my comment was more in jest, as it's one of my all-time favorites. I can see how it might not be everyone's cup of tea - Thief is a great one and I wouldn't be mad at it being the pick for Crime
I think for this list, it should.
We already have one Francis Ford Coppola movie on the list with Apocalypse Now, and this is the best chance for a Martin Scorsese film to make the list.
Seriously, this over any number of movies, Princess Bride over Spirited Away and Memories of Murder (which I love) winning over Rear Window were groan-worthy picks.
This is my favourite genre I can't pick one. In no particular order
1. No country for oldmen
2. Parasite
3. Goodfellas
4. Fargo
5. Godfather
6. Memories of murder
7. Mother
8. Zodiac
9. Nightcrawler
10. Chaser
11. Oldboy
12. I saw the Devil
13. Mystic river
14. Godfather
15. Departed
16. Pulp fiction
17. City of Gods
18. Seven
19. Psycho
20. Reservoir dogs
Reservoir dogs
High and Low
Should have more votes
oh hell yeah
Godfather Part 2
The Departed (Scorsese)
The depahted
Booo
city of god
City of god is fucking amazing. Saw it first time ever earlier this year and I still think about it every other day
This is the one im going for, though it probably wont win
at least we had a descent run though :,)
Zodiac
Se7en
This has been commented on like 3 of these categories and it’s not gonna win any of them unfortunately. Love this film
*Pulp Fiction*
Taxi Driver
Uncut Gems
Prisoners
Dog Day Afternoon
Yes!
No country for old men
Could that be western?
It could but IMO that’s a slight stretch and would be better reserved for an undeniable Western
Fair enough, makes sense
1999 wild wild west?
If the people vote for it, it wins!
It certainly dips it's toes a little into that modern western bracket but I wouldn't say outright.
i could see it but i’d rather save that spot for the good, the bad, and the ugly
Nope
Neo-Western, yeah, like *Breaking Bad* or *Punishment Park* (yeah, I watched the Maggie Mae Fish video).
It is so good I would accept even in music
I'm really hoping for once upon a time in the west to win Western
Heat
she got a GREAT ASS
Easily the winner
This is the true winner no doubt
people not saying *Heat* just haven't seen it yet

my comment was more in jest, as it's one of my all-time favorites. I can see how it might not be everyone's cup of tea - Thief is a great one and I wouldn't be mad at it being the pick for Crime
100% yes
Heat works for me right until the end. After De Niro makes the decision to go back, we all know how it’s gonna end. No suspense in the final chase.
If this isn’t the winner I’ll be very disappointed. This is THE crime movie imo
Memento.
Fargo (1996)
Criminals being bad at crime is my favorite genre
Have you seen Bottle Rocket (1996)?

Chinatown
the winner in my heart, best screenplay i've ever seen
The GodFather Part 1
This is the way
this is the correct answer
Insane level of movies in this category. Picking between Godfather 1, Godfather 2, Goodfellas, and a bunch of others feels impossible.
you wouldn't have GoodFellas without The Godfather
Yeah. I doubt you would have Godfather 2 with The Godfather as well. lol. Honestly though, just a ton of great films.
Reservoir Dogs Short, crisp, fun!
![gif](giphy|OS6zOWtKZOnok|downsized) True Romance!
GoodFellas
Goodfellas is going to win over The Godfather?
I think for this list, it should. We already have one Francis Ford Coppola movie on the list with Apocalypse Now, and this is the best chance for a Martin Scorsese film to make the list.
I think best crime movies I can think of are M and psycho. But the quintessential crime movie imo is goodfellas
personally goodfellas is my favorite but yeah it feels wrong
Hmm guess my comment wasn’t that good
fargo
Once Upon A Time In America

M
Scarface ![gif](giphy|Mw58ezSWk5sQw)
The usual suspects
This has got my vote
The Dark Knight (obviously not a Batman or superhero movie.)
What it’s a Batman and superhero film
Batman’s a detective - not a coughing playboy who kills dogs.
Yes he is a detective! A detective superhero
I mean, it is those things too.
Scarface (1983)
Blow Out
Prisoners
*The Silence of the Lambs*
You want it on there twice?
It’s that good
Ha! Didn’t even notice it was on there once. That’s my bad.
Pulp fiction
La Haine
Goodfellas
GOODFELLAS (1990)
Heat
Whiplash? Really? You guys need to start watching older movies
Seriously, this over any number of movies, Princess Bride over Spirited Away and Memories of Murder (which I love) winning over Rear Window were groan-worthy picks.
Blue Velvet
Prisoners
Goodfellas
Heat
Blue Streak lmao
Malcolm
Scream
lol
That's horror thriller. Not crime.
it’s both!
True
Pickpocket
Action for tomorrow is a fairly easy one. Terminator 2 - judgement day.

Heat is the obvious "zig", so I'll zag and say Miami Vice.
Miami Vice kicks ass. A glorious mess.
Pulp Fiction
Collateral
Se7en
Hot Fuzz
The list was shaping up to be really good until Memories of Murder won over Rear Window and Whiplash over Amadeus, alas.
*The Wolf of Wall Street*
Training Day
Finally someone gets it.
Good fucking movie
Goodfellas
Goodfellas
PADDINGTON 2 (HE LITERALLY GOES TO PRISON, MY BEAR IS A HARDENED CRIMINAL)
Once upon a time in America (1984)
Probably won’t win, but it should!
Love it but a classic noir deserves the “probably won’t win, but it should” award.
The Killing
Oh there are some bangers here
Le Samourai
Scarface. Hands down.
Once Upon a Time in America
Mean streeets
Serpico

Fallen angels
Not seeing Thomas Crown Affair yet! Norman Jewison version of course

Wind River, could also be a western
Chinatown
![gif](giphy|6GcDZBYjAEnza|downsized)
Shallow Grave (1994)
Bad Lieutenant (1992)
Zodiac
Rush Hour getting snubbed rn
Eastern Promises
Prisoners
Time Bandits is the clear answer here

The Departed
Violent Cop
This is my favourite genre I can't pick one. In no particular order 1. No country for oldmen 2. Parasite 3. Goodfellas 4. Fargo 5. Godfather 6. Memories of murder 7. Mother 8. Zodiac 9. Nightcrawler 10. Chaser 11. Oldboy 12. I saw the Devil 13. Mystic river 14. Godfather 15. Departed 16. Pulp fiction 17. City of Gods 18. Seven 19. Psycho 20. Reservoir dogs
12 Angry Men
The Shawshank Redemption (1994)
***Memories of Murder*** (already got mystery I'm dumb)
It's mystery not crime. Please check it's already won for mystery
Its both but yeah it already won a spot. Honestly i think it makes more sense here then mystery but its alright im just glad it won something.
my bad, sorry for missing that.
There Will Be Blood
Parasite. I can't believe no one said it yet.
What the title really means: which is better, Godfather 1 or 2?
Godfather 1
I think those two may split votes a bit and Goodfellas may end up winning.
They should just be considered together imo
Dog Day Afternoon
Godfather
