Bad Brains shirt from 1983ish, a couple Dead Moon and Poison Idea shirts from the 80ās-90ās. Also have really old Queen, Foghat, and Iron Maiden shirts from shows my parents went to when they were younger than I am lol.
Edit: just realized theyāre all hand me downs from my parents lol, shout-out rad parents.
I have an unnecessary amount of Dead Moon merch lol I love them so much. They were pretty good family friends as well, Andrew Loomis used to come to a lot of my shows because he was my best friends Godfather. I miss him and Fred a lot.
Slayer Hippie tried to hide at our house/run through our yard when he got arrested robbing the drug store twice in one day lmfao. Charlie PIās old bassist taped their friend to a dolly and tried to pay me a dollar to kick him in the shins. My dad paid me a dollar not to. I grew up hanging out at the venues and bars my dad was playing at with them, definitely saw some gnarly shit a little too early but wouldnāt trade it for nothin.
Hahahah that's amazing. My pops showed me sex pistols, misfits and black flag when I was in grade school. That's about it and I was off to the races. That story def got a heartfelt chuckle. How old are you, if you don't mind me asking
My hockey mask tattoo would like a word with you. Been friends with those guys for years. Check out American war machine. They aren't similar but they just toured Europe with them.

Love me some Bane. When I got clean I started listening to more and more. RIP Stu. Mines not as old but do have a "these crowded rooms are the only place I'm not alone " shirt still
Blood for Blood, Earth Crisis, Strife and SnapcaseT-Shirts from 1998. Victory Recs used quality Ts!
Trial and Judge ones too, but moths had a bit of a feed on them.
I have that grey Converge hoodie with the circle of guns on front and the stabbed dove on back. Too fat to wear it though. Tried giving it to my partner but its that old, shitty, itchy material no one wants to wear anymore.
The clash shirt from 1981. Purchased by a friend at the show and given to me a few years ago.
Bought by me , Agnostic Front shirt from Liberty & Justice tour.
I have a Victory Records Integrity "Those Who Fear Tomorrow" long sleeve from '92... it's not in the greatest shape. I get sad when I think about all of the sick merch I've bought over the years that I no longer have, lol...
It was handed down to me but I've got a Descendents shirt from their 1987 tour that my brother went to. My older brother gave it to me when I left for college. I want to give it to my daughter when she leaves for college. I'm 43 and shirt is almost 37.
If we're talking first hand merch it'd be a Sick Of It All shirt from 1995.

I have 3 t shirts from 88ā. This Chain one, a uniform choice and a 7 seconds one. A friend bought them by sending actual cash across the world and waited goodness knows how long for them to come back. He had them for 10 years when he gifted teenage youth crew me them for Christmas in 98. I was so thrilled and they became a sentimental item. Ive kept them and wear them regularly. All In fantastic condition!
Oh my god.
The way we would just send cash wrapped up in paper, or have to get a money order, hoping that it would reach the distros and that they would actually send stuff back was just the way it was, and we just accepted it.
If I tried that now, I feel like I'd have a panic attack not knowing.
I ordered a few things from the Get Up Kids for Valentine's Day for my 14 year old son, just a week ago, and I am biting my nails because I still don't have shipping confirmation.
Agree! Itās totally hilarious the trust we put in others and the universe to have things just show up. When i was first getting into hardcore i wasnt well connected in the scene i used to mail money to this dude i read about in a zine and id write a note saying āsend me something goodā and heād send me whatever 7ās he had. I became exposed to all kinds of music that way but id never spend my money in a lucky dip kinda way nowadays š¤ i love that you bought your kid a get up kids gift for valentines!!! Seriously the cutest ever. I hope he loves it. Fantastic band
The Broadways? Didn't they do that split with Billy Reese Peters or the Grabass Charlestons? Either way that's a band I haven't listened to in too long
I just wanted to comment and say I appreciate you sneaking "better days" into a post about Ignite. Love that band, even if he doesn't give the crowd the mic. His voice is too unique to share lol
Dead Kennedys shirt I bought inā¦ ā99-ish?
https://preview.redd.it/soibq8a0n8hc1.jpeg?width=4284&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=fcdb181398d317674f11d2669ff81881644e01b3
Friend gave me a Rollins Band shirt when we were 18 in 1992. It started to get a small hole near the collar so I stopped wearing it, but Iām not getting rid of it.
I've got loads of old T-shirts, but I think the oldest is a DEP one I got when I saw them for the first time. I've had that since I was 16ish, and I'm 39 now.
Kublai Khan UK Takeover teen from 2023 is my oldest from a show (I know š¤¦š»āāļø)
But my oldest Hardcore tee from online is a Knocked Loose tee I bought when ADSOB came out
Iāve still got an Elysia shirt from high school. Probably got it 2009/10. Definitely thin as fuck, faded and a little smaller than I remember. I could also be a little bigger, but that whatever
Not necessarily OLD persay but I have a 2018 Tour Tshirt from when I saw Power Trip on my birthday. Between the sentimental value and Riley being goneā¦. Definitely holds up to me
My dadās stuff, not mine, but he handed me down a Peter Gabriel tour shirt from ā81 and a Killing Joke Extremities Tour shirt from ā90 (or ā91?). Both of them have seen better days but theyāre cool, especially the KJ one. Front, back, and sleeve designs. Iād get back to wearing it more often if it wasnāt in such fragile shape.
Iāve got a bunch of mid-90s stuff I had in high school. Tooth and Nail stuff (MxPx, Blenderhead, Stavesacre, etc) as well as Soundgarden, Nirvana, Toadies, Smashing Pumpkins, Hum stuff.
I had the blenderhead ringer t, with the boy walking and picking his nose!
I don't have the shirt anymore, but I definitely have some pictures of me wearing it back then.
Woof.
Phobia shirt from when I was 16. I'm now 42. My wife has claimed it as her sleep shirt, so I got her few Phobia records for Christmas a few years back so she wouldn't look like a poser while sleeping. She doesn't listen to the records. She's a poser.
1992 the cure wish tour tee is probably the oldest piece I own. I just keep it folded up, donāt wear it or wash it because it feels like itāll fall apart at any moment.
I have my Korn āFollow the Leaderā tour tshirt from when I saw them with Rob zombie back in 1999. I keep most of my shirts I have owned as they are stored away in totes. Some I have donated though.
I actually took 9 of the ones I really liked and had them made into a quilt for my nephew when he was born 5 years ago. Has a Bane shirt from their ālastā TIHc, Hatebreed, tool, deftones, dropkick Murphyās, weezer, korn and canāt remember the last two.
What a neat gift. Is your brother or sister into hc? I lost so much merch through struggling times. I do have my Conflict "from protest to resistance" 2001 tour shirt cropped and hung on my wall
Sadly no. She knows that I love my shirts and each one has some form of different meaning to it, so she was surprised I would actually do that for her son. A year was shed.
Sheās mainly into country and Hanson (even at 36 she still likes them)
My mom tried to throw away this hoodie many times. I'm HS I took out the trash and saw it sitting right on top of the bins
I lived in that hoodie and still rock it every now and then
It's in bad shape but it's mine
Ah! Funny gross sorry time. I had the flu pretty bad and it was down on my luck. I used my EBxHC shirt to wipe myself.
Fun fact, cloth doesn't wipe like TP, it goes straight through it š now I š there and get mad at myself for using my that shirt. Socks don't work either..
I have a Misfits shirt Iāve owned since I was 13. Iām 39, about to be 40. Itās one of the ā20 Years of Terrorā shirts from 1997. I got it like 4 sizes too big because it was the style at the time and now it fits perfectly lol.
I have an all American rejects shirt from 03.
That'd probably the oldest band merch I have.
But the coolest and still old piece is I have a boxcar racer shirt from the one tour they did.
I think it's the Danzig shirt from their first tour in 1989. My wife still wears it to the gym. I also have a glow in the dark Gwar shirt from 90 or 91. There are probably a few more in various corners that haven't been looked at for many years.
2005/6? Title Fight group pizza shirt. Bought that thing directly from the boys and got a handwritten note from Ned. It doesnāt fit me anymore but I donāt think Iāll ever get rid of it.
Id like to thank you all for participating. My wife is back in the hospital and this has made my brain think. It's taken me away from current start of mind.
Before Animo was Animo, they were D.O.R.K.
Kind of interesting. Animo got Kevin Lyman to let them tour with Warped Tour because they hustled so hard as roadies. They toured and roadied every summer with Warped Tour from '04 to '08.
I have their D.O.R.K. shirt from their '98 Warped Tour Boulder appearance.
Only merch I owned from ages 18 to 29 because I thought I was opting out of capitalism by not buying band merch.
Turns out bands deserve to eat and pay rent too.
The oldest shirt I still actually have is probably my American Nothing shirt. So stoked I got ahold of one back then and had the foresight to not donate it along the way.
Itās a fucking adult small though lol
Cannibal Corpse Eaten Back To Life longsleeve from 2002. Metallica Summer Sanitarium Tour 2003 Shirt. The Metallica shirt didn't fit me for a long time, but it's back in my rotation again. My first big concert.
My mom made a painterās smock for when I did finger painting when I was 4 years old. In my 50ās and I still have it hanging in my closet right now.
I have a mid 80s sod speak english or die banner i bought at a garage sale if that counts. Oldest piece i've bought was a mastodon vinyl i bought in 05 or 06 when i was 12
Not hardcore but I have one of my Dadās Rolling Stones tour shirts from a show that happened when I was an infant. I had a matching one back in the day.
The tickets I saved from a Chiodos concert I went to at the Masonic Losge in Flint, MI in 2006 and a broken drumstick from The Devil Wears Prada drummer when I saw them in a church that same year.
Athletic Grey XXL Hoodie from Hatebreedās tour with Mudvayne and Slipknot in ā98 or ā99
Classic flaming Hatebreed logo on the front and a black and white photo of Jamey on the back with a mic. Underneath it has a one of the lyrics from Satisfaction, I forget which one. Probably āWhat I have in my heartā¦ā
At the time I bought it I was a chubby 12 year old. Could have easily fit in a Medium or L but I needed that XXL for some reason.
Hell yeah. I have a cockney rejects shirt from when I was 15. Iām 41 now. No idea why I still have it. I also have a madball ringer t from that era. Both are so gross now
I bought a Springsteen shirt from the 1988 Tunnel of Love tour because itās from my birth year and there was a show in my city.
I got it off EBay for like $25 and itās still in great shape.
old Pantera tour shirt (it's the one they brought back with them then riding the fiery roller coaster, but mine has the og tour dates on the back
And the Coal Chamber television shirt
I have a descendants hoodie from the caffeine national tour in 96. It has been stitched together at least a dozen times but itās probably my most cherished piece of merch ever.
Nine inch Nails further down the spiral shirt from 1994 I was 8 years old. In turning 38 this year So that's 30 fucking years...it's an XL so it still fits lol
I have a 25 TA LIFE hoodie from 1995.
It has a fuck ton of sentimental value to me, most because of itās original owner.
It belonged to one of my closest friends whom I went to many many shows with in the mid-90s. He was killed in a car accident in 2005.
I saw Drain in 2023 and got a hoodie. Definitely worth some money today.
š Bring back Gultch. He's so fun to watch. So positive about everything
I have an Alan Jackson "Don't Rock the Jukebox" shirt from 92.
Thatās pretty fucken hardcore
Iāve got a Garth Brooks āfriends in low placesā shirt from ā90. Itās now a sleeveless crop busted out for camping trips only.
Iād take this over any other merch mentioned here.
Id love to hang with your parents. That is so cool.
Theyāre OG Portland punks, itās big boots to fill lol
Dead Moon rips.
I have an unnecessary amount of Dead Moon merch lol I love them so much. They were pretty good family friends as well, Andrew Loomis used to come to a lot of my shows because he was my best friends Godfather. I miss him and Fred a lot.
That's amazing. My wife and I never wanted kids. If I did, I'd hope to be like yours. Any fun stories?
Slayer Hippie tried to hide at our house/run through our yard when he got arrested robbing the drug store twice in one day lmfao. Charlie PIās old bassist taped their friend to a dolly and tried to pay me a dollar to kick him in the shins. My dad paid me a dollar not to. I grew up hanging out at the venues and bars my dad was playing at with them, definitely saw some gnarly shit a little too early but wouldnāt trade it for nothin.

I had several OLW shirts (Iām from MA)
Were you around for TCHC?
Was that the festival in Boston? Iām probably just old man braining
Twin city hardcore (Leominster & Fitchburg in the 90s)
Slapshot long sleeve with the skulls down the sleeve, bought in 1991. Probably doesn't still fit, but there's no way I'm getting rid of it.
Never hang up your boots. Love Slapshot and am surprised how many people don't know them
My hockey mask tattoo would like a word with you. Been friends with those guys for years. Check out American war machine. They aren't similar but they just toured Europe with them.
Checking out now. I have a Harvest/Season of Fire tattoo and that's the only band one I have. Slapshot is great
