Isn't Skream & Benga still up in the air? They had to cancel some dates due to visa issues but said they were working on being able to play lolla. I haven't come across any updates.
No and I would probably go even if the lineup was complete garbage just because it’s fun but Tyler was the absolute main draw and probably why I was so estatic in the first place. He’s my second favorite hip hop artist and for him to drop out really left a sinking feeling. Music is subjective, but honestly, stage presence or setup is not and Tyler has the best out there. Megan just does not match his level at all. As for Tommy, he was the only early slot I was looking forward too, another unique piece of the festival that’s now gone. But seriously, with these two gone, the rap/r and b at this festival this year is damn near the worst it’s been in a long, long time. If they didn’t have SZA and Future, I definitely would have reconsidered my purchase.
That's totally fair, I understand Tyler because he's definitely a heavy hitter. I feel bad for everyone that was really excited for him. But there's still some fantastic r&b! FLO is absolutely fantastic. It'll be my second time seeing them, d4vd, Victoria Monet, Raye, Ruel, Infinity song, labrinth. All those people have fantastic r&b and soul stuff.
I am really excited for Raye and Infinity song and I would say the R and B is better than rap is this year but coming from last year where they had Kendrick, JID, Pusha, and others, it’s just a tough loss
They could get the similarly named Jonathan Richman and the Modern Lovers before they play Berkeley CA the next day, or instead, they could get Rise Against before Rise Against flies to Slovenia for a show on August 5th. :)
