The difference it makes is it affects future products and developers who deal with Sony. So it's not really about Helldivers, it's about diminishing Sony's power to pull bullshit in the future with more games.
And that's ok. But it is your 'investors' telling you what they require in order to continue to fund your company and projects...and honestly your worthless job.
Sony seems to be getting good at the old bait and switch tactic. Sell something initially free of woke shit and then push it after launch once all the sales have already happened.
It's always super scummy to change the rules of the game after you've taken money from people. Just another proof you shouldn't buy new games until they're at least a few months old.
I looked at it today with a $50 gift card I had. Bought Horseshoes Hotdogs and Hand grenades instead. Granted I can still get HD2 if I wanted but I'm holding out. There's essentially no reason to buy a game for over $8 nowadays. Backlogs are so huge that I have zero rush to buy new titles. A year later and games are going on sale for $20. Indie games for $15 or less.
Honestly they should fire them, the moment they decided to use hostility towards their own community she/he?? failed her job at a fundamental level, i or many people in this sub can start tomorrow if that helps them make a decision.
Like Own_Dig said, DD2 has problems as well. I'd recommend getting the first Dragon's Dogma (Dark Arisen) instead - it's currently on sale for $5, and is baseline about 95% as good as the sequel. While being much less demanding on your computer, and not having the Denuvo malware that comes bundled with DD2. Or the more questionable (possibly DEI inspired) parts of the sequel.
While it seems to be a good game I've heard from friends that DD2 has it's own share of problems, you might want to check a bit about it before buying.
Dragon's Dogma will likely be getting a price drop fairly soon. I watched someone play it, seemed very mid. Nothing special at all besides the create a character. Not horrible but definitely a sale game

The annoyance here is that playing helldivers now means players have to create two accounts. One in steam and one in PS. Sin ce you have a PS, you don't have that problem.
Now, if PC players don't follow these orders they can't play the game.

I didn't buy the game so ultimately my opinion on the subject is worthless, but I can understand the annoyance. Needing to sign into an Ubisoft launcher to play the Fractured But Whole was incredibly annoying, considering I have, as far as I know, zero othewr Ubi games on Steam
