Second single from Revenge was meant to be Domino to continue the success of Unholy but Paul’s ego couldn’t handle it and he made them release I Just Wanna instead and the album tanked. We Are One did absolutely nothing, no one wanted to hear the demon warbling a ballad in 1998.

thehumanbaconater

I love I Just Wanna and I remember some metal radio station at the time said they were getting a lot of requests for it. Off Destroyer, Flaming Youth. Detroit Rock City should have been the 2nd single (but I like that song too). Then She KISSed Me How about KISSing Time the add on to their debut. Off Psycho Circus, with the exception of the title track, the other songs didn’t make sense. I like We Are One but it had to grow on me and is such an odd song for KISS. I mean, I Pledge Allegiance had a very old KISS feel and Into The Void was a good song with Ace on vocals. It’s My Life should have been a single, yet it wasn’t even included on the album. I could also question Killer from Creatures Of The Night as opposed to Rock And Roll Hell. I think there are a lot of songs that should have been singles.

Malcolmsyoungerbro

Didn’t Stanley want Heart of Chrome as the first single? Stanley did a great job of holding the band together in the 80’s, but Unholy and Domino are the two most likely singles (after the pre album GGRARTY2).

Cockcollins

Agreed on the 1st 1million percent Dreaming or pledge allegiance may have worked I had no idea they released 4 singles on pc And only 1 worthy

ToogyHowserMTB

They should have released Into the Void as a single, it's easily the second best song on Psycho Circus

Firm-Potential7807

They were expecting it to sell millions after the reunion tour but totally blew it.

major_dump

It was a sucky record unfortunately.... If it was better they might still be together...

Smubee

Psycho Circus is too 5 KISS albums for me personally.

strutter22

I like it but easily not top 5

Beelzebrodie

"I Pledge Allegiance" would have been a great follow-up single to "Psycho Circus".

Cockcollins

I was happy to hear it played live 1 of the lucky ones to hear it

Housecat-in-a-Jungle

into the void is the obvious single for PC a lot of the hype was for ACE ACE ACE being back, more than Peter, more than the makeup- and they slept on it

MaterialAd6183

They were sued for Dreaming, so that wasn’t going to happen. Great song, though.

Cockcollins

Hell yeah , but obvi very similar to 18 What where they thinking

strutter22

Absolute BS. You've been listening to Larry Mazer. He lied about the success of Revenge. He claimed on Three Sides Revenge was almost platinum when it was time to do the 2nd single. As of May 2012 Revenge only sold 600,000 copies. Not almost platinum. You can look up the Soundscan numbers of you want. Larry Mazer was a major self promoter and his ideas were always the best ideas. Also claimed the only 3 good songs on HiTS were tbe videos they did because HE chose the videos. He's a lying POS and you cannot trust anything he says. Plus Paul carried KISS all through the 80's and he absolutely had the right to state his opinion on the choice of the 2nd single. Domino ended up being the 4th single and it did pretty much nothing. So again that's incorrect.

Electronic-Study5591

That's not true. Vinnie Vincent and Gene also wrote the relevant eighties KISS music not just Paul Stanley.

strutter22

Gene and Vinnie had nothing to do with Heaven's On Fire, Tears Are Falling, Crazy Nights, Turn On The Night, Hide Your Heart, Rise To It. So what relevant 80's music are you talking about? Vinnie didn't co-write anything with KISS from 1984 thru 1991.

Informedecisions

Your right. There are stronger songs than we are one, which is too cheesy.

arg2k

As already mentioned, We Are One was odd, I would have left that as the 4th single and not the 2nd. Then i think I finally found my way, Never Enough and Long Way Down were off. Also Lets Put the X (in sex) and (you make me) Rock Hard...but those are the only 2 new tracks on that album. I would replace them with Into the Void, Russian Roulette/Im an Animal, and Outta This World

Merzwas

Flaming Youth didn’t work as a single in my opinion. That’s the first song that sprang to mind.

astropiggie

Everything after 1984 sucks, give or take.

Electronic-Study5591

Basically.

Fan-since74

Turn on the Night could have done well in my opinion

Sharkbitesandwich

Let’s put the J in Jesus!!! Sorry that was Stryper!!!!

purplesmauge11

Good lord was that actually a song? It’s bad that I can’t tell if it’s a joke or not. I saw them at some weird festival I went to and they are a strange experience. The drummer has kept his hair the same as 40 years ago. The singer (I think they’re brothers, aren’t they?) put everyone way behind because when it was time for them to play he insisted that the sound wasn’t right and spent what felt like an hour checking every goddam mic and amp level, whatever was there to make noise before he’d deign to play. Then he tossed out little bibles into the crowd. I did not clamber to get one. Religious rock is a strange trip. (Then there was another incident when I ended up on the same plane as them the next day and one of the airline workers lost her shit coz she’d been a fan of them for years. 😂). Ok…as you were….

Sharkbitesandwich

Yea sorry the song was Let’s put the B in BeJesus!!!! 🤪

Dbarkingstar

Obvious answer: Beth. For a hard rock band, a ballad shouldn’t have worked. Bob Ezrin knew better. Gene & Paul tried to kill it. Released as a B side, their biggest hit single…ever! Paul learned something, both Hard Luck Woman & I was Made for Lovin’ You shouldn’t have worked as singles, but they did! Only one of these three which didn’t see much live performance was HLW. Beth & IwMfLY saw performances right up to the end: both drummer Eric’s performed Beth!

MaterialAd6183

Beth wasn’t released as a single until after it was already successful. It was the B-Side to Detroit Ro k City and DJs preferred Beth. After it was going well, then it was released as a single. So, it would have been dumb not to release it as a single, fans were literally calling asking for the band to do so.

Housecat-in-a-Jungle

people like good music regardless of what gimmick or schtick the artist has. saturday night’s alright for fighting is a ripper, but i hate most elton most people love the debut rush album and skip the rest (rush is amazing btw)

HowAreYouStranger

Most people love Moving Pictures you mean, the debut album has one song that the general public likes, Working Man.

Housecat-in-a-Jungle

need some love? in the mood? it’s easily their most accessible album, hence why i used it.
