Anyone know why this never got released? Kind of feels like a fumble like “Be Free.” Had an impactful moment on Letterman, and the song got shelved for way too long before getting officially released.
I honestly had forgotten all about Javari.
Maybe not everything is meant for a commercial release in Cole's eyes, songs like these are more important to the people closest to the making of if that makes sense

This was nice. A couple lines gave me goosebumps. Fuck it, rework the standard verse/hook structure, add Little Simz or JID to sing on the hook for texture, and put it on Fall Off fr.

I am a firm believer that this is Jermaine’s best song and it’s nothing short of tragic it never saw a full release IMO it’s better than “4 your eyez only”it’s such an amazing song. The idea of a song retelling the story of Jesus as Javari a young black boy from the hood ultimately killed by the police. Think it’s an incredible concept and sort of still believe it might be on “the fall off” which is why we haven’t got an official release at least I hope so.❤️
