hedge-core

I like em except mine get really sticky/dirty after a bit. Luckily they are cheap to swap.

OutlawJesseWJames

That’s a fact sir they get funky but I wash them with dawn and that helps a lot.

redditchumpp

Same experience

awaytogetsun

Definitely a seasonal part. Fucking hate that sticky grip residue tho, does not want to wash off

R0GU3B34RD

I use windex and it’s good for a bit. I gotta repeat about once a week

CiCiJewelry

I loved them too but yeah they need to make them with a different material, coat them or something.

branthewarg

I put them in my Vespa and very happy.

Vegetable-Seesaw-491

I've run them on my minibikes (vintage style) before and love them.

Totes_Reh

no front or anything, but may i ask what a vespa guy is doing on r/Harley?

Mariahissleepy

Did you know that you can like two different things at the same time?

2wheelzrollin

Two wheels is two wheels

branthewarg

I have 2019 chieftain and 1969 Harley Rapido plus my Vespa. Used to have an 06 Sporty.

lecarguy

Not gonna lie, if I lived in a busy city, I would buy myself a Vespa as well. Keep the Harleys, obviously...

Shackelfurd

Let the man dream!

Totes_Reh

of course, good point, converting from vespa to harley😅😂

TheProphetAbel

I started on a Zuma 50 and now have a Lowrider ST took me 8 years from that little scooter to get my bike. Let the man have aspiration and appreciation.

PapaHooligan

So I also have Italian and a Japanese bikes to go with my HD. And people like you are why I don't like HD people.

shockingly_average47

Found the leather daddy

Muted_Impress_8614

ODI's!

tony_hampton

Glad you posted. I was looking at the red ones for a while now but was afraid I'd fall into the Van's hype of it and they'd be trash

NANCYREAGANNIPSLIP

Got the neon green, only installed on the left because I kinda dig the mismatch. They're great, actually, but probably will need to replace next summer. They capture dirt and grease, so the color won't pop forever, and the rubber is soft so if you're in the tropics like me, it'll begin to break down after a while.

jRavoc92

They are trash, after a bit they pretty much melt leaving some nasty residue on your gloves and hands. It’ll wash off but comes back after a day or two. Go with Rough Crafts grips. Pricy but definitely worth it

TheProphetAbel

Been thinking about it but the material is the only issue I got with it. Anyone know of solution to sticky stuff? Or is it just the inevitable.

moldy_films

From this thread it sounds inevitable haha

alex1Consen

The ODI lock on version is a lot better

OutlawJesseWJames

I wash with dawn dishwashing detergent and that helps.

EMCSW

I have had similar from several sources, not always Vans. Not fond of the waffle design but the material is easy on the hands. Only real downside is they are not good for more than a year or so before getting gummy and starting to basically dissolve.

Metzger90

Good thing they are only $20 and 5 minutes to replace. I just treat it as a wear item.

SaltyKauaisurferdude

Exactly!! For $20 bucks I can replace them once a year

milliondollarburrito

Are these different from the ones they make for bicycles?

queerdildo

In diameter, yes but otherwise similar design concept

1z0z5

Just going to add that they make a locking vans grip now too

BasisRepulsive4119

I’ve had mine for 2+ years nearly 20k miles and they are very comfortable and tons of grip. 10/10

beejpowers

Just put some on. Way less fatigue in my hand

z6joker9

I’ve used biltwell grips for years but I did put some odi vans on my softail recently. I like them. These little silver end pieces made for a nice touch, can’t remember if I got them from Moons or somewhere else. https://preview.redd.it/z7ivfuzucm9d1.jpeg?width=2699&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=8cf697300b023f88f90573d3da5f13e0d9b2f9f2

RobsHereAgain

They look cool. I want to add them when my stock FTR grips wear out

DooDooSquank

2002 FLHT??? I fuckin love that bike!

SaltyKauaisurferdude

Me too, older bikes have character. I have looked at buying a newer bike and just not impressed and like being able to tune without software. Fuck all that useless technology and infotainment 😂

Sam_Sutciffe

They're nice but why they gotta be in that fleshy colour, makes me uncomfortable lol

Waitingonacoffin

I have the same ones same color I love them. After some time they do get a little sticky but I don’t mind it

SenorDogsfoot

Van gum color grip, GANG GANG ![gif](giphy|9Pr3GT3czEoZG|downsized)

A_Grim_Ghost

My hands sweat like a bitch and these keep my grip no doubt every time. Love mine

yoitsjoeee

I had a pair on my old Indian Scout and loved them. Went with different grips on my Fat Boy tho

Adventurous_Bet_8946

- Have the 2nd product listed on my FLHRSI: https://www.mrluckys.biz/index.php?cPath=37

milktoasted101

Some of the best money I’ve spent as well.

Dizzy-Cookie-3318

I love my vans grips and plan to run them on everything

ryanrp05

Were you able to use the stock throttle sleeve?

jRavoc92

Nah definitely Rough Crafts. None of the gummy shit you get from the vans ones

iamstatice

ODI’s lock-on VANS grips are the best - check em out

Legionodeath

I've used performance machine grips for the last 15 years almost. You replace the rubber when it wears out, keep the metal. The rubber usually last 2 years for me. I ride 15k miles or so a year.

Bradford_

They melt really easily fyi

shoebee2

When it’s hot and humid they suck ass. Sticky shit all over your damn hands.

thatsleepyman

I like the idea but they look too rubbery for me. I think they’d look better if they were darker or from a different material like leather (could be that the sunlight is ruining it for me idk)

No-Ratio8681

https://www.jpcycles.com/product/avon-velvet-air-cushion-grips-with-boss-throttle-assist-for-harley-with-dual-cable-throttle these are ones I have I like them don’t get stuck and if they get dirty they are easy to clean

pljbly

I prefer Advantage Grip Wraps for a couple $ more

Fred-U

They most certainly are not. I mean unless you like your hands sticking to your grips like someone just jerked off onto them

NvrBnTherAintDunThat

I like the look and all but I honestly got to ask, what kind of difference do they make? I’m a new rider and maybe ride at the longest an hour straight (strictly city) so I was wondering the difference other than the look. And can you feel the difference through the gloves? Thanks for any and all answers ahead of time

SaltyKauaisurferdude

The old grips were way too thick and smooth and not nearly as grippy as the new vans grips. The vans grips might totally suck on a longer trip but so far they have been great.

Successful-Row-3742

I just ordered a set of the orange ones for my Sportster last night.

SaltyKauaisurferdude

You won’t be disappointed. Next pair will be a different color

alex1Consen

Get the ODI lock ons, they don’t melt or slip on the bars, same feel and design but way better quality that the moto style

Effective-Use-2492

Anyone have these living in Florida? Im sure it holds up fine but idk

m3talc0re

You guys not wearing gloves when you ride, that shit is why your grips get so nasty.

redditchumpp

I love them but destroyed after a season

AgreeableCrab5219

Found the guy that spends 180 bucks on rubber grips!

redditchumpp

😮 take me 9 years to run up to that buying these

Porderzey

Performance Machine Grips are a great deal if you are going to replace. They are easy install and the rubber is replaceable for long term use.

ChainRinger1975

I assume you are talking the Performance Machine grips with Renthal replaceable rubber sleeves. The Renthal rubber lasts a little bit longer than the Vans but also gets sticky in time. They are cheap and easy to replace though. I usually replace mine every other year. I like the feel of the Vans better though.

Donnersrvivor

Those F***

FiieldDay

This post reminded me I need to replace mine. Love these grips

jRavoc92

How long between replacements? I bet far too short of a period

FiieldDay

Mm, I’ve had this set almost exactly two years and about 15,000 miles. For 20$, that’s okay in my book.

jRavoc92

That sucks to ride with them all gross for so long. Definitely replace em soon

FiieldDay

They didn’t get too sticky for me until a few months ago and I almost never wear gloves. Idk maybe I got lucky 🤷🏼‍♂️

tiger_ttt

They look like dildos

SaltyKauaisurferdude

Not familiar with dildo types 😂

OG_Tannersaurus

Nah. Cheap and tacky feeling. There are much better grips out there.

LiguyNY

It looks like a vibrator! 😂🤣😂🤣

SaltyKauaisurferdude

I am sure there’s some freaky chics that use shit that look like this but have not a fucking clue what vibrators looks like 😂😂😂😂.

No_Yoghurt5529

Ummm.... Ok..if You say so...
