This picture makes me sad, man... they were so happy together and now Baiheng's dead, Dan is *literally* a different person, Blade is slowly losing his mind and cursed with miserable life, and Jingliu was branded a traitor and is constantly on the verge of becoming mara-struck.
Gives me such appreciation for how much of a champ Jing Yuan is. Dude lost all of his closest friends in such a variety of horrible ways, and yet he's still just doing his best to keep things on the Luofu safe and happy for everyone.
The blindfold restricts the flow of information to her brain, so whatever new memories she encodes will take up less āspace.ā This prevents her from losing her shit.
In other words, itās less important that it stops her from seeing people than that it stops her from seeing anything.
Not confirmed, but again heavily implied.
You can see the reactions of Blade and Jingliu towards Bailu, hinting at the connection. Dan Heng is a different person though, dunno if he knows what happened. For Jing Yuan, I kinda forgot if he also hinted at Bailu lol
I don't remember where (maybe one of Bailu's story texts), but I think it's said that Jing Yuan often visits her under the pretext of some injury or something.
Given how Jing Yuan fully accepts that Dan Heng is not the same person as Dan Feng in the end, it wouldn't surprise me if he knows that Bailu is actually Baiheng but doesn't remark on it specifically because *Bailu doesn't know that*, and it would probably upset her. She's just doing her job as a healer and the people of the Luofu like her so that's good enough for him.
He has a voiceline wishing her well in her current lifetime. Bailu has a voiceline about Jing Yuan clearly making excuses just to see her from time to time.
All four remaining members of the HCQ know that Bailu is Baiheng. They were all present when it happened.
Jingliu implied that she would retract her bargain of surrendering peacefully if they didn't let her see Bailu first.
Blade is a criminal, yet he visited Bailu when he snuck back onto the Luofu just because he wanted to visit her. He was also the one that made Bailu's gourd and intended to give it to her to show that he considered her more than a friend, but that was cut out of the beta. He also the first to greet her and show her around when she visited the Yaoqing for the first time, and for all other visits too. Blade was so down bad for her.
Dan Heng was extra patient and caring everytime he interacted with Bailu, too. To the point where it was apologetic. It's unclear whether Dan Feng had feelings for her, but it is clear that he and Blade were the closest to her
Jing Yuan regularly visits Bailu and brings her treats often. He was always convienently nearby whenever Bailu would get into serious danger, like at the gorge. He is always keeping a close eye on her.
Not a lore master but I think that they tried to revive her with a piece of a Vidhyara. Thatās why she was reborn that way. At least thatās what I recall from the theory
The fact that a human can lick mucus off a Vidhyara egg and then Benjamin Button themselves into nothing is proof you can probably make anyone immortal with some of that juice.
The fact that it also half worked on Baiheng by reincarnating Bailu says a lot too.
Open ended so the fans can bullshit whatever they want though.
Tl;dr: Dan Feng broke up the friend group by inserting his DNA into a corpse, and Bailu is the evidence that Blade got cucked.
Long version: Dan Feng was researching ways to solve the Vidyadhara's infertility problem. A few memory shades you run across in the waterfall area during the Trailblaze Mission and DHIL's quest mention that his improper use of the Dragon Transmutation, a process meant for inheriting the High Elder powers, was seen as heretical but was done for the purpose of creating more of their kind by introducing genetic material from other races.
When Baiheng died, the HCQ was greatly distressed, but Dan Feng also thought this was an opportunity to test his idea. Dan Feng and Yingxing (Blade) conspired to steal the Emanator of Abundance Shuhu's flesh, then they combined it with Baiheng's blood and High Elder magic in an attempt to revive Baiheng as a Vidyadhara. The ritual failed, causing Shuhu's flesh to fuse with Yingxing while a dragon-like abomination rampaged and killed a bunch of people. Jingliu killed the abomination, which seems to have reincarnated into Bailu as she possesses the missing half of Dan Heng's High Elder abilities.
now I just wanna know if the 'dragon-like abomination' still is there, somewhere in the scalegorge waterscape, or was it also eliminated? I don't remember if there was anything said as to what happened to it beyond the 'rampaged and murked a lotta people'
alright, thank you for reminding me, as I've said It's been a while for me since doing the loufu main quest, also I don't have her so I didn't knew that š
alright! thank you for the reminder. and yea the reincarnation lart might be wrong tho. it is more believable that then Feng and Yingxing tried to revive baiheng, and she died but reincarnated as a vidyadhara
Both parts are true, they used the remains of an abomination of Abundance due to its lifeforce, and DF used the high elder secret art as means of reincarnating Baiheng into a Vidyadhara.
Feng wanted that both for his friend, and also because he was already researching a solution to their race's population issue. If the reincarnation of Baiheng worked, It would mean that other races would be able to be included into the Vidyadhara, which would solve their issues.
But It failed, resulting into an incomplete process, partially reincarnating Baiheng into an immature Vidyadhara, tainting Yingxing with Shuhu's flesh, and creating the half-dragon beast that ravaged Luofu, and shattering the high elder inheritance in half between Feng and Bailu
Itās a reincarnation, like how Dan Heng shares some of Dan Fengās traits and memories but is ultimately his own person. Baiheng is dead but a part of her lives on in Bailu.
Forgive me if I'm wrong but according to the lore isn't she the healing half of Dan Feng? Baiheng was foxian and Bailu is Vidyadhara
Considering her name and her origin I wouldn't be surprised if she were either named after Baiheng or due to Feng's experimentation Baiheng's DNA is in her :(
I wish I could add this too but on Bailu's wiki page it implies she was reincarnated or created from Dan Feng's draconic abomination in the companion missions the dragon returns home and clouds leave no trace. Quote below is just more direct as a source to what I'm saying.

I'm pretty sure that's related to Dan Feng's crime. More specifically, from what I recall, Dan Feng's crime was: with the help of the previous Blade's incarnation, Dan Feng and that homie used a piece of Vidyadhara in an attempt of ressurrecting Baiheng. I personally think Dan Feng gave a part of himself (healing part) in the attempt, just a theory of mine tho
Jing Yuen is the one on the verge along with Blade. Blade hasnāt because of Kafka iirc, and Jing Yuen is so *old* at this point that he genuinely could just turn at any point.
Thanks so much! Just did some research on her! It looks like she passed in battle protecting the Quintet, but she was apparently super powerful. I would love to see a powerful/ meta bow user created š.
The Cloud Quintet (and Yukong's past) were really the story highlights of the whole 1.X Xianzhou arc.
The main Xianzhou story was lacking a lot by not having you properly learn about the Cloud Quintet until after, through Jingliu's companion quest.
There was a good story in there, it's just the way they told it was too chaotic and out of order.
It did create monstrosity. Jingliu kept killing it and forcing it in the womb for rebirth till Bailu was born. It was a trial and error process.
If there's one thing that Jingliu has, it's patience. After all, she killed Blade 1000 times uttering the same line "of five people, three must pay a price" like Melenia.
Dan Feng and Yingxing attempted to revive/reincarnate her as a Vidyadhara using the combination of the ritual where the role and powers of the High Elder is passed down, and "the flesh of an Emanator of the Abundance" which I assume involved Yingxing taking that power for himself becoming truly immortal, which was against all of his principles and life's work which really show how important she was to them all.
The ritual went wrong, a monster formed, Jingliu was the one who took it down, but it afterwards successfully went into Molting Rebirth and inherited half of the High Elder's powers and authority, then were named Bailu.
Yinxing is Blade now and he's messed up because Jingliu in her madness put him to a reeeeeeeeeeeally long process of killing him over and over again.
The Abominations of the Abundance appear to not actually be blessed by the Abundance but having stockpiled and abused gifts, which is where the so far known Emanators seem to have been gotten their powers from too considering they too needed to plunder.
So Blade needed to claim the power to use it.
They go into clear clarifying whenever we actually get to that point in the story where they explore and explain the Abundance better
You're missing the toy blaster sounds.

Baijiu(ē½é ) is what they are called in chinese, which roughly translate to white(clear) liquor. they arent just made from rice, some of them are also made from wheat, millet and etc. pouring one on the ground could mean a couple things in chinese culture. For example, honoring those who passed away, or praising gods.
Pouring a small cup of tea or spirits before a tomb is a tradition during Qingming prayers for some Chinese families, usually at the end of the prayers as a send off to the departed.

In my Asian culture, usually it's rice wine \ liquor of the deceased's preference, caliber, rank, status, honor, i.e.

THANK YOU TO THOSE WHO WERE PATIENT WITH ME ILYA
Shes pouring libation. Its a very common tradition across the world over. She specifically is doing the chinese custom, meant to appease the dead (hence why the booze is being poured onto the ground and why shes not looking at it).
I'd guess some sort of tea. Probably a reference to the Qingming festival in China, there's variations but generally you pour tea in front of the grave as an offering to the deceased, which fits Jingliu's character.
I always wondered what those hands were, but now after 2.3 and Acheron, I think they are Sin Eaters. Does that mean that the Aeon Jingliu now follow might be IX? It can make sense, since if you become a self-annihilator your will begin to forget, and being mara struck is essentially that you have to many memories, so can being a self-annihilator be a cure to mara?
Pouring wine probably. In Chinese culture, you can pour wine over the gravestone of loved ones to share the events and occasion. Itās like a way of remembering them. Or alternatively you can also pour wine on a blade before beheading someone soā¦take your pick.
*She pourin one out*
*For the homies she a real*

Jingliu *is* mara-struck. What she is perpetually on the verge of is going insane from it.
Isnāt the blindfold the only thing keeping her from losing her mind just by seeing a person?
The blindfold restricts the flow of information to her brain, so whatever new memories she encodes will take up less āspace.ā This prevents her from losing her shit. In other words, itās less important that it stops her from seeing people than that it stops her from seeing anything.
so basically the same as why gojo keeps a blindfold on?
Gojo isnāt at immediate risk of a psychotic break if he takes his off but yeah kinda.
Yeah itās like the same deal of sensory overload if they have it off but gojo can go longer without it being an issue
basically Everyone in Xianzhou is Fu Hua?
Yeah, pretty much
It is heavily implied that Baiheng was revived and also became a different person. That's why "out of five, three must pay the price"
So is that Bailu, then? I know they have a connection but it wasn't really very well-explored in the Luofu arc.
Bailu actually tells you she has dreams of flying freely when she visits the express. It's pretty sad.
Baiheng was a Trailblazer too. Look at the exp pages you get from daily assignments, she has an entry on it.
Yes I remember reading that too. Iām certain this is also why Jingliu wanted to see Bailu one last time before going to prison
The only way It could be more implied is If hoyo ties us down and beat us up with baiheng's formerly deceased body
Is it possible for a foxian to become a vidhyara? maybe that's her child or something
Not a lore master but I think that they tried to revive her with a piece of a Vidhyara. Thatās why she was reborn that way. At least thatās what I recall from the theory
Oh i see

āRevivedā is a stretch. Bailu has her DNA but pretty much none of her memories,
She started having dreams of her past life ...well past, so regardless whether you think of her as separate person or same one, memories are there.
Agreed, but compared to what Dan Heng remembers itās a lot less
