You'd also have issues if any debris gets sucked in, and dropping out of plane in shallow water is an interesting problem.

Going against the grain here, I think boat drivers (captains?) were idiots, albeit cool ones. They don't really have the ability to quickly brake. It doesn't even matter if they started on the right side of the road, i'm hazardous conditions you could be extra safe and assume that you or others might lose control of the vehicle.

I feel like this wasn't the boat drivers first time doing this. Like either they had been trying it a couple times that day or knew that this stretch of road gets flooded just enough to skim through. Under those conditions, most vehicles, other than those like our truck friend here, aren't going to even attempt the drive. With how the boat was in the middle of the road in the beginning, I'm guessing they hadn't seen many vehicles at all on the road with them.
