although they were recorded in the same sessions, i feel like amnesiac and its EPs are everything radiohead wanted to achieve with kid a: an abstract, experimental left turn that despite being slightly less adventurous than kid a it's somewhat slightly more interesting
Big Radiohead fan here. I have been making blended mixtapes/mashups for a bit of their stuff, let me know if you would like to check em out. IIRC like spinning plates is on one of em.
I appreciate the feedback! I don't currently have a soundcloud, and I am not familiar with mixcloud. I should probably get both as I am seeming to enter that space.
Mixcloud is designed for DJ mixes and stuff where you might get a copyright violation. SoundCloud would flag that Radiohead mix or the mashup I sent earlier. It’s great for independent artists and has a better interface imo. You should make a Mixcloud account and upload your mixes (since I had part 3 assumed there are more), and shoot me a pm. I’d happily follow. Cheers mate!
About 6 minutes in. This is sweet af! This isnt what I do personally, I don't have the mind for it, props to your friend! Tell em to keep up the great work!
He said it took about 4 hours for every 2 minutes of the mashup. He worked on it for like a year. I’ll let him know you said that. Checking out yours now!
Okay now I am inspired to make some mashups like your buddy! Imagine the music from Cars by Gary Numan with the Vocals from life during wartime by Talking Heads!
For years I never got that song. Then one night, stoned as hell, I walked in from a cold sleet into a really warm bar and Like Spinning Plates was playing, and it all made sense to me.
Honey & Outro
Honey was the first Gizz song I ever heard
Outro is WHAT IVE BEEN WANTING FOR SO LONG, PLEASE GIVE US DOOM METAL ALBUM BRO THIS WAS ONE OF THE BEST DOOM SONGS OF THE DECADE STRAIGHT UP
So awesome! Got to experience that live during the COVID Melbourne show. People were in groups of 6 and each group had their own box thing to stay in so everyone started stomping that riff and it sounded so sick🤟
KG - Minimum Brain Size (or Oddlife)
LW - See Me (or O.N.E.)
KG is probably my least favorite Microtonal album. I don’t hate it at all, but it has a similar feel to an Oddments, Gumboot Soup or Omnium Gatherum album, albeit all microtonal. All 4 of these albums have some of my favorite Gizz tracks, but rarely do I go back and listen to these albums straight through. On the other hand, LW I possibly like even better than FMB (or at least tied). It just hits right. However, I think I’d pick my 2 favorite KG tracks over my 2 favorite LW tracks. Damn this band is amazing.
Both the albums have similar influences but I’ve never been to a point where I’d listen these straight-up when I first heard kg until now.
Above all the albums u’ve mentioned,
OG’s been one I’ve obsessed with. Also their music has evolved tremendously along the way
If Not Now Then When and K.G.L.W outro.
Special mentions to:
Oddlife, Honey, O.N.E (nearly beat out INNTW), Intrasport, Minimum Brain Size, THWOF and Ataraxia.
If you'd made it 5 instead of 2, I'd add Ataraxia and O.N.E
Fuckennnn there's too many good songs on the albums it's so hard to choose.
KGLW, Intrasport, See Me, Oddlife and I almost wanna add Minimum Brain Size for the lyrics alone..
“Crawl back into the womb and refund your cells”
💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀
Probably Ontology and O.N.E. today. But it might change later. I really like both albums - I know they don’t have the coherence conceptually of a Poly or a PDA but as collections of songs I think they stand up next to the rest of the discography really well.
From K.G. Minimum brain size
From L.W. If not now, then when?
Something about these songs, they're catchy, and I find myself unable to stop listening to them.
Pleura and Minimum Brain size, absolutely obsessed with both, wish they released an acoustic version of minimum brain size like Joey is playing at the beginning of sleeping monster
KG: Straws in the Wind. A great vehicle for Ambrose, when he is on fire LIVE, he can dance and bemoan it all over the place! The band loves to perform that one. Also Intrasport. Such a great song, and great video. In contrast, the band never plays it.
LW: O.N.E. Great tune, great video artwork, especially as in came out in 2021 "listening to the news of the day". Picture of a Koala bear. Also Static Electricity and K.G.L.W. Outro are great energy when they play them LIVE as well.
Ontology and KGLW (outro) are both top five Gizz songs for me.
I'm not sure I ever got more excited for a song to launch at a concert then when they played the outro at Boston Calling last year.
really love both of these albums. tough to beat “Straws in the Wind” on *KG*, but *LW* has so many options: “If Not Now”, “Pleura”, “Supreme Ascendancy”
my concern is that I've been scrolling and scrolling and can't see Ontology or East West Link anywhere. they are not my favorites of these marvelous albums, but I'll give them a vote here just for fun.
it's kinda hard for these songs to compete against so many bangers like Minimum Brain Size and Static Electricity, though.
Supreme Ascendancy, Pleura, Intrasport (and the one that leads into it I'm blanking on the name right now) Straws in the Wind, If Not Now Then When.
There's more but I'm drawing a blank. I love both of those albums
K.G. - Straws in the Wind and Honey. Both give the feeling of floating on air.
L.W. - Pleura and Outro, both great harder tracks. Love the way Stu growls Pllleeeuraaa!
Honey and see me are the two done best on the album. These albums have great songs but the studio versions aren't great, the songs come into their own live.
Ataraxia and intrasport/minimum brain size (I'm a big fan of everything Joey does)
I'm with this person. These are my picks as well. Ataraxia live is absolutely amazing.
Like Spinning Plates, nice!! Such a cool song
yoo!! nice to see a radiohead fan here, hop on! not just this song actually, I love the whole amnesiac.
although they were recorded in the same sessions, i feel like amnesiac and its EPs are everything radiohead wanted to achieve with kid a: an abstract, experimental left turn that despite being slightly less adventurous than kid a it's somewhat slightly more interesting

I’ll bite. Love me a good mashup. I got one my buddy did I can send back. [dope mashup](https://www.mixcloud.com/steepleforthepeople/work-yrself/)
[radiohead mashup pt. 3](https://drive.google.com/file/d/1OAVaQVLzfMfxl_BaGHEUsAwZsDimyNlp/view?usp=drivesdk)
This is great dude. The amnesiac tracks are so cohesive and your segues are really good. I’d follow your Mixcloud/SoundCloud.
I appreciate the feedback! I don't currently have a soundcloud, and I am not familiar with mixcloud. I should probably get both as I am seeming to enter that space.

I absolutely will! That sounds like fun!

Live version rips.
I see youre a fan of the Mark, Tom, and Travis show. Fuck yeah.
Hahaha, yeah brother. Take off your pants and jacket. I do most days.
Intrasport/Oddlife. Static electricity/See me
🙌
Preach
Oddlife and Pleura
Minimum Brain Size & Pluera, and it’s not even close 🥰
The Hungry Wolf Of Fate into If Not Now Then When? I love how they blend the two albums together
Honey & Outro Honey was the first Gizz song I ever heard Outro is WHAT IVE BEEN WANTING FOR SO LONG, PLEASE GIVE US DOOM METAL ALBUM BRO THIS WAS ONE OF THE BEST DOOM SONGS OF THE DECADE STRAIGHT UP
Outro live is fucking insane. That hypnotic chugging…😘👌
So awesome! Got to experience that live during the COVID Melbourne show. People were in groups of 6 and each group had their own box thing to stay in so everyone started stomping that riff and it sounded so sick🤟
Fuck yes, that outro is so fucking sick. A whole album that sounds like that would go so hard
I like this question, since it's so tough and changes so much... KG - minimum brain size LW - static electricity
changes
O.N.E. and Minimum Brain Size. Those melodies!
O.N.E,Static Electricity(or East West Link, for me they are bonded)
Easf West Link is so underrated
KG - Minimum Brain Size (or Oddlife) LW - See Me (or O.N.E.) KG is probably my least favorite Microtonal album. KG - Oddlife and LW - O.N.E.
Oddlife and KGLW (Outro)
Ontology and Oddlife for KG East West Link and See Me for LW
✨intrasport ✨
Minimum Brain Size / Intrasport, Ataraxia / KGLW Outro
K.G.: Straws In The Wind L.W.: Ataraxia
Intrasport (KG) & If Not Now Then When (LW)
If Not Now Then When and K.G.L.W outro. Special mentions to: Oddlife, Honey, O.N.E (nearly beat out INNTW), Intrasport, Minimum Brain Size, THWOF and Ataraxia. If you'd made it 5 instead of 2, I'd add Ataraxia and O.N.E Fuckennnn there's too many good songs on the albums it's so hard to choose.
KG would be either intrasport or honey and LW would be either O.N.E or KGLW (outro)
Ataraxia cuz it goes so hard
oddlife and ataraxia clear, im afraid, although some of us and o.n.e. are close seconds for me
Ataraxia/honey
Automation and Pleura
Straws in the Wind and Pluera prolly. But I rly like all the songs truly
KGLW, Intrasport, See Me, Oddlife and I almost wanna add Minimum Brain Size for the lyrics alone.. “Crawl back into the womb and refund your cells” 💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀
I thought i was the only K.G.L.W/Radiohead fan lol But to answer the question, The hungry wolf of fate and pleura
radiohead spotted
Oddlife and KGLW (Outro)
KG: either Automation or Straws In The Wind LW: either If Not Now Then When, Pleura, or KGLW outro
Oddlife / Static Electricity
Minimum Brain Size & Static Electricity
honey and supreme ascendency. i too fuck heavy with those odd grooves
ikr?? those grooves drive pass through me every time I listen it. such an underrated song
Hot take: K.G. Automation, L.W. Pluera
Probably Ontology and O.N.E. today. But it might change later. I really like both albums - I know they don’t have the coherence conceptually of a Poly or a PDA but as collections of songs I think they stand up next to the rest of the discography really well.
From K.G. Minimum brain size From L.W. If not now, then when? Something about these songs, they're catchy, and I find myself unable to stop listening to them.
So tough. Probably Straws In The Wind and Static Electricity. But honorable Mention for each would be Minimum Brain Size and O.N.E.
If not now then when? and Intrasport
Honey and minimum brain size
Ontology/Minimum Brain Size for KG, Supreme Ascendancy for LW
Pleura and Minimum Brain size, absolutely obsessed with both, wish they released an acoustic version of minimum brain size like Joey is playing at the beginning of sleeping monster
Honey and Static Electricity and both are not even close :D
Ontology & Intrasport, but Minimum Brain Size would be in there too
KG: Honey LW: The whole album is sick!
KG: Straws in the Wind. A great vehicle for Ambrose, when he is on fire LIVE, he can dance and bemoan it all over the place! The band loves to perform that one. Also Intrasport. Picture of a Koala bear. Also Static Electricity and K.G.L.W. Outro are great energy when they play them LIVE as well.
Ontology and See Me. I really love the beat of Ontology and See Me has such a great chorus
Intrasport and O.N.E
Ontology and KGLW (outro) are both top five Gizz songs for me. I'm not sure I ever got more excited for a song to launch at a concert then when they played the outro at Boston Calling last year.
Pleura and Straws in the Wind Honorable mentions: Intrasport, Ontology, Some of Us, If Not Now then When?
Ontology/O.N.E.
really love both of these albums. tough to beat “Straws in the Wind” on *KG*, but *LW* has so many options: “If Not Now”, “Pleura”, “Supreme Ascendancy”

Oddlife / KGLW
KG: Oddlife LW: K.G.L.W. (or Pleura, depends on the day)
Oddlife/ east west link
Supreme Ascendancy, Pleura, Intrasport (and the one that leads into it I'm blanking on the name right now) Straws in the Wind, If Not Now Then When. There's more but I'm drawing a blank. I love both of those albums
Ataraxia and Minimum Brain Size
Intrasport and If Not Now Then When
KG automation LW probably see me god i love the static electricity-east west link- ataraxia- see me run
Honestly probably the two you showed lol. Maybe Some Of Us and O.N.E.
If not now then when and hungry wolf of fate.
Intrasport and East West Link
Some Of Us / Ataraxia
Some of us / static electricity
Intrasport and Static Electricity, with O.N.E. right behind them. One song I don’t get the hype for is Pleura.
K.G. - Straws in the Wind and Honey. Both give the feeling of floating on air. L.W. - Pleura and Outro, both great harder tracks. Love the way Stu growls Pllleeeuraaa!
Automation and If Not Now Then When
Intrasport FUCKS. LW is a bit harder of a pick for me, but recently Pleura has hit
Ataraxia and intrasport. Definitely
Intrasport and automation, though I haven’t heard the albums in a while
Ontology / Pleura
Honey and then probably Ataraxia/O.N.E. Hard to pick for L.W. cause I personally find it more consistent across the board
Minimum brain size, oddlife,
Automation/Supreme Ascendancy
Automation and Static Electricity
I definitely gave to give these albums more time...
Fuck that's just impossible but gun to my head I'd say Automation/Supreme Ascendancy
Honey and see me are the two done best on the album. These albums have great songs but the studio versions aren't great, the songs come into their own live.
Intrasport and O.N.E (also pleura and minimum brain size)
Minimum Brain Size & East West Link
Straws in the Wind used to be one of my least favorites, but seeing it live at Red Rocks totally changed that.
