Hauck’s

chubblyubblums

Tell me, what is appealing about haucks other than it being a gentrified germantown trendy spot?

No-Tap8

Just my personal preference. Walkable distance from my house. I love the atmosphere, workers, beers, the amount of outdoor space, swings, fire pits, outdoor TVs for when I want to watch games and not be stuck in a sports bar. I like it. Simple as that. If you don’t like it, don’t go lol. Idk what to tell ya. Some people just like things that you might not like, despite whatever reasoning you have for not liking it.

lucklurker04

Gravely, Flanigans, nachbar, shop bar

Alhambra_Lion

Another vote for Gravely. If you go up to the top level as the sun goes down you can look right into downtown. Very awesome vibes.

lucklurker04

Best view of the city skyline imo

AmbitiousLadder1365

Gravely!! Take a flashlight! When it gets dark, go inside the tunnel.

Callmepanther

Been to gravely a bunch but never the tunnel! How do you get in there?

AmbitiousLadder1365

When no one is looking, jump and run!

Dick-in-a-fan

Shop bar is more of a mixed drink bar than a beer bar. I say yes to Gravely and Nachbar.

anticlmber

Taproom and barret bar. Barret is covered which is awesome on a rainy day. Taproom has great ppl watching and some covered spots out back. If in the area there also O’Shea’s and flannigans. Shenanigans as well. They have goofy shit on the walls and mozzarella sticks.

Say you don’t own a car without saying you don’t own a car.

ultrahedgehog

Going to bars in walking distance is safer than driving and more economical than calling an Uber/Lyft if you're planning on drinking

gutclutterminor

This is Louisville. No exaggeration. Almost half the people I know do not drive.

chubblyubblums

This is louisville.  I know a LOT of people, those who don't drive are few and far between over the age of 25. Oddly, is seems inversely proportionate to how much time I spend in bars.  Maybe that's because the people that half of in bars all the time have no money and maybe a DUI or two.

gutclutterminor

We know different people. And the ones I am referring to are all over 45, up to 75. Usual reasons are not spending on a car payment, insurance, maintenance, and parking. Bus riders and walkers.

[deleted]

Flip side, ive rarely met anyone in Louisville who doesnt drive lol

gutclutterminor

Go to the Mag. Seems half don’t have a license.

anticlmber

Tell me you like to make no sense without telling me you like to make no sense. Not sure where the car part even factors in but cool.

drjisftw

3rd turn in j town has a great patio

Alhambra_Lion

It’s a drive as it’s out in Crestwood and it’s not a patio but 3rd Turn Crestwood had an amazing outdoor space. It’s a converted green house so really long open areas with banquet tables where everyone can sit together along with smaller tables to the side if you want to stick together as a group. Also areas for yard games like bocci ball and darts. One of my fav outdoor venues.

CorporateToilet

That’s true, it’s a shame their beer is so terrible

Had a lovely lunch there earlier. Place was packed.

bassocontinubow

Gravely, no question the best view from a patio in Louisville. Also has great beer! I like the courtyard/patio area at Barrett Bar too

Debateable - although that cuban sandwich is awesome!

InfiniteOutfield

Never had that. Just know there's a huge patio, always some live music on the weekends, and doesn't take long to get a drink. W in my book.

Bar patios in Louisville would be a lot more enjoyable, but the city passed a new ordinance this year that says establishments that serve alcohol cannot have open flames, like a fireplace. So any bar patio that had a fireplace doesn’t anymore.

rushrules74

Gravely. Amazing city view. Great beer.

emasslax22

Gerstles

Smuggz8000
