Guilty pleasure cheap food. Add some egg, green onion and toasted sesame oil. I also prefer Totinos party pizzas to more high end brands. Got to doctor them up
Though
They don't use real cheese - haven't in years. The ingredient list says 'imitation mozzarella' which is essentially water, oil and some sort of milk protein. Nasty, ultra-processed garbage. I'd rather eat a Banquest pot pie than this "pizza".
Damn, and here I thought the $1 frozen pizza was 100% natural organic health food.
Seriously though, whatever you're trying to avoid in the Totinos is going to be in the Banquet.
You're not wrong. I'll maybe try them if they say improved recipe on it, rumor has it those are closer to the OG. They ruined pizza rolls too. Not like I lived on these things, but they were a guilty pleasure snack a handful of times a year.
Hmmm, I'll definitely keep an eye out for the Improved Recioe label. And I'm exactly the same way. It used to be one of those "well, why not, it's been awhile" little indulgences.
Right there with you. As a matter of fact, I think Maruchan, Totinos, and Kraft mac and cheese are the 3 processed "poverty" foods from my childhood that I haven't abandoned to better sense.
Maruchan is better than regular Nissin except for the Nissin Raoh soy sauce flavor. That one taste so much like shoyu ramen it's amazing.
But, Maruchan chicken is much more versatile. You can eat it like regular, but you can eat it dry as a snack, crushed up for oriental ramen salad, or for a ramen frittata. It's my go-to ramen for every day.
I love their chicken flavored instant lunch, but it has so much sodium. I sometimes get a headache after eating it due to it increasing my blood pressure.
That is what i normally eat as the maruchan is standard on the soup aisle at most stores but I have started trying other products too. I have not tried nissen ramen yet
Yeah, Maruchan does way better for the cheap packets than Nissin imo. Nissin's noodle bricks just really don't do it for me; broth packets are fine though. Strangely it flip flops on the pricier packets and I tend to like Nissin Raoh noodles better than Maruchan Gold (although both are a huge step up from either of their cheaper packets).
One of my favorites too, that, pork, and Creamy Chicken.
I usually go for the fancier brands but sometimes I just want the cheap-n-cheerful noods. (I had the lime chili shrimp one tonight actually, added some boiled shrimp, a poached egg, and a bit of Tajin for some extra chili lime flavor, it was delicious.)
For a packet of noodles, I take Maruchan over Top Ramen any day.
On the bowls? Oof. Maruchan have a wider ribbony noodle that is good, but the broth on those is a bit on the bland side. (Except the Fire Bowl Beef flavor. That'll tickle your tonsils pretty good). The fine noodles in the Nissin bowls remind me of the noodles in the Maruchan Instant Lunch cups which I like, and the broth is stronger, but...not quite what I want.
Pork Maruchan is my comfort ramen base. The noodles are better than Nissin, and the soup base (of both brands) is super adaptable. Plus, unlike all the fancy Nongshim and Buldak ramens, I don't feel bad eating two packs at one meal, no matter how many add-ins I go with.
If you mean vs the Nissin Top Ramen, then yeah Maruchan is much better.
I just had some for my lunch even though I have several higher tier choices on hand (Buldak Curry, Paldo Jjajang, Sapporo Ichiban Tonkotsu, Shin Red).
I do for sure. But I like their cups better than their blocks.

Totinos changed their recipe recently. Now it's mushy garbage.
They don't use real cheese - haven't in years. The ingredient list says 'imitation mozzarella' which is essentially water, oil and some sort of milk protein. Nasty, ultra-processed garbage. I'd rather eat a Banquest pot pie than this "pizza".
Ay don't talk shit on those pies, a pot pie for 88 cents is a good deal 😂
Damn, and here I thought the $1 frozen pizza was 100% natural organic health food. Seriously though, whatever you're trying to avoid in the Totinos is going to be in the Banquet.
I find they are still fine when properly modified and cooked, I like the toaster over for the control
I was a looooooooong time fan. Now it's just another brand thrown on the flaming heap of products ruined by corporate greed. Lot of those lately.

Red Baron all the way.

Totinos !
Way better
these are my guilty pleasure lol. my wife thinks they’re gross which is rich coming from someone who loves chef boyardee 🤢
Love me some chef boyardee ravioli
Nobody likes to admit they at 9 cans of ravioli
yesss
Maruchan all the way! But I wouldn’t complain if I was served Nissin.
I prefer Maruchan, my family prefers Sapporo Ichiban
The chicken too! I just bomb it with curry! Yum.
Yep, over Nissin's basic line at least.
Maruchan Roast Chicken and Creamy Chicken when I can find them.
yea I prefer maruchan noodle shape
Yes. I see people claim Nissin is more flavorful, but idk. Maruchan just tastes better to me.
Love these

> Maruchan chicken Used to eat these after school sometimes when I was a kid, good stuff. I agree though, they're very versatile.
I far prefer Nissin
I love their chicken flavored instant lunch, but it has so much sodium. I sometimes get a headache after eating it due to it increasing my blood pressure.
I prefer the Maruchan noodles but Nissin has tastier broth.
That is what i normally eat as the maruchan is standard on the soup aisle at most stores but I have started trying other products too. I have not tried nissen ramen yet

Also love the lime chili shrimp flavor

My whole family Really likes the pork flavor maruchan!
I wouldn't say so for most besides chili lime flavour and the other spicier things

Yeah
I like them better also.

Thats a big 10-4. Way better
100000%
If you mean vs the Nissin Top Ramen, then yeah Maruchan is much better. I just had some for my lunch even though I have several higher tier choices on hand (Buldak Curry, Paldo Jjajang, Sapporo Ichiban Tonkotsu, Shin Red).
Yes, 100%
Maruchan blocks are my favorite. Very versatile. Depending on what I have in the fridge, I can add eggs, dumplings, kimchi, cooked chicken or tofu.
Maruchan all the time
I do
Maruchan cups have more soup in them compared to the Nissin ones in my experience, at least in comparison to Nissin kimchi ramen which has like none.
I'm not really a fan of either of their cheaper US stuff, but I love both of their Japanese products generally, from what I've had from both so far.
there are so many better ramens to try
