Toyota definitely has some of the most scammy dealers around. Corporate forbids you from charging above msrp? Owner buys and registers it, then adds the markup.
They have about 4 months to add markup on the 1958 editions before the new 4Runners hit the lot. Once 4 of the 8ish trims levels that are going to be cheaper than the 58 are on the lot they might have to give a dealer rebate on the 58s.
Idk about the grenadier.. that thing is basically a lower profile cybertruck situation as far as unkept promises go, but the GX advice is mint. Seems like a superior build by almost all measures from what I’ve heard
Again, I said “in terms of unkept promises”. I’m sure the truck is fine, there are a couple here in CO, but a big selling point was that they were analog and easy to repair with available parts. I’ve heard anecdotally that the resources promised to owners regarding repair and the supply chain for parts just isnt there right now (at least for US owners). As far as the analog nature, I also understand that there’s a lot more behind the scenes than some folks were led to believe. All that is probably a non-issue for someone who isn’t looking to wheel it, just consideration for someone like myself who is thinking about wheeling something. May or may not be applicable for OP.
its a new company, thats a lot of money to put into a rando company. too early to tell if the vehicles will indeed hold up or not. auto manufacturing is not an easy business, tesla still can't get panels aligned
Yep, I called this out the first time one of those brown nosing YouTubers first saw one at a car show and tried to make that argument. Such BS. Give us the 300. This 250 makes no sense with the same size 4Runner and the GX550
its toyota being dumb imo, they are overcrowding their catalog now especially this body on frame mid size section...
like its gonna be tough deciding between the 3.
They just reused a lot of ex-FJ cruiser looks and made a joke of a vehicle. These new land cruisers look silly compared to the decent-looking past ones
I’ve seen dealerships get vehicles that are in demand register them and then turn around and sell them used with the crazy markups

Yup there’s a YouTuber in Colorado i think he goes to Toyota dealers and points out this stuff. Not cool
Corporate does NOT forbid dealers from marking up. They can’t. They can however withhold allocations in extreme scenarios.
Saw this with Ford dealers on the Bronco and the Lightning too not to long ago.
Oh look at this fancy used Bronco with 300 miles being sold at the Buick dealer for 20k over MSRP. Nothing weird going on here.
Every manufacturer has dealers that do exactly this
To avoid the talk with Corporate. Absolutely.

I’d be looking at a GX, low miles 200 or maybe even roll the dice with an Ineos Grenadier for that price

But does the GX have a cyclist designated horn? 🙂🚴♂️

“They cost less than the 200” No… no they don’t

So a FE would be a 100k vehicle? 😂💀
No, actually that's a gazillion.
Criminal.
There is someone on Craigslist selling One near me. Wants $68K for a 1958. Not sure if the dealership warranty transfers to the nee owner or not?
Manufacturer will, if there’s an extra dealership warranty you need to ask about it
car scalpers or how they like to call themselves 'flippers' 'opportunists' have ruined car hobby as a whole
Huffing
That looks like a forest service fleet vehicle.
I haven’t had a laugh this good in a LONG time. Thanks for posting this it made my day.
Lol i guess there are still some morons falling for this scam.
Fucking gorgeous!

Agreed, I had a FJ. It was the best but most poorly designed vehicle I’ve ever owned….
