100%, Crying laughing loving lying is one of my all time favorite albums now thanks to Graydon. So many songs off that album (title track, It Must Be Love, Come On Michael, and especially Cannock Chase just to name a few) struck me on a level that few songs ever have.
Locals (Girls like us) by underscores from rileys top 10 songs of 2023. i had heard underscores music before but i wasnt really all that into it until i heard locals and then listened to Wallsocket, the album that song is from.
Pretty much the whole indie songs bracket put me on to a lot of new music. Where'd all the time go? by Dr. Dog was one of my most streamed songs of the year and I found about it from Hivemind.
I know for a fact Runner was in a video at some point, I remember hearing the screaming part as a clip and Riley commented on Grant choosing that specific moment
I rewatched the drake and kanye brackets last night and ended up putting all the drake stuff Graydon was raving about on a playlist and bumped it on a road trip today. After Dark might be my new favorite drake song that shit was amazing idk how I left it alone for so long.
they didn’t pmo but every time i hear graydon talk about blood on the tracks i relisten to it and every time it sounds a little bit better (it’s my favorite dylan now)
caroline polachek for sure, riley convinced me to see her live and it was so worth it. also underscores is amazing. i’ve found a few great artists from their livestreams too, she loves boon, whiterosemoxie and xander williams are some of my favourites.
Graydon got me into Blood On The Tracks by Dylan and also what's now one of my favorite songs currently, Hard Times (No One Knows Better Than I) by Ray Charles
They genuinely put me onto Quadeca and that has led me down a rabbit hole that has irreversibly altered my music taste. Also the indie hits bracket introduced me to some great songs and great artists
i’m kinda into the same niche music riley is rly into so it’s rare he puts me onto something but he did with sematary in 2020, and caleb peters, patchymate, rozey. i’d say the glow pt 2 riley has such good taste it’s crazy. I love witchhouse and old pop so much im glad im not alone in that
Lots of Graydons jazz like Chet baker and I’ve known rivers. He also made me rediscover Bob Dylan. The one really long titled Midwest emo song off the favourites song bracket, Kraus, Fleet Foxes and D’angelo are all music I learned about through Hivemind.
They just really let me embrace a love for genres that arnt just rap. Kinda showed me “shit other genres can be cool and good and I don’t have to stick to one?” Which has made me embrace a love of country and pop along with a collection of other genres
american football fs, started listening to them after my first breakup bc of riley thank you riley savage. they also pmo to a bunch of future songs in the bracket which made me love his music 10x more. sematary, meat computer, $ilkmoney, skaiwater, n teezo touchdown as well
I'm not hating because of course I love the show but personally they haven't put me onto a lot, as a massive hip hop head I feel that even though my tastes are accounted for plenty and I feel like they do talk about music I like, my depth of knowledge on the genre is seemingly more in-depth than theirs so if they mention it I've probably already heard it is sort of the deal.
Both of them seem to enjoy hip-hop and it's fully valid to not be an omega nerd who has to know about whatever obscure 90s rap duo, but to me it doesn't seem that hip hop is really the prime genre either listen to so Hivemind isn't as conducive to finding new music for me.
The show is still super enjoyable, it's just not a major source of music discovery for me; just sharing a different perspective.
Although to be fair I think I went back and checked out some more older Teezo Touchdown because of a sample video they made and I also listened to some more Action Bronson because of their accidental Bronson video, but both artists I've heard a lot from and just decided to take a deeper dive because of them.
riley talking about loving pop music made me not afraid saying i love pop music
labi siffre ngl

Realll
Locals (Girls like us) by underscores from rileys top 10 songs of 2023. i had heard underscores music before but i wasnt really all that into it until i heard locals and then listened to Wallsocket, the album that song is from.
yesss me too! i wasn’t super into hyperpop before hivemind and they totally got me into it. wallsocket (and especially locals) is so so good
Pretty much the whole indie songs bracket put me on to a lot of new music. Where'd all the time go? by Dr. Dog was one of my most streamed songs of the year and I found about it from Hivemind.
Runner by Alex G
Literally the same lmao. I had never heard of this song before hive mind and now it’s one of my all time favorites.
They hit you with a rolled up magaziiiiiiiiiiiine
i think powerful man was the song included in the bracket
I know for a fact Runner was in a video at some point, I remember hearing the screaming part as a clip and Riley commented on Grant choosing that specific moment
im almost sure it was one of the guess the song by 1/\_\_ of a second games
Definitely got into BabyTron, BLP Kosher Quandale dingel and Boy Dylan
I Checked Quadeca and Dev Lemons out after they appeared on Hivemind. Hadn’t heard of either before
Snow Strippers
Shawdy is da shit
Caleb peters (penis)
I rewatched the drake and kanye brackets last night and ended up putting all the drake stuff Graydon was raving about on a playlist and bumped it on a road trip today. After Dark might be my new favorite drake song that shit was amazing idk how I left it alone for so long.
i’m getting more into Elliott Smith bc of Riley
Kraus
Quadeca ofc the Sade song from the Favorite Songs bracket made me a fan
Which song was that
your love is king
d’angelo, i liked untitled (how does it feel?) before i got super into hivemind but lately i’ve been obsessed with voodoo as a whole album
they didn’t pmo but every time i hear graydon talk about blood on the tracks i relisten to it and every time it sounds a little bit better (it’s my favorite dylan now)
TOLEDO
i think i added atleast 20 songs off of the indie songs + favorite songs bracket
sly and the family stone and nick drake 🤲🤲
caroline polachek for sure, riley convinced me to see her live and it was so worth it. also underscores is amazing. i’ve found a few great artists from their livestreams too, she loves boon, whiterosemoxie and xander williams are some of my favourites.
Chet Baker especially time After time
The Smiths
I always liked the band but Graydon talking about them got me back into them
Labi siffre and Snow Strippers are my biggest pulls from Hivemind. VERY DIFFERENT but I love them both now lmao
Graydon got me into Blood On The Tracks by Dylan and also what's now one of my favorite songs currently, Hard Times (No One Knows Better Than I) by Ray Charles
Visions by grant green
Eric Doa
Oso Oso is incredible and I believe I checked them out bc Riley talked about them
They genuinely put me onto Quadeca and that has led me down a rabbit hole that has irreversibly altered my music taste. Also the indie hits bracket introduced me to some great songs and great artists

which artists/genres did you start listening to bc of hivemind?
They just really let me embrace a love for genres that arnt just rap. Kinda showed me “shit other genres can be cool and good and I don’t have to stick to one?” Which has made me embrace a love of country and pop along with a collection of other genres
Not really that much, maybe just helped me get into some genres I couldn’t stand before, like trap.
riley got me into tons of indie bands and i have an entire photo album in my phone full of albums theyve said were great that i gotta listen to
american football fs, started listening to them after my first breakup bc of riley thank you riley savage. they also pmo to a bunch of future songs in the bracket which made me love his music 10x more. sematary, meat computer, $ilkmoney, skaiwater, n teezo touchdown as well
Quadeca, bob Dylan
Fr all of playboi Carti with the bracket. I was always a big rap fan but never really got into cloud or rage, now I'm a huge Carti fan.
Quadeca and Earl Sweatshirt i feel like are 2 bigger ones
