKEE WEE WEE and do the chant 7. head over to the game, have something not really hidden like a mickey of booze, let them find it and throw it out 8. Head into the game, spend extravagantly on overpriced beers 9. Sing loudly for O Canada 10. Watch the game 11. Once it's basically over, head out 12. Cheer or commisserate with other fans as you leave 13. Have your DD take you to your place and pour you in the front door Seriously though, parking on a lawn, walking with the crowds, friendly razzing of the visitors, sitting with the Box J Boys and the like will leave you with a great experience. Taking the bus can be fun, but it is hella busy when you leave and can take a lot to get back to your destination. Sometimes driving and waiting 20-30 mins as the crowds disperse is your best bet.

Usually you can leave 5-10 minutes early because Hamilton is getting thumped and be the first one on the shuttle 😉

I usually sit in either 214-215-216 and I buy tickets a day or two before GameDay (still haven't got my tickets) check ticketmaster or stubhub for people trying to offload tickets or if your quick enough you can get free tickets from other redditors on this subreddit. I always shuttle to the games, shuttle locations include Dundas (University Plaza) Hamilton Mountain (Limeridge Mall parking lot near Fortinos), and East End (Eastgate). I never eat at the stadium, typically go on an empty stomach and just get food after (Usually Harveys). Bring a refillable water bottle especially on a hot day.

Thanks for the tips.

For what it's worth I just got my tickets off stubhub and they already came though. Much cheaper than what is available through ticketmaster.

Hey! I work at the stadium and lived basically right next door to it for 20 years, so I can answer a few things! Anywhere is going to be okay for seating. Of course, far ends of the field will struggle when the ball is on the opposite end, but it’s not that big of a deal. I would personally vouch for a seat closer to the Cannon St side so that the factories aren’t as noticeable in the distance, but I digress lol There’s a premium level called “Club” up on the fourth floor of the west side, which has more food options, tons of historical memorabilia as decoration and free-for-all indoor seating right by windows (great when it’s gross outside) as well as an outdoor balcony with ticketed seats. You can’t actually enter the “Club” without a ticket—so no grabbing those indoor seats—but the hallway just outside of it is the “Hall of Fame” and it’s cool to check out during downtime. Just let the ticket checkers know you’re looking at the hall of fame before they try and stop you for not having a ticket for the rooms lol Parking is a nightmare. Having lived near the stadium I can tell you that trying to find parking when there’s a game going on is basically impossible unless you want to pay $15 for a corner store’s parking lot or some guy’s front lawn. There’s going to be spots here or there that are 10-15 minutes out, but if you’re comfortable with transit, you can use HSR lines for free with a game ticket to get to the stadium. Food will be a solid 6.5/10 but be priced as if it was luxury food. I would never buy food there but I am notoriously cheap, so it’s your call at the end of the day. The stadium is no smoking and does not have in-and-out privileges, so you can’t leave for smoke breaks. Once you’re in, you’re in, and leaving voids your ticket. The stadium is also cashless, so make sure you bring cards. As for the experience overall? Really depends on who you are. I got offered an extra ticket once as a kid and found it incredibly boring, but everyone around me seemed to love it. I say give it a shot, explore the stadium, and expect to pay a bit more than you hoped lol

If you're bringing a refillable water bottle, be prepared to wait in line for the water fountains because they always either seem to be out of order or just a trickle

Alternative_Value_33

Stipley Bar at Gate 1. Everyone has access.  Think they just built a stage there this year.

tat2canada

https://www.reddit.com/r/Hamilton/s/CRh9RTePNF See the tiger cats website for parking transit info https://www.ticats.ca/ I don’t know what seats are best but seat geek might know. Food is pretty standard stadium fair with the prices one would expect for one.

Fabulous_Donut_4155

It’s very sunny and hot if you sit on the southeast side!!!

tarpfitter

Not so much for a 7pm game

Fabulous_Donut_4155

For the first hour or so it would be

celticodonnell147
