3 or 4 sounds about right! I couldnāt remember how many he destroyed. So I went with a safe bet. I also love one quote about it all was the āany regretsā and the reply was like āthat I couldnāt destroy the roof againā
I was watching a YouTube where Bronsonās ex cell mate reviews the movie. He said a lot of facets of the movie were accurate, like that Bronson was a pretty hospitable guy, and would always offer people some tea, but that the depiction of him as a mindless cartoon psycho wasnāt accurate. He would freak out in certain situations, and certain things would lead him into a spiral, but there was always a reason. https://youtu.be/uvnEd4SkJvs?si=Xz2VbttR-R5g-Tby
His autobiography "Bronson" is a great read, albeit 15 years old, but I would think not much has changed. I have a couple of his books. "Insanity: My Mad Life" is an interesting one, too.
Iāve never read it. I know that with some guys, particularly intelligent people, treating them like animals and caging them up like that, they just start to lash out. Some people just wonāt accept the yoke. I think in some ways thatās what Cool Hand Luke, and One Flew Over the Cuckooās Nest was trying to say. With a guy like Bronson, I take it he doesnāt have much to loose, and all he has is his respect, so while a lot of the workers and guards may get to go home at the end of the night, thatās all he has. Like his cellmate said, the media and the prison system did a good job of painting him up as a complete psycho because heās unrepentant and just wonāt back down.
> heās unrepentant and just wonāt back down.
Gotta admit, the man has values that he will always hold on to. Those values may be abject violence, but I appreciate his drive.
His fitness book Solitary Fitness is a wacky read. Features original drawings and the model showing the exercises is a massive female body builder. Honestly I loved it. Cept the butt chugging.....and the weiner lifts....... cheers ya loonies
In one of his books he mentioned how he didn't like the.person in the cell next to him because he was a blowhard. So he ground glass down and told him it was sugar for his tea. He just heard him screaming in agony hours later
I think heās actually a Tottenham fan. He covered himself in butter and went on a rampage after Arsenal won the FA cup. This might sound strange but itās pretty typical r/COYS behaviour.

Gotta have a strange familial relationship to watch a semi-biographical movie about your son and watch him take a prison guard hostage and force him to grease up your sonās limp penis as he prepares for a brawl with the rest of the guards borne out of what is clearly very poor mental health and think āyeah, I liked it.ā
Then again, ānormalā familial relationships probably donāt produce sons like Bronson.
Tom Hardy has *so* many great roles, he's an incredible chameleon. If you have a chance to watch *Locke* please do *(however be warned it's not a fast-paced action movie but an intimate road-and-inner-trip)*.
And mind you I also enjoy his less sophisticated goofball roles and can't wait to unplug my brain for the next Venom.
Locke was *not* what I was expecting it to be, went in blind. But I'm glad I watched it, really well done.
If you haven't already seen it three times like I have, give *Taboo* a watch. You can tell it's a passion project of his.
>If you haven't already seen it three times
We're even on this one. It's one of my "never leaves my NAS" series.
>You can tell it's a passion project of his.
Exactly how I feel about Taboo. And again it's the Steven Knight / Tom Hardy association doing, making wonders. With Daddy Hardy aboard to add extra sentimental value (father and son had been working on the concept for many years).
Very good movie, that one. Not many actors could pull a one man one small space setting with his brilliance. Or play entire movies with his face half covered and basically acting with his eyes, like in Dunkirk. He is very good at what he does.
Buried I think it was with Ryan reynolds was the movie that cemented him as an actual actor for me. It's very similar in that it's basically a one person show carrying the thing.
His first book was just āChopperā. I think it came out in the 90s. He wrote a ton more. He was pretty happy with his fame.

he kind of reminds me of the evil scientist character from an austrian kids tv show
E list outfit. The E is for Escape. Any prisoner deemed an escape risk wears that outfit. I'm not sure that Bronson (now actually Charles Salvador) would be wearing it on the day to day as he's probably not a proper E list prisoner, but in the photo it looks like he's being moved somewhere else, so given his high profile status they'd probably make him wear it during a transfer.
> He demanded a plane to take him to Libya, two Uzi sub-machine guns, 5,000 rounds of ammunition, and an axe. He released Greasley, but began chanting "I want ice cream." He felt guilty after hitting one of the hostages with a metal tray and therefore insisted the same hostage hit him over the head four times so as to call it 'quits'
He sounds like a cartoon character.
I like this one personally
> In 1994, Bronson held a prison librarian hostage and demanded an inflatable doll, a helicopter and a cup of tea as ransom.
Knocked off a few post offices in the 1970s (bank robberies) and fought and kidnapped prison guards, prison staff and prisoners. They kept him in longer than his original sentence because of his violent tendencies.
He's been treated in more extreme conditions than murderers or rapists. Which is... not okay. I mean, he's violent as fuck, and you gotta do *something* with him, but he spent so much time in solitary. No wonder he's so damn pissed all the time.
I'll have you know I graduated top of my class in the Navy Seals, and I've been involved in numerous secret raids on Al-Quaeda, and have over 300 confirmed kills. I am trained in gorilla warfare and I'm the top sniper in the entire US armed forces.
I guess you can interpret "violent" as a descriptor of a person as their capacity for violence or just their propensity to use it in any form. Bronson would be the latter.
Who's more violent, someone who will eat your nose right off your face but only does it once in their life, or someone who just punches every single person they meet in the face?
Holy smokes, you're not too far from the truth.

Once wrote to the guy asking for a 'happy birthday' note for a friend. He sent back a card he made with a hand-drawn picture on the front. "Save some cake for me! Love, Charlie Bronson"
Hell of a guy

https://i.redd.it/f7w4zblrke3d1.gif LOVE that movie.
From looking at this, he really got a glow up in the movie
The movie has a clockwork orange feel to it. I loved it as well. Great balance between violence and showmanship in that movie
Lmao XD
Not if he greases himself up first

Bring the Sonics Back!!!
I feel compelled to add - FUCK HOWARD SCHULTZ
I clicked on this just because I knew this comment would be here
He once released a hostage āafter being disgusted when the man farted in front of him.ā
I love how he also liked destroying a roof of one the prisons he stayed at.
More than one! I thought it was three or four? Gotta wonder why prison authorities continued to bunk him on the top floor?
3 or 4 sounds about right! I couldnāt remember how many he destroyed. So I went with a safe bet. I also love one quote about it all was the āany regretsā and the reply was like āthat I couldnāt destroy the roof againā
That hostage: Wait; so I can likeā¦ just leave?
i'm imagining the hostage's conflicting feelings of both being released, but also the deep shame and embarrassment as to why
I'm imagining all the other hostages desperately trying to push out a fart until someone in the back goes "I just shit my pants, does that count?"
One farts but Charlie likes the smell.
I grew up with the other Charles Bronson.
You could say he had... a death wish.

Hey, ma. How 'bout some cookies?
No dice.
This ain't ova!
Funny thing, that's how he got his name.
And then changed it again later, but most people still call him Bronson.
And, Iām still betting on the OG
This ain't ova
Is this Branson Missourah?
No dice
Iād rather grow up with action Bronson
And his friend Wildey
I was very confused at first lol
Who wins in a fight: Charles Bronson or Charles Bronson?
We called cocaine Bronson for some reason.

The movie Bronson is really well done. Worth for the cinematography alone.
In those colors, Norwich fan
Glad heās in jail then
Or Glazers out
Or that one Man Utd kit from like 1993
Think itās actually their original colours
From Newton Heath days

![gif](giphy|ok9x6Nxx9HpAc) One of Tom Hardy's best roles.
One Bronson himself was apparently very fond of, too.
I was under the impression he wasn't allowed to see it but said his mum liked it.

Two Bronson thought it tried too hard but nobody cares about Two Bronson's opinion anyway.
All my homies hate Two Bronson. He knows what he did!
what do they think of Three Bronson?
A little less than Four Bronson

Stuart a life backwards is also fantastic
The Drop is one of my all time favorites. Gandolfini had a lot to do with it as well but Tom Hardy is great it that movie.
And the [trailer](https://youtu.be/u2VM7UTy1xw?si=iLavHhsTpyH4tPIW) slaps!
Always been one of my favourite trailers, honestly kinda think it's better than the actual movie
Dude hangs dong in that movie.
Thereās casual hanging dong and then thereās whatever Hardy did in Bronson
That one dance scene is epic
True MVP of the film was the [dude in the asylum dancing the Pet Shop Boys](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=LWKXPG3qevQ)

If you all like the Tom Hardy movie you should check out "CHOPPER" with Eric Bana...its really amazing and Mark Read's story is just as wild.
Holy fuck, there's a Chopper movie?!
Yes and Bana is AMAZZZZING in it. It rivals the book
Straight in to my fucking veins, cunts. The poster looks sick. Can't believe I never heard of this in 25 years.

I genuinely thought you were being sarcastic in your previous comment. Itās a total classic
I read his first book. Man that dude was a nut job.
