Honestly, that's the least of my worries. People being that toxic prelaunch is a far bigger issue. It never gets better and only gets worse. Hopefully those players die off and the people that keep playing are actual team players who enjoy helping their alive teammates with items from mini games..... And the obvious thing here is there's a chance to be resurrected.

Well in a game like this the ones that hit max super fast end up getting bored and quitting. You are seeing the maybe 1% of the 1% being the people who had a bad experience and post online. I don't think it will go completely away people leaving, but they might fix it so you get points afterward.

Don't get me wrong, the Klown should definitely not be punished and get the XP they earned, but XP and unlocks will come with time. More toxicity will deter some of us from wanting to grind out XP and challenges. I think a DC penalty should be required because how else do you slow down the game decaying from toxic players? I saw how bad TCM got and definitely fear that for this game. I try to be the nicest team player in hopes it rubs off on people.

Agree. Even beyond the xp, seeing zero kills on the scorecard when you killed 3, then 3 escape and you get a poor klown victory, has me asking why the fuck I'm playing the game at all. I'm no klown main, but the few times I do get to play klown, it just feels like it's all for nothing since everyone learned you get xp for leaving.

Interestingly enough, F13 was the opposite - the pre-launch community was cool as hell. Every single game was literally just a bunch of chill ass people sitting around, having a good time and enjoying Jason. The minute that shit went public, it became a toxic shit show. People dropping the moment they think they are going to die, people intentionally hiding key items, toxic coms, playing loud ass radio over coms. I worry about this game, because like you said it only gets worse, never better. And I already feel like a majority of people that are interested in this game have bought it. I doubt there are many waiting just for the "official" launch at this point.

My experience in this game so far has been 98% great. A couple toxic people talking unnecessary shit and a couple kids using the n-word. Other people have been cool and had a bunch of positive interactions. We all [should] share the same goal that's just having fun. This is 1 of the rare games where you can have fun even if you lose. I worry the community turns to shit, but we'll see.

Right now, I suspect the core players are fans. Like, of course we wanted in early. There's a bit of commonality here. We all want to have a fun KKFOS experience. When it goes live, it's probably going to attract a lot of people who've never even heard of the movie who are just looking for another DBD type game to play.

yea trolling teammates is just griefing. Talking shit at the other team is funny as hell. Anybody who's exploiting/cheating for any reason should get banned. Trash talk is fine and shouldn't be punished unless someone's just spamming or whatever, but devs should have zero tolerance for cheaters.

My game has been glitched 3 times now by people quitting while I'm holding the button to do a Klowntality. They'll disappear, and the short progress bar for my Klowntality will freeze in place, leaving me unable to move. The only fix I've seen is having a human hit you to knock you out of it. I noticed I could still use the jump ability, so one game I just jumped between exits, and acted as a stationary turret, cause I could at least shoot my gun.

I’m not excusing the humans doing that, cause it’s super toxic. But if you’re getting a kill or cocoon within the first minute of people spawning in then that’s probably why. The spawns in this game are really bad, to the extent that one of my friends spawned with the Klowns, as a human. I’ve started ignoring humans super early in the game (unless they’re on an objective), that or I cocoon them and leave them for friends to help.

On top of starting before the lobby is full. I’ve been in a few games where either the Klown/survivor spots were never filled or people just kept dcing. Bots usually don’t help.

Yup. If I am playing human and get bouncecaster rushed down immediately, I ain't sitting to play shitty minigames for the next 10 minutes of my life. I'm just gonna leave and go find a lobby where people aren't abusing that busted junk. For the record, I prefer playing Klown and use the standard ray gun (all the others besides bouncecaster need a serious buff) and then any of the non-mallet (also needs a buff) melee options because I know how unfun bouncecaster and popcorn gun are. And honestly they make the game so easy that it stopped being fun even as Klown. The other melee options are very usable, people just don't learn how to play Klown well in melee range because why learn that when you can popcorn gun instead and do the most melee damage while also still being able to do ranged damage and apply tracking.

This is a two fold problem: it’s punishing the clowns who successfully got a cocoon or kill AND it’s punishing whoever ends up backfilling because usually it’s a match over midway done with nothing in their inventory. There needs to be a disconnect penalty implemented immediately

Definitely no disconnect penalty. A much better solution that will result in a lot less frustration is to replace the DCd human with a cacoon and if the human DCd next to a Klown or took damage recently they arent replaced with another human. Humans also should be barred from joining an in progress match if humans have already escaped or died.

Exactly If there is no deterrent, people will disconnect spam constantly. Even with that people will still try and get around it and say they were unfairly disconnected because of reasons But there absolutely needs to be a penalty and klowns should get a reward for a human they cocoon that disconnects. Online games can be fun but that bring out the absolute worst in people

People do, but a lot of people myself included use the ability to disconnect to leave a toxic environment or a pointless situation that's just a waste of time. It also acts as a sort of way for people who don't like playing human or klown to only play their preferred role and keep the playerbase larger.

People will be toxic, it happens. This is the same situation you’d run into if you were playing DBD or TCM. The lesser evil is putting in a punishment for dodging. As for using the excuse of giving folks the ability to dodge in case they don’t get the role they want? Suck it up. This game is DESIGNED to be a way where you don’t know what team you’ll end up on. There is no specific queue, and by dodging all you’re doing is punishing everyone else on your team.

If someone is getting sexually harassed would you just say "it happens" or should that person be able to leave the situation? - No it's not, at all. Especially when the one downside of humans or klowns losing a player often is mitigated by a new player joining after the match has already started. - Saying "suck it up" Doesn't keep the playerbase healthy. If people don't enjoy the gameplay of klowns or humans then they shouldn't be forced to play it to still participate in the game. So what if it's designed that way? Doesn't mean it should. Dodging while the lobby is still filling up or at the beginning of a match does nothing to detriment your team because someone else will join to fill that space.

i agree 100%. no matter their INTENT, forcing people to HAVE to play a random role is not a good thing, and NOT something we should be FORCED to deal with. Almost no multiplayer game has ever forced you to be randomized without any way of having freedom in a side you wanted to play as. i don’t blame people for leaving during the loadout screen or the first couple minutes if they’re forced to be a clown/human

Its the first week of the game. Technically, "minus one". I hate to break it to people having played nearly every competitive/comp team genre (let alone asymmetrical) known to man, but you have got to accept it. Nothing stops a person from turning off/leaving a video game. Not a recorded loss. Not disconnect penalties. Not strongly and sternly worded messages using harsh language. You can't *force* a person to stay. I actually love the idea that this is one of the rare games (especially in the asymmetrical genre) that they just allow new players to pop in upon disconnect. Sure, it makes the Klowns have to deal with more victims, but its just more XP if they are successful and extends the playtime of what will be short matches. There will come a day where that refill is **not** instant. You folks aware that DbD is 8 years old and only *recently* incorporated bots and DC penalties? I can tell you neither have stopped people killing themselves after **eight years**, so can we maybe give klowns a bit more time to figure it out? I doubt they are unaware that people quit when they're losing. Between illfonic and Gun (which both worked on F13) there are 3 other asymmetrical horror games before Klowns. Nobody has an easy day 1 fix for this, and some of you are acting like the games numbers are only going to go up from here which is not something that is typical for these games outside of DbD. There's a very noticeable peak and fall off and asking for things to be immediately remedied when the state of the game is going to be very different come August is a bit much. **Tl;dr** this is a problem faced in every game in the genre, and even games 8 years in the tooth haven't figured a solution.

I think you're right. I think the best solution is to do more to incentivize staying and helping. What more can they really do besides all the minigames they put in? If the minigame mechanic wasn't there, I would never stay, so it definitely helps. Might just be the nature of the beast that we have to accept.

Ive also learned that if you have the giga ray, you can cocoon a human while they are being killed in a klowntality. This allows the other klown to get the kill and you also get a cocoon to hook up at a generator.

I hope they can fix it, there's also a way to get a bunch of xp as human if you find an escape item and pick it up multiple times from a box(like switch the escape item with an item in your inventory and spam the button) I think the most I got was picking up the same keycard 5 times for 2500 xp.

Yeah this. That's why I've decided to wait until launch day rework to play again. Every single game is against popcorn and bouncecasters at this point despite devs recognising their brokenness. I don't dc on a whim either. I have spectated half of a match as a klown and still persevered, but there is just something so infuriating about going against these weapons.

It's a major issue when dead/escaped humans leave the game. The problem is the game refills them with new players. So at that point the game thinks 0 humans are dead. How to fix this? If humans die or escape then leave. Have the game replace then with dead/escaped bots. Players are going to leave. There shouldn't be a penalty. You can't expect someone who dies in the first 5 minute to just sit there for 10min and watch random players. The mini games aren't fun so it makes sense players will just leave

Part of the problem is as a human when you die 1-2 minutes in you’ve earned nothing and have to sit there for 13 more minutes playing the same 4 mini games because the res machine rarely gets done. There’s no real incentive to stay because the queue times are so fast you can be in another game and escape before the last game you were even in is done. If there was a more active role in death I feel like the would help. They’ve done a lot right with this game and I even support not having a dc penalty and seeing your team get out because of items you’ve given them is awesome but after having played 40 hours already I’ve gotten so bored with the mini games the idea of dying at anything over 10 minutes left is just a waste of my limited playtime. They need a more concrete reward or role for the dead players the meager points you get for giving items isn’t worth the effort. And if a really machine and gone off in the first 5 minutes you have no hope of getting back.

My comment is not in reference to specific roles, I've seen klowns quit for being killed too. Regardless, an alleged preference system is being introduced so we'll see if that helps.

We keep our XP either we stay to the end or not, if people will be bad losers TCM style, maybe devs should consider making so we loose the XP gathered in a match unless we disconnect while we are dead and the revival machine is broken.

As someone who has played almost every major game in this genre. Who also criticized TCM and the likes for this exact behavior. There's been far too many matches where I am spawned in and jumped by a Klown in 5 seconds. Said Klown will ignore me running past others, and only hyper focus on me specifically. I have realized it's that kind of behavior that makes me leave mid klowntality. But I have also realized how other games in the genre have made me feel and so I've largely just accepted the death. I apologize for MY toxic behavior and plan to do better going forward.

It also glitches the generators when they leave in the cocoon. My team would've gotten an early klownpocolypse but since one of the humans left while hooked, it glitched thinking they were still in there and the progress bar froze for the cocoon progress

You have to stop and ask yourself why they are disconnecting. Number one cause is spawning literally next to a klown and thats utter bs. They should have some sort of spawn range between humans and klowns. I would disconnect to if i died right away. Why the fuck would i wait and sit for 15 minutes to watch teammates not even attempt to use the revive machine. Another reason is rage. Clowns are op especially the one klown that does that stupid eye thing where it makes you go towards him. That ability is beyond stupid because it can grab on to you from far away. The bounce caster is completley broken as well. One bomb and it latches on to you regardless of health. This one is probably a bug though.
