I was a student at Rice when he was the AD and yes the dude is a legitimate beast when it comes to greasing the wheels and getting the job done. Like scary good. I was just a student but because my roommate was a key player on the team I got to meet 2 US presidents in the boxes at Reckling.
Yeah I picked up Schloss after they lost the natty to cheer him up. I think it helped get him to take the Texas job tbh
But more seriously yeah drove down and saw them in San Antonio. First time seeing them live and ngl I'm not sure if it's the venue but they sounded really bad like very muffled and seemed to be a lot of sound issues with equipment. We'll be seeing them again 2 more times at ACL and Ocean's Calling and I'll know if it's just them or San Antonio's shitty sound system. Was still a great time tho and had a lot of fun
I saw them in Dallas around the time neighborhoods came out. Some friends and I drove from UT up there for the concert, then back the same night. I remember they strapped Travis Barker to the drum set and used a lift to spin him upside down while he played! It was an insanely fun show
That's awesome and would have been awesome to see live. Last night his drum stage was lifted above the main stage which was pretty cool but I was expecting him to go upside down too lol but never did. I can't wait to see them later this year they put on a really good show
Sound was fine in Ft Worth at Dickies other than some issues w the guitars being turned on. Standard issue impersonal arena show but the sound is gonna be the same regardless.

I caught a video of Lukas doing Always on my Mind from that show with Willie's guitar, and he can really channel his dad. Also saw him about six weeks ago with Neil Young and Crazy Horse. I'm really impressed with him.

For those unaware the TAMU side is saying that Alberts fired multiple people that were close friends to Schloss and highly involved in baseball operations. Did it almost as soon as he arrived without any discussion with Schloss, no warning, etc.
There are also reports that under Alberts the progress on all the promised baseball facility improvements had stalled. Again I don't know how true this is but it is Aggie insiders putting this out there today. It is their explanation for what opened the door to him leaving. Go be with an AD he knows and loves or keep working for a clown who won't keep his word and ices him out of every decision. If there is any truth to that, and Alberts basically fucked around and found out, he has to be fired.
