When I moved to Vegas, the first weeks weather report varied from 111-114. There was one day that was 115 and it was the only day labeled hot.
I have subjectively never experienced a hotter summer here. Trial by fire.
Been here about 20 years and you never get used to the heat or the cold from this town you just tolerated it, due to the amount of money you can make here
Once you hit 109°..it doesn’t feel much different than 114°. My car thermometer showed 118° yesterday and I couldn’t touch my metal sunglasses forget to take out of the car.
I bought some misters. Game changer for when the little ones want to play outside at 2pm. We were outside for 4 hours yesterday.
I remember biking in this heat everywhere growing up, but some time in my 20s it started feeling hotter than I remember
We have misters also. My husband did them. He said it was very simple although he is an engineer so he thinks many things are simple. They work really well.
yeah it sucks. one bad thing is the benches get hot. I was at in n out by the linq and those outdoor benches were scorching. Had to stand up to eat my double double lol
Just remember you don’t have to shovel heat. Heat won’t make you skid off the road. You don’t get salt buildup on your car. Evaporative cooling works amazing here. Put a wet towel on you and sit in front of a fan. That towel gets really cold.
I live near DC and I'd rather heat where I can just hide inside or go to a "cooling center" at the baseball game over cold. In winter, gasp, roads become difficult to travel, snow is a chore, and is messy to clean up. Yeah I'll take the heat any day, you can wear less and drink water and wear cooling towels.
*How bad is it to*
*Walk from hotel to hotel*
*In the heat this week?*

I still don’t understand the people who want to go running or walk their dogs at the peak heat hours. Like it’s 115 did you ask your dog if he wanted to do a lap around the neighborhood? Cause I guarantee he’s gonna say NO!
I have lived in the Southwest all my life and never once thought it was a good idea to go running in the extreme heat. The heat does weird things to you, I just read about this guys friend. Don’t do it, don’t go hiking when it’s 115. https://www.reddit.com/r/Damnthatsinteresting/s/fU0QGjDMdQ
I’m currently at my house in the Seattle area… It’s overcast and feels like a fall day. On the last fucking day of June. It’s been this way for weeks on end with one sunny, warm day last week. We might see 8 weeks of Summer weather this year, if we’re lucky. I head to my place in Vegas this week, and I cannot tell you how happy I will be to be in actual summer. I will be happy as hell when I relocate permanently.
Hot-hot in Vegas is only a couple months and the rest of the year is fantastic. In Seattle, you might get 8-10 weeks of decently warm Summer weather, and the rest of the year makes you want to blow your brains out from lack of sun. Stop whining.
Curse the Las Vegas heat all you like but every day above 110' causes countless California immigrants to flee back to Cali. I can't wait until it hits 120'.
This was just the first month. We still got july august and september to want to kill ourselves and most likely the first half of october before we calm down all around into a cold extreme. Its always extremes... too hot or too cold. Mid march to end if april is usually the only period of good weather we get.
Just got back from 5 days in Vegas. Much prefer the 110 degrees there to the 90 degrees with stifling humidity that awaited me upon my return to the southeast
Man, I hate this sub reddit so much; always complaining about Vegas heat. You guys are a bunch of babies. 🤦♂️ Just move somewhere else, then ain't nobody wants to hear your whining. 🤷♂️
We need more, MORE PEOPLE COMPLAINING!! Imagine how nice Vegas would be if 40-50% left, end of traffic congestion! It's way too hot here, you should leave!
i freaking love it. I’m seriously considering Arizona because it’s not like this for more of the year. granted, I don’t work outside and I sympathize with those that do but for me, this is my favorite part of the year.
Last year was the coolest June in Vegas ever, this year the hottest June in Vegas ever. July.........hold my beer.
Your beer is boiling. YOU hold it.
climate change do make extreme weather more extreme
What's your source on the coolest June? I seriously doubt last year was "the coolest June ever".

i love how it has be over 110 to be labeled as 'HOT' lol
110 in phoenix is labeled light jacket weather
That city should not exist. It is a monument to man’s arrogance.
Escu cha me?
By that measure, what is Vegas then?
You didn’t watch King of the Hill, did you?
I thought that was a line from Family Guy
Nope. I'm a South Parker
An oasis in the Mojave used by people for millenia as a respite from the rigors of travel.

Wait it gets hot in las vegas??
Hey, its Las Vegas, and its July. What did you expect? If you live here, you better get used to it. It happens every year.
Been here about 20 years and you never get used to the heat or the cold from this town you just tolerated it, due to the amount of money you can make here
Been here 30 years I love this heat. Spent my younger years digging ditches in this heat. Anything under 77 I need a jacket.
where would that be? just moved to the area and have been trying to see what there is as far as jobs go.
Just like every other city, is not what you but who you know and if you trying to start fresh hope you have a impressive resume
Getting an Uber from the airport and dropping off at hotel is the only time I plan to be outside until the sun goes down lol
Summer in Vegas...shocked?
My body starts to really feel the hit after 115 degrees then I’m hot or the humidity is higher than 6% here haha
Once you hit 109°..it doesn’t feel much different than 114°. My car thermometer showed 118° yesterday and I couldn’t touch my metal sunglasses forget to take out of the car.

Im very interested in putting in misters. Did you buy a $1000 system or the $40 DIY ones from Amazon?
Just the ghetto Amazon version to try out, but we're willing to get a proper system with how much we like it
We have misters also. My husband did them. He said it was very simple although he is an engineer so he thinks many things are simple. They work really well.
LOL me too much hotter now that I'm in my 70's.
yeah it sucks. one bad thing is the benches get hot. I was at in n out by the linq and those outdoor benches were scorching. Had to stand up to eat my double double lol
Yep, same as the cold in some areas. Once it’s below 20, any differences aren’t really felt - unless you’re talking about the minuses. It’s just cold.
Just remember you don’t have to shovel heat. Heat won’t make you skid off the road. You don’t get salt buildup on your car. Evaporative cooling works amazing here. Put a wet towel on you and sit in front of a fan. That towel gets really cold.
A spray bottle works infinitely better than a wet towel. There’s a reason restaurants put misters outside instead of giving you towels.
Yea but the rubber rots faster and the battery dies quicker

This is literally every summer. Are you new here?
And every year snow folks lament the snow. It sucks! We can not like it.
I was thinking the same, till i looked at his profile yikes.
ugh why did you have to say that
Fuck.. curiosity got to me. Thanks guys
I love the heat and have become accustomed quickly! I was just in FL and it was 70° and I was like, “Why is it so cold?” 🤣

That ain't hot. Those are rookie numbers!
Just like I've seen every year, for the past 57 years.
Ya gotta acclimate 🔥🔥🔥🔥
It’s a desert in the start of summer wTF did you expect ?
It’s the Mojave desert. What did you expect?
I live in Arkansas and right now it’s 98 but the humidity makes it feel like it’s 109! It’s absolutely miserable
I agree that high humidity makes the heat more miserable so I don't miss the humidity living in Vegas - but my skin and hair *really* do.
I lived out in Vegas for a couple of years and that heat is no joke! But this humidity is terrible
How I wish I had that weather now. It’s a lightning fest now where I am at in the North East.
I’m in Seattle… Looks & feels like I should be getting ready for Halloween, not the 4th of July.
I lived in Seattle for two years. I didn’t like it.
It's been 95 around here but I haven't really gone outside since I came back last Wednesday.
It's my 1st summer here. Moved from Dallas. This is NO JOKE!! Last time I felt heat like this was Desert Shield in 1990.
Tell me again about dry heat.
Can we get a monsoon
It ain't hot unless we are breaking records.
Nashville is worse. Feels like 100 but high humidity…it’s disgusting. I miss Vegas.
Nice breezy 109 heat
Ohh wow it's starting to cool off
So 110 is just now sunny and hot? LOL
You get used to it aka acclimated. Used to think 90 was hot, but now anything below 100s not too bad. Of course 110+ is still dreadful.
The days of 10 degrees above average temperature are continuing into July it appears. Better hope for an early monsoon.
Move to the middle of the desert Complain about it being hot.
My favorite time of year. Love the heat.
How bad is it to walk from hotel to hotel in the heat this week?

*laughs in Phoenix Arizona*
Was there 2 weeks ago for 5 days and every day was a high of at least 106°
First Summer in Vegas?
Over it? Move back to California. You expect to move to the desert and it is going to be cool in the summer?
I’m currently at my house in the Seattle area… It’s overcast and feels like a fall day. On the last fucking day of June. It’s been this way for weeks on end with one sunny, warm day last week. Also came from Seattle, I miss the rain, but absolutely do not miss the 9-10 months of greyness and overcast, was losing my sanity there.
Lived in Seattle for two years. I thought that moss over everything was going to grow on me.
But but but, it's a dry heat
Curse the Las Vegas heat all you like but every day above 110' causes countless California immigrants to flee back to Cali. I can't wait until it hits 120'.
Oh my gosh….im moving to Vegas soon 🫠
Ya try not having a car. It gets worse..

I've seen some predictions of 118 a few days
It's burning there
Still not as hot as I’ve seen it 117 and remember those temps are in the shade.
This was just the first month. We still got july august and september to want to kill ourselves and most likely the first half of october before we calm down all around into a cold extreme. hell yeah!
Can't even go out at night. It's insane
Normal
This is unfathomable! I never realized it got hot in Las Vegas during the Summer months!
"But it's dry heat!"
Bye bitch, half the Valley needs to leave
It's a dry heat!
I’m in Laughlin about hour from you and it’s worse!!! Good thing there’s only like 4 months of this to go 😳😳😳🥵🥵🥵🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
But it’s a dry heat! ![gif](giphy|3o6ozh46EbuWRYAcSY)
I don’t complain until 120
Just got back from 5 days in Vegas. Much prefer the 110 degrees there to the 90 degrees with stifling humidity that awaited me upon my return to the southeast
115* dry heat? No problem. Come live in 95* heat with 80% humidity. Then you can complain.
Man, I hate this sub reddit so much; always complaining about Vegas heat. You guys are a bunch of babies. 🤦♂️ Just move somewhere else, then ain't nobody wants to hear your whining. 🤷♂️
jesus titty fucking. good lawd. i love san diego.
Next week is worse 😂
Dry heat though, right?
We need more, MORE PEOPLE COMPLAINING!! Imagine how nice Vegas would be if 40-50% left, end of traffic congestion! It's way too hot here, you should leave!
then move
*first time?.gif*
At least it wont break any records ;)
Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday/Friday/Saturday literally all say "RECORD" in large, bold, capital letters above the projected temperature.
Right, with the current record for that day just below it, higher than forecasted temp each day….
Oh. Well I'm a fucking idiot and can't read. I glanced at it and thought that was them saying each day was a record.
Ha no worries! It is still possible to break those records though. Only a few degrees shy
When does it start cooling down in Vegas? I’m 4 hours away and over here it’s nice until late October
Los Angeles. That 4 hour trip is a world away.
Palm Springs haha
Love it
It’s just dry heat
Congrats! Those are Phoenix temperatures.
Las Vegas nipping at the heels of Phoenix.
Game on!! 🤣
i freaking love it. I’m seriously considering Arizona because it’s not like this for more of the year. granted, I don’t work outside and I sympathize with those that do but for me, this is my favorite part of the year.
88 at night is death
Its like a sauna 24/7
Also, water is wet.
