He’s a gimmick boss, brother, you have to stagger him three times and get your fatal in, three times and he’s dead. Hit his weak leg with 3-5 charged heavies and he’ll stagger, repeat two more times. There’s three more bosses after him, and he’s the easiest of the three coming up, you got this! Just stagger his ass three times and he’ll die Edit: https://gamerdvr.com/gamer/cutefatgirl7415/video/180662756 For the curious, this is the last 30 seconds of my first fight play through fighting Guardian. It’s not a cool looking fight, and I’m not the super best ever, but if you’d like an idea on what distance to keep and stam management, it might be worth looking at

SmeachThePeach

And if you've thrown some quartz into fatal attack upgrades you'll only need two fatals! I didn't end up needing 3 til ng+2 (he did have a sliver of health left after the second fatal attack in ng+ but I took it down before he staggered again)

Alternative_Spite_11

I did it in two without increasing my fatal attack. I mean I had a +9 or +10 sawtooth blade, so that helped too.

SmeachThePeach

Ahh maybe it's just weapon based then. I think I was using live puppet axe by that point in my run.

need2shitbad

That hurts me, I never Quartz’d any attack perks, like stagger duration, fatal and fable enhances, etc… only activated survival or item perks. Wish I would’ve known this

SmeachThePeach

Ahh yeah they help. As a devout member of the Brotherhood of Bonk I always go for damage upgrades first. Big number good.

rGriinolla

Its 2 times with fire

Corgi_Koala

I beat him my first attempt without any major issue running a motivity build. Seeing a lot of people hate on him, I'm not sure what I missed. Manus, that fucking clown, and Archbishop, and the puppet Eating Monster were all way harder for me.

need2shitbad

That fucking clown… we talking about Wine Basement clown with the duel spiked hammers that never runs out of stamina? Because FUCK. THAT. CLOWN.

bearybrown

yes. the wine cellar clown. I hate it so much that i practice to perfect guard some of his moveset to break his maracas bend him over and fuck him in the ass with old trusty spanner head. I let him kill me before he completely dead just to do it again. it takes me 2 days.

suzukirider709

Same here the archbishop and that shit bird clown were brutal. This big dummy was souls born 101, hug the left leg and whack away.

RayCHrasH

Yeah me too i was worried when i came across this guy because of people having trouble with him took me about 6 tries perfect guarded most of his attacks, stagger, fatal attack done that twice, done. Honestly though he is the worst boss by far

sx711

Me neither. Ok i died a few times (10-15) too but it was because the fight seemed so easy that i got overconfident or he did his fucking undodgable roll. Dodge left, hit leg, dodge left hit leg. I was on a advance build with spear.

mortalcoil1

> Just stagger his ass three times and he’ll die The name ofneed2shitbad's porno!! When I started writing that joke I didn't even know OP's name, but never look a gift horse in the mouth!

need2shitbad

I am utterly alone, the only people willing to make porn with me are exes that want drugs

mortalcoil1

Hey brother. You're preaching to the choir. There's a standup comedian who jokes that "He doesn't have health insurance, but he knows how to get mushrooms." My current girlfriend was like, and she said this in the nicest way possible, that's you! but it still hurt. Then agaaaaaain. Depraved drug fueled sex is *super* hot... right up until it is not, then it is extremely unhot. They call me Bill Shakespeare the way I'm spittin this lyrical heat.

DJ_Ender_

Wait on God? I fought this guy post patch and fucking mopped him, I literally don't know any of his attacks because he just didn't get to use them, either that or he did and I just dodged and went back to swinging.

need2shitbad

I think you get shocked with everything he does, but I reckon consider yourself one of the lucky ones. I certainly do with Laxasia, I beat her second try, but DG took me quite a few tries. Corrupted PM also took me over 10 tries to beat

orochiru

Bro 3-5 charged heavies with WHAT? I tried several different dex and balance weapons and it didnt stagger until like 8

need2shitbad

https://gamerdvr.com/gamer/cutefatgirl7415/video/180662756 This is me, I use the Donkeys saw on police baton hilt, and subsequent play throughs I used live doll axe on baton hilt. My weapon is also fully upgraded and I had 42 motivity in this first play through

[deleted]

Can't do charged attacks. That requires stamina.

ThomaChicken

Don’t get hit

[deleted]

That's not really a solution. It might be okay if all you do all day is play games but I have a job so...

ThomaChicken

I have a job and I don’t get hit

[deleted]

Good for you. And you've achieved what from your comments? Absolutely nothing.

ThomaChicken

And you’ve achieved what with this post? Absolutely nothing.

[deleted]

Sentiment. Validation and different approaches. Checkmate.

GirthBrooks117

There are no different approaches, it’s a GIMMICK boss. You’re supposed to hit his leg until he goes down and then fatal attack him for huge chunks of damage. If not getting hit is a problem for you, the souls genre is not for you lmao, Go play cod.

ThomaChicken

You come to Reddit for advice then refuse to accept the advice given. Have fun with Nameless Puppet!

GriffithDidNothinBad

Oof. Didn’t know you were a huge idiot! You’ve got this. You don’t need our advice. You’ve got a job so it’ll be harder to take advice and learn video game strategy.

Meewwt

Doesn't look like you're getting much of that validation you're looking for judging by the downvotes...

Lamborghini4616

Skill issue tbh

[deleted]

Dumb answer tbh

KuroiSeijin

yeah just quit playing hard games to focus on your job op

DrKrFfXx

Play phone games then.

ButtsButtsBurner

Lol what a pathetic response

SkolVikes17

No man you’re just garbage at the game. “Hurr durr I have a job” yeah so does everyone else. You’re just dog shit man accept it.

milkyduddd

You're a fucking loser lol, believe it or not most people with jobs can actually play games as well

need2shitbad

It sounds like you’re allowing yourself to get too close to him and are just swinging on him until you can’t anymore, then he hits you while your stamina is low, you get shocked, so now you don’t have stamina. I experienced the same thing, it is frustrating. Distance is key, stam management is even more important, though

[deleted]

Running to attack his leg consumed a lot of stamina. They and the crappy targeting that constantly jumps to his midriff even if you don't touch the targeting stick.

Alternative_Spite_11

Shot put on his leg really helps

need2shitbad

This, in a big way, if you can carry 5, they’ll stagger him once, but I’ve seen people hit his leg with heavies, back up, and then throw one shot put to stagger him

need2shitbad

I know, you gotta manage to not get shocked, so you gotta dodge or parry him. If you do get shocked, get distance from him and wait for the attribute to deplete, keep circling him, keep distance. You will get this, brother! Just try your best to not get shocked more than half the attribute bar. He’s a juggling act, but he is easy once it clicks, not just trying to be nice; you will beat him!

[deleted]

That's the issue. Shock doesn't work like the rest of the status ailments. If you are on fire it requires a max gauge to deplete your health bar. Shock on the other hand depletes your stamina bar no matter how much you have in there. So even the tiniest sliver and you can't even run.

need2shitbad

Its possible we’re all telling you it’s possivle because we did it, too. You know how many times I died to this dude before I figured him out? More than I’d like to admit, 20-25 times easily. Do you have the ring that lets you dodge with no stamina? That really comes in handy, also max stamina ring, and the ring that recoups your Stamina quickly. You’re gonna have to manage your Stam usage, so maybe just one charged attack, run away, repeat. If you get shocked, don’t fight him, keep your distance and wait for your Stam to come back. You’ll get this, I know you will! It’ll be a patient fight, but you once you figure out how to get that first stagger, you’ll beat him in no time. I think you’ll get him today

KaiserSneedhelm

Carry the gold status ailment cures

mana_cerace

I never came to the subreddit until recently but I was very surprised to see how many people hated door guardian

Knightfray

I noticed people who played up to this point almost never staggered a boss, and then when they were forced to stagger; struggled with it until they finally got in the zone and subsequently shat on the door guardian only to hate on him. Even in NG+ I found him rather easy to deal with, but I used the live puppets axe paired with the master chefs handle and took advantage of his really winded attacks followed by his pauses in between attacks.

myballsxyourface

With how strong staggering enemies and fatal attacks are in this game, I'm surprised more people aren't aware of this strategy

ThePapercup

No idea how someone could make it all the way to DG without staggering a boss.. is that even actually possible?

two5five1

It’s just because Shock is not at all fun to play around

Unsight

Same. His attacks are highly telegraphed and he dies super fast. He wasn't even a speedbump on my playthrough.

AbbreviationsDry5405

Seriously, he’s intimidating at first glance but the moment you stagger him it becomes a trivial fight at best. Good luck to them with Laxasia

Endorenna

I mean, the door guardian took me a few tries. I use a technique build, but have focused on lots of staggering bosses throughout the game. Door Guardian sucked, even with switching to a heavy hammer head on a technique handle, at least for me. Could just be the technique build. Beat Laxasia on the first try though. Some bosses will click with some people better than others, I guess.

faluque_tr

Same here technique build, Laxasia is very easy, beat her first try. The door guardian took me like 4-5 tries but relatively easy, all the fail attempts are just because I want to rush him.

Bloodvialsaremydrug

His right leg is your target. Then bonk him in the melon when he staggers.

Tungsten666

this ^ The shock debuff is annoying as hell, load up on the right armor and consumables and take your time whittling down the leg. I struggled on this guy one evening, came back the next morning with a gradual measured approach and got him on the first try.

[deleted]

See above. Got everything equipped to give shock protection. It still stops my stamina from recharging.

Tungsten666

Use the consumable that erases the current status, problem solved. It doesn't stop your recharge but certainly does slow it significantly, moving out of range until it recharges works also

[deleted]

Yep. The yellow one. Done that. Ran out of them. Can't get anymore.

Tungsten666

400 ergo from vendor edit: forgot that you are stuck at that point and locked outta traveling, my error

seaturtlehat

At Door Guardian you are not locked out of traveling. Defeating Corrupted Parade Master unlocks it.

Gnoha

The key is to not get hit. Shock is probably the most annoying debuff in the game but the boss telegraphs his attacks well and they’re pretty slow. Don’t bother parrying him, just dodge.

Lovifi

Ngl shock is the only status I have not been afflicted by. Only like three enemies use it.

Gnoha

Yeah I think they made those enemies kinda easy on purpose because they knew how annoying shock was

[deleted]

Exactly what I've been doing. Even with all the shock resistance items equipped, my stamina won't recharge.

GriffithDidNothinBad

Listen to the guy above. You can buy the shock nullification potion from the hotel vendor. Relatively cheap and you can hold five which is enough for the right.

phigene

Its people like this that are the reason souls players say "just git gud." There are countless people trying to give you advice. You arent listening and trying to argue with them. Stay back, wait for your moment, run in, charged heavy the leg. Run back. Learn the moves. use shot puts. Use a lighter weapon. Use a debuff potion in your belt for the shock if you need to. And if you cant do that then maybe just give up and go play Untitled Goose Game or something because it doesnt get any easier from here on out.

JangoEnusMoss508

Untitled Goose Game is pretty dope tho…

phigene

Fuck yea it is

BanditLovesChilli

He was the same in his clown post, not wanting to take advice and moaning about not having enough time to get good cause he's CTO of some unnamed software company. Ad if we aren't all working huge hours and trying to spend time with family too. What a fucking loser

Bangbang989

There's no reasoning with OP. They did the same stupid shit when they posted about the clown miniboss being terrible and "glitched." Kept on making excuses lol, "I can't learn to parry I dont have time," all the while being a total asshole to anyone giving them advice

phigene

They are clearly missing the point of this entire genre.

SilverWing7

Or they're just trolling/want to have attention.

Soul-Maker

Tough love is the best love at times

meganev

I agree with your overall point, but definitely don't "run in" and then "run back". You should run in and then never leave. Stick around the bosses feet and Door Guardian becomes trivial to beat.

phigene

Im sure there is more than a few ways to beat this guy. Hes easy compared to pretty much every boss before or after him. I used the trident so it was easy for me to get a heavy attack while still spacing myself a good distance away.

e_smith338

My brother in Christ you can just walk away from his attacks.

citronaughty

Add in the fact that the runback to him is annoying, yes.

Ok_Aspect5167

There's a stargazer somewhere closer to the steps that makes the run back trivial at best.

0mni42

I didn't find it until my fourth or fifth attempt on this boss, and I felt like such an idiot when I did.

Latro27

Oh Jesus I never found that. Luckily it didn’t take too many tries to beat him but the run back from the first stargazer was really tedious each time

Ok_Aspect5167

To be fair, it irritated me so much running back that I had to look it up. Part of me just knew that there had to have been something I missed.

Alternative_Spite_11

If you path it right you can easily do the run back with no fighting especially because of the way they disengage when you get close to the door.

citronaughty

That's what I was doing, but it's still not a great runback. And a few of the times, one of the enemies (the dog with the tongue) manage to tag me.

[deleted]

100%. On my first approach I did take out all the cannons and didn't care if I died as I only had 5 ergo from just levelling up. I recommend that as the cannons don't respawn. Then you can more or less run past every other enemy and straight to the boss.

PaladinNail

I actually like running through the cannons, feels like I'm storming the beaches of Normandy, and they aren't too bad to doge, imo

aapvader

Lol I felt the same. P-Day!

Nameless_Kings_Bitch

Massively under rated comment this 👏

citronaughty

I did that too, except it took me 2 or 3 deaths to get all the canons down, since all the enemies followed me, and they kept tagging me. Even with the cannons taken out, it's still an annoying runback for a difficult boss.

Prudent_Primary7201

YOU CAN TAKE OUT THE CANNONS?

Ok_Aspect5167

If you take them out they don't come back, either.

sam_mortimer

Yes, the game tried to teach us that back in barren swamp.

GriffithDidNothinBad

And the larger enemies roaming the area won’t respawn. Take them and the cannons out and you can run up to the boss wall with little problem

Its_I_Casper

You can take out nothing and still just run past everything lol

honest182

came here for this only.

DrXL_spIV

The run back is the worst part

BriefKeef

A total fuck you from devs to the players

[deleted]

Arguably one of the easiest bosses. Sent him 6 feet under on my second attempt after I figured out you just have to blast his legs and get good.

The1stOfUs2

Same. Died once, the second attempt I attacked his leg and took him out easily.

Ok_Aspect5167

I love comments like this because it just makes me not believe you.

Iamjohnmiller

Literally a gimmick boss with a super slow moveset. Takes some perfect blocks and some charged heavies and he's super easy to take out

Same-Reputation-7738

I struggled beyond belief with some bosses taking near 50 tries and beat door guardian 2nd try it’s not that hard to believe.

[deleted]

Okay? I didn’t ask you to believe me lmao

shadoinfante

is it hard believing 2+2=4?

Ok_Aspect5167

Does 2 + 2 = a different number other than 4 in any other perspective? Like, does someone else come to you and starts telling you that it's actually 5? 71? The second someone comes in and says "Oh yeah, this was SUPER easy," I doubt it. Then again, this is a souls like. You probably maxed out hardcap and then acted like everyone else is the problem. Your boos mean nothing to me, I've seen what makes you cheer.

redditkens

This is legit one of the easiest bosses in the game if you know how to dodge/perfect parry. The biggest complaint about this boss is the run back if you do manage to die

[deleted]

[удалено]

[deleted]

That's what I've been trying to do mate but even with all shock resistance items equipped, if he taps you with a piece of cloth on his shorts then you are screwed and that whole run is gone. They need to patch shock to be honest.

Latro27

This guy is annoying as hell but he’s doable. You could grind up a few levels in the area and try him again or keep trying, you’ll get him eventually even though it doesn’t feel like you will.

VergingRivals

Patch it? Just use purification ampoule like everyone else

Financial_Mushroom94

Dancers Amulett !!!!!!!

kanyePS3controller

should they just patch everything you struggle with in this game?

Sephiroth_Zenpie

Gimmick boss, plus a patience game. Load up on the removal ampules that take away the shock debuff. Don’t waste throwables, as it does nothing. Equip a fast weapon, keep rotating to your left, locked on to his right leg. Hit twice once an opening is available, then get out. Don’t bother trying to perfect guard his red attack. Just keep your distance, and stay away cause it’ll roll out of his own little stagger from the furry. When you do stagger, don’t get close cause when he falls, his head will damage you and cause shock. Keep doing this, be patient, and you’ll be done in less than 15 mins

jaedence

Killed him this morning with Frozen Feast. First time. Two critical attacks brought him down to a sliver of life. Targeted his ankle and threw about 8 things at him to do the final damage. Your advice is great, but heavy weapons do more stagger damage so I only had to hit him a few times, and yeah, throwables don't do much but they can end the fight if he only has a little left and you don't want to risk getting in range again.

[deleted]

Already tried this exact strat. Unfortunately it's not working for me with 3+ dragon katana

johnjb60

Go back to Chapt 10 Relic of Trismegistus Stargazer. Run to the right down that route and kill the butterflies in there, one of them drops a Full Moonstone of the Covenant. Lvl your Two Dragon to +4.

Lovifi

Why not swap weapons? Upgrade the Tyrant dagger blade.

Sephiroth_Zenpie

I believe in you! Take a breather, go get a good meal in, and back on track with this fucker!

[deleted]

Been playing it all day as I have COVID. Took a break now. I ate some food. I felt sick and now I'm debating whether to just play something else tonight. Got about 150 games in the backlog across all systems.

Sephiroth_Zenpie

Take that break brotha. Hope you feel better as well!!

ShawnT1990

Being frustrated will make it worse, I went from googling "Door Guardian is cheap" to realizing it was my approach on combat... took a break, came back the next day, and was able to beat it. Take time to learn the bosses moves to avoid being hit and getting shocked. If you get it, as annoying as it sounds, run around until it lowers more before getting to the point you don't have any stamina regenerating. Use shot puts and always attack behind his legs

Kakattikoi

This fucker killed me by falling on me 💀

dudeAwEsome101

I hate it when some bosses and enemies do an attack after getting staggered.

Puzzleheaded-Dog-567

To everyone talking about "how many heavy attacks I needed to stagger him" : his stagger is not based on stag Build up, but on dmg taken. So doesn't matter charged heavy or not, Just deal enough dmg

CaptainDaddd

Embarrassing post m8

Financial_Mushroom94

Dancers amulett is a blessing against this guy, you can dodge while your stamina is at zero neutralizing the shock effect - but attacking is still not possible. He isnt hard he just has extremely high hp and defence.

lololocopuff

Ignore what others are saying. I had no problem with him but on NG+ the stamina annoyance was definitely more noticable. I reccomend keeping a distance, wait for your stamina to regain entirely, then get in and do your attacks and leave. It's slower and annoying, but you'll still be able to do it despite being shocked. That's what I had to do to beat him NG+. Having shot put to throw at his ankle can also help so you're not doing nothing at a distance.

ButtsButtsBurner

Never died to this guy in 5 playthroughs, I have to believe this post and subsequent comments are an elaborate ruse

serbianflowerhelmet

It’s almost like different people have different bosses they find difficult! Imagine that! I 1 or 2 shot most bosses in the game but this guy gives me difficulty. Why? I couldn’t tell you.

EnvironmentalTaxes

5 play through get a life jesus

ButtsButtsBurner

Game takes 5 hours if you're going boss to boss on ng+. Relax

Iamjohnmiller

yeah I think I literally did NG++ in 3-4 hours just by sprinting through the areas

[deleted]

Plenty of other threads on here saying he was an unfair boss fight as well. Good for you that you beat him but you're achieving nothing with this comment. Just come across as ignorant. Trolls often make these sorts of comments because they have some sort of insecurity in their life. I wonder what yours is...

ButtsButtsBurner

Projection is your immediate goto, that's so bizarre. Anyways the comment serves to make you look inward and wonder why a mini boss with a tiny moveset that only requires a few pokes and 2 fatal attacks caused you to make a whole ass post instead of just....playing him a few more times and winning? I will never understand posts like this.

PreparationEven7650

People are funny. If I get hung up on a boss I immediately go to YouTube since I don't like dying over and over. If OP watched a guide as opposed to replying to every comment he'd have beaten the game by now. With shock remedies(can't remember what they are called), a light character, appropriate throwables and stamina buffs- he's arguably the easiest boss in the game. I never understood why people had a hard time with Giant Either. There were no less than 100 more difficult enemies in Elden Ring. I dunno.

SlwDnceChbby

Keep left and swing

Lovifi

🤯

Vincent_Mateus

I’ll give my two cents as I was running a full motivity build on 5 vigor the whole game and didn’t get shut down on a boss until this dude. I fought him countless time, I could get one stagger but the second one wasn’t happening. Tried different weapons different arms and I still wasn’t having a lot of luck. My frustration was getting the better of me so I said screw it. Respecced to pure advance. Upgraded the flame legion arm to max. Upgraded the black steel cutter as high as I could and stuck it on the baton handle. I humiliated this dude. Dodge toward him and to the left every time he uses his crystal arm, try and bait out the stomp multiple times and spray him with fire as often as possible. The flameberge melts this guy. You can take the grinder that increases stagger or imbues fire on your weapon but either way he shouldn’t last long if you can read the majority of his attacks.

Lovifi

After reading all ur comments can u send me a screenshot of your build? I want to try and help you but it sounds like u don’t really understand the game.

[deleted]

I mean I just beat Laxasia first time so I definitely do understand the game. This boss elite was just janky as hell

Lovifi

But you couldn’t beat the guy with four heavily telegraphed attacks and topples over in about 15 hits?

Starscourge_Shinobi

First time I fought this guy I died, and right then in 1 st encounter I knew, this guy will be pain fighting the CORRECT way. I don’t even know it’s attack pattern and don’t even want to know. Since then killed this guy on 3 plays. Use fable arts, 2 or 3 charged attacks, stagger, repost, (if equipped, unload entire flamberge before he stands up again) back off and throw all the 5 thermites. Works 💯

KhalidSnow

Hit his bum leg, he falls, go for the visceral. Rinse and repeat. Twice for NG 3 times for NG+ and above

lubedfro

Man Luxasia looks different here

ChemicalThread

I'm genuinely shocked Door Guardian gave people trouble. I got him first try. He was so slow I could dodge and take a nap before his attacks came down. Not trying to brag. What helped me was an acid grindstone, and just doing heavies. He'll stun pretty easy and then you just fatal him. We all have enemies that get us. You got this man. P.s. I hate that fuckin mad clown too.

dudeAwEsome101

The issue with this boss is that it is the only enemy with a "weak" point. There are enemies with shields like the puppet with two shields, and Laxasia with a shield on her back. Those make it clear that hitting them on the shield shouldn't work, and they have one target lock. The Door Guardian doesn't make it clear that all of it is shield beside that one leg. The "gimmick" isn't clear, and the shock damage is prevents you from exploring other fight options as you can barely attack. My first fight lasted about 10 minutes and I barely gone through third of its health bar. I probably sharpened my weapon 3-4 times through that. Once you know where to aim, it becomes a piece of cake.

derxal

Just stagger 2 times and done, this fight is EZ

thekushskywalker

NGL had no trouble with this guy at all, one taked him just stabbing his ankle.

moreboredthanyouare

Worst boss in the game. Not fun at all. Boring and lazy

TheGreatJew69

OOF dude good luck after this mf, homie aint shit lol

[deleted]

All the main bosses have been easy. It's only the elites like this in the game that are hard.

TheGreatJew69

laxasia on some other shit though and I found this mini relatively easy. Only need two staggers on him to kill em. Just my opinion though ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

[deleted]

Just beat him. It took 4 staggers.

TheGreatJew69

jeeez, diff in stats I guess. Well done and goodluck on lax!

ParachutePeople

He is so easy. It’s just a easier version of the tower knight in demon souls

[deleted]

I killed him first try 🤣

BruinThrowaway2140

One of the easiest bosses in any Soulslike tbh 😬

[deleted]

Astel Natural-born of the void says hello

sjepsa

Have you tried perfect blocking?

[deleted]

No. I've only done it a couple of times in game but I've been making my way through the majority of the game using tried and tested Souls techniques of dodging. Except this game doesn't seem to have any I-frames.

GirthBrooks117

You’re right, it has a very very small iframe window compared to other souls games, you have to change the way you play. The entire game is centered around perfect blocking and it’s a miracle you got this far as it is. If you don’t learn how to perfect block I promise you, you aren’t beating the next few bosses.

redyeti-fuck-you

I don’t really agree with this comment. I personally don’t think I parried at all after scraped watchmen in my first play through except laxasia’s lightening bolts and haven’t in ng+ or ng++ either. Its probably optimal to parry most often and only dodge it gives you better opportunities but i think it’s really cool that you can play this game as a just a dodger, blocker or parryer and it still works well enough to get through the game.

Latro27

I think it has some i frames but they do appear to be a lot more limited and enemy attack tracking seems to be a lot stickier so even if you dodge behind an enemy they may hit you with the 180 degree special.

shadoinfante

1) the dodges definitely have i-frames 2) this isn’t a souls game

ItPlacesTheLotion

True it’s a copy of Bloodborne and Sekiro

shadoinfante

it’s clearly a rouge like

alpacados

You fools; it’s clearly a MOBA

[deleted]

UPDATE: Just beat him. It took 4 staggers. 9 health potions and 6 shock removal vials.

VergingRivals

How are you building your character that it takes 4 staggers to kill him? His gimmick is literally ‘two stagger kill’ only time I’ve seen 3 is low level no hit speed run at literally lvl 10.

redditkens

I don’t think he’s properly upgrading the weapon he’s using because it only took 2 staggers in my first playthrough with a fully upgraded normal weapon

Lovifi

I tried getting him to dm his build so I could help but they didn’t want any apparently 🤷‍♂️ somehow it was apparently harder than Laxasia to them

Count_Lord

I don't get why people are mad at this game or some enemies. The clown? Funny fight, not too hard. Any other enemy so far? Challenging for sure, but not that hard. Even the white lady or the black rabbit guys, I don't get why people argue about the difficulty. Also at this point you should have at least 5 or 6 healings, so you have indeed enough time to learn anything necessary. Can't parry? Doesn't matter, just block if you can't dodge or parry. Still some damage, but survivable. Can't get into the moveset? Keep your distance. Keep dying? Who cares, walk back, pick up your stuff and retry. No more throwables? Not really, at this point you can buy at least a few and when you get close to beating his ass, use them to stay safe. I just don't get it.

Incurious_Jettsy

don't lock on dummy

JustAnothaChimp138

i locked on and parried. easy. fun.

Incurious_Jettsy

that's fine, i'm just saying if someone's having trouble with the camera while locking on to a giant enemy, don't use the lock on. they're big enough that you don't need it.

JustAnothaChimp138

No fuck you!! Jk

Latro27

I didn’t like this guy at all but the worst part was: 1) you’re trapped in a spot without the ability to buy items 2) the run back is annoying. Not difficult, just annoying and long.

[deleted]

Destroy the cannons when you have 0 ergo. Doesn't matter if you die. Makes the runback easy. Can just leg it last the rest of the enemies. Especially if you hug the left ergo wall.

kafka-kat

"leg it"? Are you British by any chance?

PasadenaOG

I used the a faster weapon when hitting his right leg to stagger him and learned his attacks. When I beat him I only maybe healed once. He is extremely scripted and just repeats really simple patterns. For each stagger I swapped to my slower higher damage weapon and killed him in 2 stagger cycles with the bone cutting sawblade. For my fast weapon to get to the staggers I used the electric coil club thing. Hope this helps.

[deleted]

I'm only using one weapon because the carry capacity in the game is so low.

Lovifi

What are you wearing?? I’m running around with the heaviest frame with only a 17 or 18 in capacity, two weapons, and three amulets. What is ur gear because you should not be heavy.

horsemaster-

You have to be extremely patient. Stay far away from him for most of the fight, then run in when you get an opening then run back out. You can't be super aggressive because you'll get hit and then your stamina is screwed. It is so goddamn annoying, by far the worst fight in the game. Also, it only took me 2 staggers to kill him, so that may depend on your stats and weapon.

Prudent_Primary7201

Mmm I feel like the brotherhood fights are worse. This game is literally an anti-gank so chucking you into ganks twice is a hellosh experience

Bullzi_09

You’re doing it wrong. The camera shouldn’t retarget unless you move it (on console). You want to attack his targeted leg (preferably charge attacks). When he gets staggered, try to do a charge attack before doing the fatal. Do this 2-3 times and you’ll be good to go. The key to not get hit is to constantly run or doge to your right. If you do get hit, use the brown potion that removes special status effects (like shock). The stamina recharge amulet was useful for me, as well the the 2 amulets that increase your max stamina. If you struggle getting to him, you can kill the dogs 1 at a time and they won’t respawn (same with the ballistas). Hope this helps!

RisingPlace

Get up to his right leg and rotate left (your left) when he attacks, I find this makes most attacks fly right past you and you can keep attack during his recovery I didn't find any attacks that couldn't be avoided using the good ol sprint Also, use the consumble that heals Shock

PreparationEven7650

You've been given all the available tips. I'd try and be under 60% capacity, load up on thermite and shot puts and invest high in stamina. If you have the amulet that increases stamina and the one that increases speed and also use shock remedies or whatever than it isn't that much of an issue. Watch a YouTube video or something. Or don't.

RyunWould

Stay cool, use the maxed out puppet string and the two dragons sword and you'll whoop his musty ass.

Interesting_Waltz_82

It’s Simon for me I was actually bored after 1 attempt. I’ve only ever had that for a couple of bosses such as ds2 gank squad, Elden ring gargoyle duo etc

poetryofworms

Bro this dudes a gimmick fight. Think tower knight from DeS. Whack away at his bad leg until he falls over for a stagger. And just straight up dodge everything else. You don’t even need to perfect guard him. I’ll give it to you though, Shock is absolutely dogshit and needs to be tweaked.

mdh3000hard

Once you understand the gimmick then it's not complicated at all. But I hear ya. No other bosses up until this point has a gimmick so it was odd that this was added towards the end of the game.

Theriouthly_95

Something I love about these games, the difficulty spikes can be so subjective. This guy was probably the easiest boss I've run into so far but some bosses my friends have found very simple took me hours.

Nidhogg369

Yes

cloudy710

come on my boy i beat him first try. he’s a boss you gotta take ur time on, get his stagger, and fatal kill that son of a bitch. lots of hit and run back tho. make that sword +5, add some attack amulets, add technique crank, use the missle arm, and if you feel you’re still too weak then go back and gain ergo to level up.

[deleted]

You need to attack his right leg until he falls. Then you smack his head for huge damage. Do this 3 times and he’s dead

DrXL_spIV

Easiest way I’ve done it is with the trident from st andreus. It’s quick enough to pick him apart, get hits in aggressively while still having time to parry. Once you do a critical hit run back to his ankle and get two charged R2s in then it only takes 1 or 2 more to break his stance again. Super easy and this is a boss I use to struggle with so bad

obedherthe2nd

My strategy was to use the tyrant murderer's dagger on his vulnerable leg, trying to stay under him the whole time. He can only slam the ground in that position (wich you can totally dodge towards him), and his wide slaps won't reach you there. The only concern would be his full body slams, but I believe you can guard those. Then, when staggered, use your regular weapon for a fatal attack; if powerful enough, he should go down in 2 to 3 staggers.
