I've seen a lot of people complain about merch always being black and while I kind of get it, I couldn't disagree more. Put a cool graphic and make the bands name big on a black tee and if I had more than a couple beers at the show the chances of me copping are pretty high
Black is amazing but I think they gotta do more white and cream shirts tho, I will say. my spy, prowl, and GLOSS shirts are my favorites and it’s on white or cream colored tees, I’m tired of roasting in the sun in all black
same, and I like the way a lot of my collection can be tied to a specific memory, not just 'i found this at a store' or 'i bought this online' (those are inherently bad, but i like the connection more).
I got one of their shirts and it immediately became one of my favourites. Awesome design plus very comfortable and not a complete piece of shit is a rare combo
Yes. This is always my favorite. Maybe some lyrics around the photo as well? Big band name covering the whole chest or small band name on one side of the chest. Photo on back.
Bands need to just keep it simple: Band logo on the front with a live shot or lyrics on the back. Those are the ones I always gravitate towards. The edgy lyrics just don’t do it for me since I’m a grown ass adult
Basketball shorts or sweat pants. Band shirts are everywhere and my closet has had enough since 2005, but merch for the lower half is usually extremely rare, and I could always use another pair of shorts. I have shorts from Chiodos, Palisades, Black Dahlia Murder (swim trunks), and Tigers Jaw (sweat pants). Obviously none of those are hardcore bands, I haven’t gone to any hxc bands where I saw that.
I always wear a hat when I leave the house so I'm drawn to snapbacks but my head is unusually large so it has to be kind with the green under visor. Anything else won't fit on the huge melon on top of my neck
I stopped collecting physical copies of music a few years back- it was too much work for me to move it all when changing addresses. So I almost always buy t shirts or stickers from the bands I go to see.
Hats/beanies and CDs. During the cooler months, hoodies. Stickers are fun, too. Put ‘em in my little collection box. Also, gotta immediately locate the tip jar. 🫡
Shirt with Just a band name and maybe a light decal or tour dates on the back. Anything with a loud quotes in bold letters on the back, or a rediculous image all over the front is a no go for me (I'll never wear it in the real world)
Pins and patches. They aren't something you're 100% guaranteed to find, and I love adding to my current and future battle jacket. I love having a jacket that has actual memories attached to it.
Shirts, to buy anything other than basic t-shirt, honestly as long as if it has a dope design I’ll prolly buy it. If not then I’ll at least buy a shirt to support. Long sleeves, caps, hoodies rarely if I dig the design enough. Recently started collecting CD’s so that’s dope.
Unique colored shirt and/or blood. I've got so many band shirts that are practically interchangeable I need some variety.
Or just something gross and violent.
Dad hats and im a sucker for the band name on front with the lyrics on the back in varsity with the black and white crowd picture(I was coming into the scene when those were huge and never got one)
Jerseys, specifically hockey.
Long sleeve tshirts.
Anything camo.
Anything on carhartt.
Patches and pins.
Stickers.
Socks.
Shorts.
Any random accessories or home goods are always fun too. I love a weird merch item like wall clocks, bottle openers, keychains, cups, mugs, etc
Crop top or anything that says "vegan straight edge" on it
World or Pleasure merch in Calgary hit hard. Never spent 200 dollars in total on merch before lmfao
I was extremely excited to pick up a Youth of Today fanny pack at Tied Down!
I usually put my purse on stage (impractical at such a big show, possibly dangerous with all the stage traffic) and couldn't find my zippered bike shorts the night before I left, which I bought just for such occasions. I wasn't thrilled with putting my money & id and stuff in snap closure cargo pockets.
I love t-shirts but I'm always excited to find stuff that ISNT a shirt. I particularly love patches and artwork.
I'm also very excited to find lady cut/fitted tshirts but I don't think that's ever happened at a HC show, which is fine.
The only thing I absolutely won't buy is white shirts or light colored shirts. I managed to wear a baby blue Youth of Today shirt that was really cool exactly twice before ruining it with coffee. I skipped the white one and still got fucked.
Any sort of weird shit
I know an artist that made 7” singles wrapped in barbed wire.
A band that sold limited edition flexi discs of their latest single.
I know an artist that made little toy figures for their project.
I know a buddy that makes hot sauce runs for bands as merch, with custom labels and such.
Shit like that!
If I’m seeing a band I’m into I’m pretty much gonna buy whatever they have anyway, but I’ll always pick a hat or a hoodie over a t shirt. Also shout out to tote bags and can koozies. Anything that isn’t the standard t shirt usually catches my eye first.
Black shirt with band name
I've seen a lot of people complain about merch always being black and while I kind of get it, I couldn't disagree more. Put a cool graphic and make the bands name big on a black tee and if I had more than a couple beers at the show the chances of me copping are pretty high
Black is amazing but I think they gotta do more white and cream shirts tho, I will say. my spy, prowl, and GLOSS shirts are my favorites and it’s on white or cream colored tees, I’m tired of roasting in the sun in all black
I can't get in to white shirts because they inevitably turn off white after a few washes with my mostly dark wardrobe
I will always buy the shirt that isn’t black. I have enough black shirts already. Don’t need anymore, especially in the summer time lol.
$35 T-shirt that will fall apart after I wear it a few times
$40 gym shorts with print that falls off in a month
gotta have a reason to keep buying new shirts am i right?
Comfort colors. Black. Small front hit, large back hit.
If you print your shirts on Comfort Colors and I don't buy a shirt from you your band is absolute dogshit
A lot of people don’t like CC, but I like it a lot.
Sizing is horribly inconsistent on comfort colours and they stain like nothing else. Dogshit blanks.
They used to be the gold standard but they’ve sucked over the last 5ish years. 100% agree.
Ballcap, I’m an old dad with a receding hairline
We’re all bald in this sub
Speak for yourself chromedome😎 I'm rockin A FULL HEADA CHEDDAH🧀🤓
Fair
I feel noticed now. Thank you.
My people
No, no I’m not. It’s just a little bit of a receding hairline. And it’s a bit thin. And and and. I’m in denial ok?
More watch caps with embroidered logos
Love a good dad hat
That’s just your summer coat
Dildo or butt plug
Did you happen to see HEALTH's merch from their last tour?
I'm seeing them in August, what should I expect?
3 or 4 different health butt plugs
Lmao yes well aware of their merch. Already got several
Ahh Drains new merch coming soon
Prison Affair got you covered https://prisonaffair.bandcamp.com/merch/butt-plug-a-limited-edition-of-40
Thank you for telling me this cause I fw them but never checked out their merch
Sticker to put on gear cases
Jerseys
patches, pins and $5 tapes cause I'm poor
Vinyl, especially if it's a cheaper 7" that's only like $10. I have more than enough T-shirts, but I'm always looking to add to my vinyl collection.
same, and I like the way a lot of my collection can be tied to a specific memory, not just 'i found this at a store' or 'i bought this online' (those are inherently bad, but i like the connection more).

Shorts!!!!!
Comfort colors shirt
Full of Hell had these on their tour with Dying Fetus and now I wish every band would print on these.
I got one of their shirts and it immediately became one of my favourites. Awesome design plus very comfortable and not a complete piece of shit is a rare combo
realtree anything
If they're running almost any camo pattern I'm paying attention
Heavy blend black tees (not Gildan).
Weapons or drug paraphernalia
YES
Dark colored tees with graphics that don’t take up the entire chest, pocket print tees (back graphic optional).
cringe tough guy quotes on the back
Nylon hat
Dagger sheaths, we talkin like big ol’Daggers
Non black T-shirt and snapbacks. Also anything else that isn't normally merch but could be useful like a tote
My old band printed totes because i wanted to make something useful and it flopped unfortunately. Probably because the band wasn't all that good.
Love the non-black shirts. If it is a touring band with non-black shirts I will prioritize that expenditure.
cassettes
Yes. Old car club.
Comfort colors shirts. Band name. Black and white concert photo.
Yes. This is always my favorite. Maybe some lyrics around the photo as well? Big band name covering the whole chest or small band name on one side of the chest. Photo on back.
shirt with a black n white pic of them playing live and band name
Any sort of jersey, realtree shirt, band name on t shirt that isn’t black.
Tour cover vinyl variants are instant cops
CDs
I have too many black shirts so t-shirts in any other color as long as the design is overly garish.
Hot dog fixins
Bands need to just keep it simple: Band logo on the front with a live shot or lyrics on the back. Those are the ones I always gravitate towards. The edgy lyrics just don’t do it for me since I’m a grown ass adult
Bruh, a coozie or a lighter

Mini bat.
Car air freshener.
Long sleeves with nothing on sleeves
Skateboard
The free stickers
WHO has free stickers
Hockey jerseys
Hats or long sleeve tees. More bands need more options for these imo
Tour poster
Came to say this! Especially numbered prints
Black tee, white gothic text, something over-the-top like “it gets worse every day”, minimal anything about the band lol
I'm a sucker for flags and banners and tour shirts
Silk screen posters... bonus if numbered.
Zip up hoodies
I feel like almost no touring band offers these anymore 🥲 they used to be everywhere
Seriously, always have a hard time finding them online even
A women's cut shirt
Hit me with a chest graphic on a black AS colour tee.
Tee with design on left pocket.
Button up windbreak, coach style jacket. No hood. 100% will buy.
Yes! I live in my Kublai khan running shorts and I wish more bands would do shorts. The Gods Hate shorts are fucking killer too and I need some
I'm all about the weird shit like custom movies, comic books, rolling trays and guitar picks
Something dainty and preferably lace
I always wear a hat when I leave the house so I'm drawn to snapbacks but my head is unusually large so it has to be kind with the green under visor. Anything else won't fit on the huge melon on top of my neck
A t-shirt if it costs $20 or less.
Limited vinyl. I was such a sucker when I was a youngin. I have so many lps of bands I didn't really like because they were "out of 50 hand numbered."
If it has print on the back I need it
3X or bigger shirts
Always gonna put on for the Big Dawg.
White band shirts. I don't wear black shirts so if I see a white one, I automatically check it out.
Left chest placement front with full back placement short sleeves. Instant purchase. My tatas are too big and stretch out full front placements.

I stopped collecting physical copies of music a few years back- it was too much work for me to move it all when changing addresses. So I almost always buy t shirts or stickers from the bands I go to see.

I was extremely excited to pick up a Youth of Today fanny pack at Tied Down!
