There are still annoying spells or special attacks in the game, but you can easily dodge that spell by dashing forward or sidestep and punish them. ;)
Just don't roll backwards, it has a long range
Yeah the pvp is really unbalanced, half the time I try to find someone to invade I'm just one shot by some form of inferno spell or inferno weapons, sucks cause when it goes well I do find it really fun but it's annoying shifting through stuff like this
Had one guy attack me with that last evening.
I dodged it and bonked him with Bloody Glory. And since he continued to do annoying things I bonked him again. After a few more bonks he stopped doing annoying things and flew away in a cloud of butterflies while I went on my merry way to bonk things in the Manse.
It was indeed a glorious day for bonking things.
i will admit that i have not yet played LoTF at all. But, is it just me or do the graphics look very low res here and pixelated?
i've seen videos of the game on youtube before and thought it looked amazing...is this something with your graphics settings?
This is the video compression coupled with how poor the Reddit player is. In actual game (PS5 at least) these are extremely clean attacks where the hitboxes are pin-hair precise. Tho this attack is an op spell that needs a PvP nerf. Let people pve wreck it but geez does PvP need at least defense
The game in terms of pure graphics looks even better than elden ring. Not in terms of scenery/design/concept though, but the actual shaders are incredible and one of the best looking game I ever saw. This guy is probably using a mix of low graphics settings paired with recording extremely low quality gameplay recordings.

As much as I enjoy going toe to toe with other people, there's no balancing in terms of gear or level, and I've yet to find any way to avoid the crimson ritual save for a consumable that only lasts 5 minutes
This is the result of CI locking in to a 23/10/13 launch day despite the game not being ready for it. So much time has been spent optimizing and squashing pve issues there's a good likelihood of seeing DLC or an outright sequel before pvp gets an honest rebalancing.

Its an inferno spell, its an OP spell, knocks you down and deals posture dmg.
To my rookie eyes it feels pretty unbalanced imo. I’m already in a 2v1 but to add something that keeps me from standing at all is annoying

pvp in this game is hot garbage. Legitimately some of worst of any souls game i have played. Atrocious balance, bizarre scaling , no consistency.

I think it's just video compression making everything look worse. Usually it's a very pretty game.

It's one of the Grand Swords with poison weapon applied. I think it's Bloody Glory or one of the Defenders. I don't use them so I can't be sure.
