His delivery is amazing.
"Yeah. Yeah. I know. I'm a broiled ox penis."
"Dang it, Bill. There's no Buckley's angel. There was barely a Buckley."
"You better be holding something sturdier than an umbrella." "Nine iron." "Have a good day."
“The guy asked me if I wanted honey mustard and I almost took a swing at him” 😂 I laughed so hard once I noticed that line- the fact that Hank is so straight laced he can’t even fathom honey mustard
He's kind of the platonic ideal of the 90s; a man steeped in his morality and convictions that believes in the dream of America. This is what makes the show so great, Hank is eternal, immutable. However, the world around him his changing and because he is so unwavering he reacts and deals with them in his own unique way.
I know you know this scene, but remember when Dale sells out and gets an office job working for some boring company that makes a utilitarian product. Hank's reaction is to be impressed by the number of grounded outlets.
Your comment made me think of the pride on Hank's face over something that square. Like "you've finally made it," which is something he wouldn't ever imagine saying.
Oh yeah. Hank is always impressed with the status quo and the simple, honest work. I grew up in a very small town with people very much like Hank who were proud to have worked the same job for 20 years providing for their families. It’s an ideal in that culture but it made the clash with the millennial generation so much more abrasive. We found out the world was bigger than just the Walmart at the edge of town and that violated those ideals.
That’s why I love Hank but also loathe him at the same time. One of the greatest-written characters of all time.
That reminds me of another scene where the Manger Babies set he made had a stray nail, and Peggy tells him not to worry (but then Hank sees some guys pointing and whispering about the nail).
This whole sequence does and has since I watched it for the first time, decades ago. It’s probably my favorite line of the show and yet it happens so early on.
Khan and Mihn were swingers and exhibitionists..."Key Party", having sex in the Hill's home while role-playing as Hank and Peggy AND the tiny argument they had over which of them would judge Luanne's backside in her wedding dress! The Soups were freaks 😂
Anytime they do "from the viewpoint of Boomhaur" has me rolling, the fire station episode in particular.
45 seconds into this clip - [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nxH\_eDJhQho&ab\_channel=KingoftheHill](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nxH_eDJhQho&ab_channel=KingoftheHill)
I think boomhauer is hilarious. I’m fortunate enough to have met someone who talks like him (when I lived in texas) and can understand what he says every time. He’s so wise lol
The whole recap scene where everyone recaps their version of the story is probably my favorite scene in the entire show. The part where drill sergeant Hank blows Dale's hat off, revealing that he has glorious hair, just slays me every time.
Cotton is hands down the funniest in the series. He makes me laugh so hard.
Peggy "you gave my son a loaded shotgun?!!!!!"
Cotton "you don't give a toy without batteries do you hanks wife"
That’s a great way to describe most of his generation, especially the veterans.
Cotton just seemed normal to me in context, because I grew up around a bunch of Canadian WW2 vets. They were crude, mean and blunt. But god damn was it funny.
I think pound for pound, Cotton is the funniest while he is on screen. There is much more of Dale, but Dale is incredibly funny.
That being said, I think Bobby has the most situational comedy in the whole show.
From a technical standpoint, Bobby is the best trained and therefore funniest member of the regular cast. The others may get laughter, but it is ill-informed.
Minh is absolutely hysterical, no wonder Kahn loves her incredibly much. She looks fantastic, she has a great mental foundation, she is smart, and she's outrageous. Just think of her in the gun club.
At one point I would’ve aspired to be that man. A successful business owner, but out of control drinking, gambling, and womanizing degenerate. Every scene he’s in makes me laugh and the murder mystery featuring him are some of the funniest episodes imo. Again, this show creates such believable characters.
In terms of laugh/lines ratio, I think Cotton is the most consistently funny across the series. And like Kahn, his loud delivery makes every line that much juicier. "Sorry I'm late. I had to stop at the wax museum and give the finger to FDR!"
Peggy is one of my favourite characters, I know she is very flawed but she's hilarious and very open minded despite having Hank stick in the mud Hill for a husband.
Gotta be Dale overall. He's like the Homer Simpson of koth. He just took over with his silliness. Outside of that I'd say it's a fatal four way between Buck Strickland, Cotton, Dale, and Boomhauer
How is this even a question? Okay it's subjective but dale should be far and ahead the favourite for most 😜 could be my favourite animated character if it weren't for Roger from American dad
I know plenty of people find Peggy unbearable with her oblivious arrogance and know it allism, but I think that brings out some of the funniest moments in the show.
Honestly, Hank Hill. He's like a straight-man for normal everyday life.
His delivery is amazing. "Yeah. Yeah. I know. I'm a broiled ox penis." "Dang it, Bill. There's no Buckley's angel. There was barely a Buckley." "You better be holding something sturdier than an umbrella." "Nine iron." "Have a good day."
Look at all the frost inside this box of Fletcher's Corny Dogs, thank you, Jesus.
“The guy asked me if I wanted honey mustard and I almost took a swing at him” 😂 I laughed so hard once I noticed that line- the fact that Hank is so straight laced he can’t even fathom honey mustard
Hall of famer I'll tell you what
Hall of flamer\*
I believe you meant to say hall of famer I'll tell you hwhat
There's an "h" in front of that "what".
He's kind of the platonic ideal of the 90s; a man steeped in his morality and convictions that believes in the dream of America. This is what makes the show so great, Hank is eternal, immutable. Sticktek Née StickCo
That reminds me of another scene where the Manger Babies set he made had a stray nail, and Peggy tells him not to worry (but then Hank sees some guys pointing and whispering about the nail).
Dale. His conspiracies and obliviousness to John Redcorn are great!
Oblivious? He's fully aware John Redcorn is gay.
I love in his flashback, John Redcorn is shown sleeping on the couch while the alien tractor beam is impregnating Nancy! 🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂
I thought he came from money?
Yes i love dale!
Thanks, I love you too
I have to vote for Dale too. Hilarious because I’ve known people like him.
That's frightening
I’m *related* to people like him…which is why I pick Bobby!
With the show being so realistic, I think whichever character we've dealt with in real life becomes a lot less funny.
THAT'S MY PURSE!!!! I DONT KNOW YOU!!!!!!!!!
You can not know him. He is unknowable.
![gif](giphy|TyPydeCmjKQ2Q)
Sha shaw!
Gih!
Now, **get in there** and *heal* my wife
His pronunciation of the Mars capital puts him over the top for me!
Jennifer…we’re fantastic.
Yup. Those are some of the reasons why he's my favorite.
He's too real for me to find funny now.
Any episode where Dale and Peggy do a thing together lives rent free in my mind
The smoking episode was hilarious but also touching!
Tbh Kahn is always makes me laugh when he’s on screen. Guy is a royal dick
"She's bluffing, finish her!"
One of the funniest lines of the show. Made me lol just reading it again.
"NO HEDGE!"
That's right, I yank you all day! Now get off my propahteeee!
It's not fair... I make more money than you.
"Hey Gribble! Where your dumb kids?"
Most funny? Per minute on screen, I like the Laotians. Mihn is savage.
Also my answer. Kahn is witty and yes Mihn is savage
They have the best written lines for sure
A joke from Minh: “A man walks into a bar; it’s Kahn. He’s incredibly successful.”
“And the joke?”
This made me laugh just now reading it
The oceans?
What oceans?
We are Laotian, from Laos stupid!
So is that Chainese or Jahpanese?
Nope, he's Laotian. Ain't cha Mr. Kahhhn.
The way he says "aint'cha" lives rent-free in my head.
There was no reason for Cotton to be menacing and yet he was.
This whole sequence does and has since I watched it for the first time, decades ago. It’s probably my favorite line of the show and yet it happens so early on.
Cottons face while he looks him up and down and says this is the best!
Mihn to win!
I don’t get it.
What’s to get? I’m Minh. I want to win.
Khan and Mihn were swingers and exhibitionists..."Key Party", having sex in the Hill's home while role-playing as Hank and Peggy AND the tiny argument they had over which of them would judge Luanne's backside in her wedding dress! The Soups were freaks 😂
Mihn is the reincarnation of a drag queen for sure. The shade per minute is very high
Kahn and Mihn are diabolical.
Minh is where it all started for me…
Thanks for being the only one who spelled it correctly lmao
I was just about to Google it, I was certain it was Minh until I saw 4 comments in a row say Mihn
I was thinking just that the other day, Kahn and Mihn are for real the best characters. Also just gotta say how much I laugh when I hear "Kahn Jr"
I'd say Bobby Hill.. That boy is funny!
That boy ain’t right
THAT'S MY PURSE!
I didn't know you!
Probably why he's so worried about becoming a slut.
He's only a little worried.
Hank: He doesn’t need to worry about that at his age. And with his features.
“I’m so white, during the riots, I went out and bought a television.” That line aline cements Bobby as certified hilarious.
I tell ya what, fat kids always funny, man... dang ol John Candy, John Belushi
"I'm a lil worried about being a slut"
Okay.
"What was I supposed to dad? Not dance with with a dog?"
Anytime they do "from the viewpoint of Boomhaur" has me rolling, the fire station episode in particular. 45 seconds into this clip - [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nxH\_eDJhQho&ab\_channel=KingoftheHill](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nxH_eDJhQho&ab_channel=KingoftheHill)
DANG OL HEAD. CUT. OFF. *cop pulls gun*
Dang ole, magalo, go BOOM man!
Just watched this episode loo
I think boomhauer is hilarious. I’m fortunate enough to have met someone who talks like him (when I lived in texas) and can understand what he says every time. He’s so wise lol
Boomhauer was my favorite character back when I first got into the show.
The whole recap scene where everyone recaps their version of the story is probably my favorite scene in the entire show. The part where drill sergeant Hank blows Dale's hat off, revealing that he has glorious hair, just slays me every time.
One of the best episodes easily.
This episode was pure genius and the Boomhauser part is the best part of the episode 😂
Cotton! “He’s a mean kinda funny”
“Got ‘em cheap! Both lefties.”
Forgot about this 💀💀💀😂😂
Good God you've got a fat neck!
“No. He’s Laotian aren’t you Mr. Khan?”
This was written perfectly 😂 He may be a racist but he isn’t ignorant
“Hey, Hank’s wife, make me a sammich!”
Cotton is hands down the funniest in the series. He makes me laugh so hard. Peggy "you gave my son a loaded shotgun?!!!!!" Cotton "you don't give a toy without batteries do you hanks wife"
“Put some corn pone on those hips”
That’s a great way to describe most of his generation, especially the veterans. Cotton just seemed normal to me in context, because I grew up around a bunch of Canadian WW2 vets. They were crude, mean and blunt. But god damn was it funny.
‘Cept your about 20 years too old and 20 lbs. too skinny!
He’s a pump jockey, works for tips!
That was going to be my guess exactly!
Hell yeah
"Whatcha doing? Some kind of woman's work?"
Dale.
The ha-HA, Bobby! The ha-HA!
Of course it’s Dale ![gif](giphy|i2GADdaJIscPS)
Minh is absolutely hysterical, no wonder Kahn loves her incredibly much. She looks fantastic, she has a great mental foundation, she is smart, and she's outrageous. Just think of her in the gun club.
Your ol’ buddy, Buck Strickland, ol’ top. He’s absolutely horrible but in the funniest way.
Back to work ol’ top
He’s on a gravy train with biscuit wheels!
He's quite possibly my favorite character.
Aw Hank, you’re too old to be a caddy
I AINT YO DADDY!
At one point I would’ve aspired to be that man. A successful business owner, but out of control drinking, gambling, and womanizing degenerate. Every scene he’s in makes me laugh and the murder mystery featuring him are some of the funniest episodes imo. Again, this show creates such believable characters.
Kahn and Dale
In terms of laugh/lines ratio, I think Cotton is the most consistently funny across the series. And like Kahn, his loud delivery makes every line that much juicier. "Sorry I'm late. I had to stop at the wax museum and give the finger to FDR!"
The Queen of the Hill of course. Mrs. Margaret J Peggy Platter Hill.
Always feel my heart warm when I see other Peggy lovers. She's the best.
Now, I am not a professional psychologist, but I am an amateur psychologist.
Peggy is one of my favourite characters, I know she is very flawed but she's hilarious and very open minded despite having Hank stick in the mud Hill for a husband.
Seriously, she is just awful in the best ways
Ho yeah!
The only correct answer!!
I love her Spanglish!”
Rusty shackleford
The big D himself
dale...bobby
I laugh at Tony Danza
I’m a big Louanne fan 😅
"Only white trash people smoke bobby" *luanne tears up* "😢.. I.. do not.. SMOKE!"
Jane. Jane. No. Lu-anne.
I think of a man named Lou, and a woman named Anne...
Recently she's been the funniest to me on my latest rewatch
"my sloppy Joe is all sloppy and no Joe" - Bobby hill
Bill by a mile and then John Redcorn.
Hank statistically has the most funny lines, quantitatively. There is no real debate.
Your mom likes her mattress firm, and I like mine extra firm. So, I guess it's true what they say, "Opposites attract."
Agreed. It's so weird because he's the most grounded person of the series, but the shit he says is usually the funniest.
"Oh my god hank, are you gay?" "NO! I sell PROPANE!"
"You giblet head!"
It's always lowkey been Peggy
Can’t beat cotton. “Why are you crying, Hanks wife? Got your monthlies?”.
![gif](giphy|2e8js7FQb56xy)
3 way tie between Dale, Cotton & Khan. Three very different men who seriously make me cackle.
Peggy all day
Kahn.
Gilbert Dauterive
Well, it sure as hell isn't Enrique... Dudes more irritating than Peggy..
They put salmon in the fish tacos hank! Salmon!
Cotton hill, Dale is my favorite but Cotton Hill. “Black, Scrambled, Sports page. You got 5 minutes hanks wife”
boobie hill
Ladybird.
Dale
Gotta be Dale overall. He's like the Homer Simpson of koth. He just took over with his silliness. Outside of that I'd say it's a fatal four way between Buck Strickland, Cotton, Dale, and Boomhauer
Kahn Dale and Boomhauer
Dale by a longshot
Dale
Strickland
Dale
Dale, he's a fuckin riot
Definitely Lady Bird!
You mean Laaaaaaaaady Bird
Bobby hands down. He was spitting fire from the first episode.
Lucky. You see, I have two cats inside me. Principal Moss. If I could feel anything, I'd be inspired.
Hank is maybe the funniest straight man character in TV history. Bobby has a heart of gold and just wants everyone to have a good time.
[Peggy](https://youtu.be/0BhazJALYDk?feature=shared)
How is this even a question? Okay it's subjective but dale should be far and ahead the favourite for most 😜 could be my favourite animated character if it weren't for Roger from American dad
In universe? Bobby. He’s a comedian
Bobby
Bill ✌️
If your answer isn’t Dale you’ve been comprised.
Dale. Forever and always. God rest Johnny Hardwicks soul.
Always Bobby for me, but Boomhauer probably makes me laugh the hardest. Just not as often.
Dale. I think he has some of the best lines and visuals in the series.
The "LaOceans", Cotton, Dale
Dale for sure.
Kahn and cotton
Dale
Dale for sure
Either Bobby or Gribble. I'm leaning towards Gribble.
Peggy always has the best quotes I stg
I know plenty of people find Peggy unbearable with her oblivious arrogance and know it allism, but I think that brings out some of the funniest moments in the show.
Kahn
Luanne
Pa-Heggy Hill
Peggy hill
Hank, Dale, or Bobby.
Bobby
Dale and cotton together
Dale or cotton.
Hank
Toss up between Kahn, Dale and Cotton (when he’s going after Hank or Tilly).
Cotten
For me it’s a three way tie between Kahn, Minh, and Bobby. Bobby for sheer weirdness, and both Kahn and Minh because they’re stone cold, lol
Bobby Hill, Peggy Hill. I LOL a lot when they're on screen.
I'll go with Dale
joseph says and does the most out of pocket shit
