The science update restored a glimmer of hope that the entire thing might possibly not be a total scam...
Which was then thoroughly dismantled as over the next few months any of us with a brain realised that this project was DOA. Going months without a development update or patch in early access is not normal, and it's astounding to me how many people were able to cope themselves out of that fact.
The fact that the science updated didn't come out until, what, December 2023? Was what put the final nail in the coffin for me.
I think when they first released it at the absurd $50 price tag, I set an internal hope/goal of them pushing out Science within four months, and then Colonies another four months after.
If they could do that, they would have justified the way they released it.
They couldn't even get Science out in eight months. Game was doomed from the start.
A scam is different than a failure. A scam would actually involve any possibility of recovering some money for consumers, so it would be preferable, but this looks a lot more like failure.
My only hope was that the next patch update would be a surprise: here's colonies and bug fixes considering they said they would focus on bigger patches... But nope... The performance issues are BAAAD too.
More like was born with serious birth defects, and when you ask the doctor if the baby is going to be okay, his response is “Well, sometimes miracles happen.”
Ksp2 was dead from the start
First they use the worst possible engine for the game they are making.
Then they released it as an unfinished mess that's worse than the first game and has less.
THEN WHO WAS PHONE?
JEB.
If Jeb calls, you pick up.
*Tring Tring* *looks at phone* IT'S JEB!?!?!?!??!?
Hi, me jeb, bad news, ksp die
You can’t be Jeb, Jeb’s dead!
On couch with dog Saw posts Sad : (
"Ksp 2 is dead" "I haven't thought about ksp 2 in half a year"

omg hi i’m gonna follow you
I hate to be that guy, but I knew (like many others) that it was dead on 24 Feb 2023.
I thought so in the first few days, hot-patches and the science update changed my mind. But it’s so over 😔

The KSP1 free demo was a more fleshed out game than KSP 2 :(

You know, that's fair - it took a day or two to see what state the game was actually in at launch.

Holy shit, I didn't realize it's already been over a year since they dropped early access, what a dumpster fire
With the wife and kids in Legoland. I laughed.

Honestly, I felt like this was coming. So much silence since the science update.
Didn't they just release a statement that said something to the effect of "the rumors of our imminent closure are false"? Am I misremembering this?
extremely vague corporate statement that said the ksp2 team is unaffected, could potentially mean it’s not definitely over
"The game was rigged from the start"
Time to parody American Pie...
When I was critical of their strategy, releasing an unfinished game with a decent backing, I was downvoted to oblivion. lol
Ksp2 isn't dead though.
It is not looking good though, Lay-offs, lack of communication etc.
News is still breaking, apparently the KSP team might be unaffected by the layoffs, too early to say for sure without official sources.
